My wife and I enjoy vacationing in our travel trailer, and we are thinking of going full-time upon retirement in a few years. Our interests are hiking, birding, natural history in general.
Complete duffer at RVing. I can heat sausages on a grill. My wife is much more accomplished than I. However, if you have a butterfly that needs identifying . . .
No.
Borrego Springs in the California desert. Otherwise, our experience has mainly been Forest Service, State Parks, or private RV parks. I have enjoyed (almost) all of them. Our one experience with a Boondockers Welcome host was wonderful, and if all hosts are like them I know we'll enjoy boondocking anywhere.

2016 Forest River EVO, 20 ft nominal (about 24 ft hitch to bumper). No slideouts. The tow vehicle is a 2012 Toyota Tundra.
John was visiting family in the area, so we didn't get to spend a lot of time with him. He had his trailer at our house and was always very concerned that it not inconvenience us in any way.
He communicated with us frequently to keep us up to date on his plans.
We would gladly host John in the future.
