We are empty nesters in our mid 50s and have a large family and love our spot on the river. We have been called Hippies by our close friends and that doesn't offend us. We have hugged a few trees. We don't live in the normal boundaries of life and love to test the edges of our "Lifestyle" with like minded people. So bring your Pineapple and come play.
We can help with just about anything and if we can't we know who can.
We have a yellow lab that loves everyone
Kerrville and Center Point
We have a converted E350 van that we take mostly to music festivals.
Rick and Kay have the most beautiful place we have stayed at, right along the Guadalupe river. We really enjoyed hanging out with them and talking about our shared love of music. We will definitely stop back and visit them if we ever pass by again!
This stay was great! The hosts are super friendly and helpful. The location is right along the river (no view from the rig, but a short walk away) and is a cool little place to hang out and relax, swim if it's warm enough! They offer full hook ups (no fee) and have an outdoor shower that is AMAZING. Near a few cute little towns- definitely check this stop out if you can!
Had a great couple of days staying at Rick and Kay's by the Guadalupe river. We enjoyed exploring the surrounding towns of Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Comfort, Bandera and coming back to the peace and tranquility of Center Point and Rick and Kay's spot by the river. We had a great meal just down the road at the food truck @ La Tapatia Mexican Groceries. A sweet giving couple who have a great property by the river in the heart of Hill country, Is well seyup for BDW guests even with an outdoor shower that brought us back memories of our days living in our tiny house. When we return to the hill country we will for sure look them up for areturn visit, and if you make it north do come and visit us at our BDW site in upstate NY.
We were super excited to get to come back for a second time. These are exceptional people and we love hanging out with them when it worked out.
We loved our stay at Rick and Kays place and would happily return if they'd have us. We had a great time getting to know them over dinner and generally hanging out and they gave us lots of great suggestions of what to do in the area. Can't say enough good stuff about them and their place
All I can say is I wish I could have stayed longer and can’t wait to go back! And wish I could bring my family there! I visited a lot with Kay but didn’t get a chance to spend time with Rick except to say hi & bye. Very giving and fun couple!!
In our quest to scratch the surface of Texas Hill Country, we stayed with Rick and Kay on their unique property on the Guadalupe River. The river area is just across the street and what a surprise. The beautiful old trees and large lawn area complete with fire pit, giant swing—large enough for several people at once—is enchanting. They are upriver from a small dam, so it’s more like a lake. A soothing green color, too. We were able to visit several Hill towns and soaked up the local flavor. Don’t miss Comfort with its numerous antique malls and historic downtown. The history is fascinating, too. We visited Bandera—check out the cowboy museum and the Silver Dollar dancehall with its sawdust floors. You’re close to Boerne—very nice—and Gruene (Green) with its shops, restaurants and historic dance hall—not to be missed. Rick and Kay recommended a reasonable Mexican restaurant (Los Dos Amigos—friendly staff) just around the corner. There are also food trucks that are good, but we didn’t try them. The area is quiet and we can recommend a sunset walk along the quiet road. The best is Kay and Rick offer a colorfully lit outdoor shower (Christmas lights), which I tried in the cold one evening. Wonderful experience. There’s a nice bathroom to use too. Kay also kindly arranged a hair appointment for me with her daughter just up the road. She was able to squeeze me in very short notice and just before Christmas. Overall, this was a wonderful stop in an interesting, quirky, shabby-chic Hill Country neighborhood. Scratch the surface like we did and you’ll experience the best this area has to offer. Will be back next year😀😀
Rick and Kay were so warm and welcoming! We arrived on a Sunday and they invited us to join their family and friends dinner that night. It was fun meeting their kids, grandkids, and neighbors - they made us feel like one of the family. They had electric and water hookups for us, as well as access to an AWESOME outdoor shower and a bathroom right there. So nice to have a real bathroom for a change! They have a great place on the river, and we had some wine from a local winery while watching the sunset by the river. I highly recommend staying with Rick and Kay if you are in the area!
Cool location and great hosts!! Very accommodating of our family. Wish we could have stayed longer and hope to be back someday! Thank you!
The girls and I stayed with Rick and Kay for two days and we were so lucky to find this spot. A little piece of heaven by the river. We enjoyed doing yoga on floating dock in the middle of the river on two beautiful sunny days. We also joined them for a camp fire by the river one night. Great friendly, gracious couple who made us feel more than welcome. Thanks Guys
They made my stay at their place, feel like my home. Their is not enough positive adjectives to define them, their space, or their outlook on sharing it. Thanks Rick! Thanks Kay! Look forward to seeing ya'll again :)
