I'm a solo woman traveler living in a custom built Sprinter van. I've raised two amazing daughters who are now in their 20s and living on their own. I homeschooled (unschooled) my girls and now it's my time! I sell essential oils and am completely location independent.
My goal is to visit as many national parks/monuments as I can and find all the organic markets and restaurants in my passion for real food on the road. While on the road I've added a new passion - creating videos for YouTube (thegalavan).
I'm a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts and tend to be overly considerate (sometimes to my detriment). I've been an Air BnB host and loved meeting people as they stayed at my home. I'm looking forward to meeting hosts along my journey!
I've got some pretty decent computer skillz. I love to cook with real, organic ingredients (not much into prepared foods). I know a LOT about alternative health and am happy to share my knowledge. I teach essential oil classes (people seem to think I always smell good as a side benefit of what I do!).
No
BLM Land!
I grew up in the Air Force, and my family is from Eastern Washington. I now consider Corvallis, OR to be home. I'm full time without a home base though.
The Galavan is a custom converted Sprinter Van. It's Aqua Green and 22' long. It's considered a Class B and was built out on a new 2015 Freightliner Sprinter (built by Mercedes) - this is the same van that FedEX uses. No slides, no funky decorations (on the outside - just wait 'til you see the inside though - it's a delightful surprise!).
Loved having this guest she was a real interesting person to have conversations with and we enjoyed our happy hour with her she is welcome back anytime
Joni was a great visitor, a joy, no loud parties or anything :-) A very experienced traveler who is willing to share her knowledge. Folks should visit her YouTube channel "The Galavan" for great and pertinent camper van and travel tips, especially for single women.
We had several things in common from our past. Interesting & what a small world we live in.
I really enjoyed the Galavan! She has an amazing Sprinter buildout she designed and lives in full time. Super roomy, and definitely well thought-out. She was a great guest, and I'm so glad I met her! I'm looking forward to hanging out with The Galavan again somewhere soon!
We hosted Galavan for 2 nights. Very nice and friendly. She was polite and considerate of our property and we would not hesitate to recommend them. They are welcome back at any time.
We had fun conversations and the Galavan joined in with our visiting neighbors and friends.
Joined us for "Attitude Adjustment Hour" and dinner. Very Interesting and became "family", quickly.
Be sure and get a tour of the specifically owner designed GALAVAN, professionally built to high standards. You'll be amazed at how perfectly this small amount of space gets everything to work and fit together.
The Galavan is a lovely, pleasant, easy-to-talk with Boondocker. We had a couple of occasions to chat, otherwise she was so quiet we hardly knew she was in our driveway! She is welcome anytime.
Although we regret not being able to meet The Galavan in person, she was great to visit with on the phone, courteous, friendly and grateful for the site for the night. Hoping to catch up with her sometime and recommend The Galavan as a guest!
