We are a married professional couple from Vermont seeking to travel to the maritimes. We built our Yukon XL into a small RV by converting our bed and passenger area into storage for travel We have an RV Fridge and supply area in the middle row area and put a cedar dog kennel with plenty of room in the bed area. We have an auxiliary battery with solar power and a nice out door kitchen system. We sleep in our fold out canvas roof top tent that open into a comfortable full mattress. It connects with the interior of the truck . We can set up an additional tent to the rear of the truck. We are traveling with our three young dogs , a silver lab ,a black lab and a hound dog mix . The dogs are fully kennel and collar trained and very friendly. They sleep very well together in the truck kennel. We also love to cook and bring plenty of outdoor kitchenware. We have Vermont Beer.
Last Year we used this system from our camp in Quebec and traveled through the Trans Labrador Highway down to Newfoundland . We had only one day in NL and now return to just spend the majority of our time somewhere on the Coast.
This year we are leaving from Vermont and taking the CAT Ferry from Portland to Yarmouth NS. We then cross NS to Sidney for the Ferry to NL.
2008 2500 Yukon XL.
Rgrunert are a great couple who enjoy travelling in the Maritimes... We were happy to host them even though the weather was miserable, we found an opportunity to take a walk on the beach with the dogs. We hope to see them again in our travels this fall.
