We are a family of a husband and wife, young son and friendly dog named Hank. We love the outdoors and exploring new areas where we can take our little 14-ft custom built aluminum "toaster" RV. We live in a little ski town in the southern interior of British Columbia where we hit the slopes all winter and enjoy the lakes, rock climbing, hiking and camping all summer.
We love the Kootenays where we do most of our camping. Slocan Lake, Nakusp, Duncan Dam and Kaslo are some of our favourite spots.
We are from a little ski town in the Kootenays called Rossland. Our ski resort, Red Mountain, boasts some of the best and most challenging terrain in the area! We are also famous for all the mountain biking trails in the area.
Our rig consists of our 14-ft aluminum "toaster" RV (we nicknamed it the toaster as it kind of resembles an old silver toaster and also gets pretty hot in the summer time if it's baking in the sun! So you literally toast inside of it). A fellow in Grand Forks BC built the RV from an old "okanagan" frame and modelled it after a 1950's trailer. Apparently he was doing it as a woodworking project so the interior is all gorgeous wood with simple features such as a nice dresser, a little dinette, a small fridge, stove, and sink. The dinette turns into a bed and there are also bunks. It is cozy and we love it! The outside is aluminum with a million little screws holding it all together! It is about 14 ft long and 9 ft tall, no slide outs or anything fancy. We tow it with our Toyota Tacoma.
