Late 40s, early 50s, male and female traveling and life partners. Retired Army and Army Civilian. We have seen a lot of the world and love finding new amazing places. We love peaceful quiet locations (especially with mountain or water views, but then who doesn't). We usually bring our mountain bikes, inflatable Kayak, and BMW along on our travels, cause you just never know where you might find yourself.
Very handy with tools, always bring along a full compliment for most situations.
No Boondocking yet. We love the state parks in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests. We also love Virginia Beach.
We have a silver 2016 24' Leisure Travel Vans Unity MB class B+ with a single slide-out and usually tow a 12' enclosed trailer (for the above mentioned toys). It has a 30Amp electrical system and we have an on-board diesel generator for dry camping. No funky decorations...
These folks are the greatest! Wonderful guests, clean, quiet and considerate. We look forward to more great conversations. They are welcome back anytime.
I enjoyed the agricultural landscape in the area. very quiet location. great trail in the woods to stretch my legs. I would choose again when in the area.
Three thumbs up !!
The hosts were very welcoming and a terrific location And a very peaceful night. Thanks again for being a host site and hosting me
HY HO VA were great hosts, very welcoming and gave us lots of useful information on the area, both around Charlotteswille and other places on our planned journey. Their location is great for visiting Monticello and Montpelier. They have a home in lovely grounds and the hook up and fresh water were an added bonus. Our first experience of boon docking- would definitely recommend them if you are in the area. Thanks for a great stay.
It's always a pleasure to see HY HO. Just like visiting old friends. Such a warm and welcoming couple, be sure to ask for a stay if you're ever in the Charlottesville area.
HY HO VA was very kind to allow us to stay overnight, even though he was not around that evening. So unfortunately we didn't get to meet him, but hopefully we'll see him on the road someday.
The spot is not too far from Charlottesville, and it's very quiet since it's not on a busy road. His offer of 30 Amps of power and well water were much appreciated and the site is fairly level. Strongly recommended for RV travelers.
Well, what can we say?!?!? We met them in March and we specialy drove back to them on our way back to have 24 hours together before we went back to the Netherlands. There are not words enough to discribe how those 24 hours were. We really hope to see them at our place one time (soon). We miss them already. Thank you for everything, you are wonderful xx
A perfect stop for visiting the areas around Orange, Gordonsville, Barboursville, and greater Charlottesville areas!! Our hosts could have not been more gracious, welcoming, and generous sharing their beautiful property — they have set the bar very high for other Hosts!!!
Location Bonus: Stop in Gordonsville at the BBQ Exchange restaurant for amazing variety BBQ meats and all the best sides!!!
Awesome couple with a nice location and 30 amp hookup! Enjoyed our convo and the delicious water on site. Lots of great recommendations for things to do nearby, as well! Thanks again!
We really enjoyed our stayover here. It's a lovely place and a nice drive through the country getting there. Being able to plug in was an added bonus. Thanks for sharing your place with fellow boondockers.
On our second day RVing we stayed with Chuck, Sabrena and Colette. We have a nice click, we talked about 7 hours and stayed an extra day. We woke up with lots of snow on our RV. They directly invited us for dinner. So much hospitality!!! We are very gratefull for everything 👍🇮🇶 We hope we will see them in the Netherlands.
