Retired to Milo, Maine with my son.
We have a small family farm with a old growth orchard of apples, pears, cherries and peaches.
We don’t raise crops but we grow a large garden on some of the land.
Some would call our place a hobby farm but most days it seems like a job.
We enjoy the beauty and solitude of a small f
community without the trappings of a big urban
area.
We raise chickens for eggs. Just recently we sold off our dairy goat herd to allow us a bit more free time.
Don’t get on the road as much as we like so we travel vicariously by hosting when off the road.
So if you’re in the area and want to say just shoot us a message and we will get back to you as quickly as we can.
Being a retired mortician most folks don’t want to use my skill sets.
Now that we are back living on the farm full time I have sharpened latent construction and livestock skills.
I amuse my neighbors with my amateur farming attempts.
I tell my neighbors when some things don’t grow the way I was expecting that in my former life I was never worried about things coming back up once I put them in the ground.
BLM Land when we can. Mt McKinley in Alaska is one of our favorite places to explore. Anyplace with friendly people or no people fits the bill for us.
Milo is our new home town, where the people are friendly and neighbors are caring. We have lived in different states and towns before retirement. We feel like we have always lived here, the people and community make us feel like we have always been a neighbor.
We have a 37 foot class A
Nice place to stop off. Host was gone most of the time we were there, but it stop in to say hello!
The hosts were amazing! From helping us get into the site to showing us their wood-burning fireplace inside their RV, these hosts were good to talk with and very accommodating.
The site has plenty of space in the apple orchard. Our dogs enjoyed running around as did our toddler. The nearby town is quaint and the grocery store is convenient (only 5 minutes away). Nice small town shops and restaurants and friendly neighbors.
We would love to stay here again the next time we are in the area. Highly recommended!
Very nice people and a very quiet place, him and his son are two wonderful people, if you want a place to crash for a few days, that one of them place, very quiet, we would go again, rood good and about 1/2 hours from Bangor, good luck with your RV buddy!!
It was so great staying here with Steve, Brian, Pixie and Ox! They had a perfect spot in the back of their apple orchard for us to park. We were really glad to have made friends with the hosts and hope to return back as soon as possible.
Be sure not to pass these great people and this great spot up!
Had a restful nights sleep in Kanosh, there are donkey and horses that are very sweet, also chickens. Our host has two friendly dogs that are very well behaved. I spent the next morning with our host as he showed us his farm and shared stories. Our host also was so kind to show us his rig that he has done amazing improvements on. He was so kind to make me a cup of coffee and to share some of the canned peppers that he had made from his organic garden. Couldn't ask for a kinder host.... Thank you
Very quiet place and very nice people. Haven't really met a Boondocker I haven't liked. My only regret is not staying longer to sit down and talk story with them.
Steve and Brian were so accommodating. We had our tow dolly to contend with but it worked out great! Steve arrived at our door with a book with all kinds of day trips and things to see and do in the area plus he gave us suggestions, especially to stop at the Iceberg! We arrived with apples and carrots for the burros and ponies and really had fun feeding them. They told us about their orchard, their chickens and what Brian was busy planting in their garden. It was fun having a pot luck with 8 adults and 6 small children, sitting around the campfire afterwards, making s’mores and just getting to know everyone. By the way, Brian makes a mean salad! If we’re ever this way again you can bet we’ll see if we can’t stop and visit again. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
We enjoyed the green landscape in Kanosh in May after weeks in dry desert. Nice hike up Pine Peak. Enjoyable hot spring in near by Meadow. Short drive to Fillmore for grocery, library, etc.
Hosts Steve and Brian were very informative and respectful. They truly enjoy running a small farm and hosting boondockers. Very kid friendly animals. We enjoyed company with other campers with a fire and potluck.
Very easy access with our 35' 5er.
We had a very relaxing time staying at the farm. We were offered electricity, which was unexpected. There are four well graded gravel parking spaces. The host was very friendly and generous. He gave us information on things to do in the area. We spent a day exploring the Meadow Lava Tubes and Meadow Hot Springs. Highly recommended if you have the time. Having dogs, donkeys, chickens and a pony on the property were a plus. We would definitely stay here again while passing through.
Steve at Kanosh Farm was our first Boondockers Welcome host. He and his son, Brian, were so nice and welcoming. The view was spectacular and we enjoyed visiting some of the local area sites. Hope to come back through again some day.
Steve should be host of the year,a pleasure to spend time with and share experience, hope to see you in Montana later this year, hope all goes well in SLC. Joe and Earlene
We thank Steve and Brian and all the animals for a wonderful restful time enjoyed the farm and great conversation very informative helps us alot we defiantly would recommend this location thank you God Bless.. Donna and Scott +pets
Steve was a very kind and friendly host. We really enjoyed staying here.
Our rig is huge (42' fifth wheel) and we have trouble getting into so many places but this was a breeze, there is a turn around just outside the gate so maneuvering was super easy. Nice view and so peaceful and we just loved the animals! Bring carrots for the ponies and donkeys, they are so sweet! Thank you, Steve!! I hope we can stop by again some day soon!
Steve is a delightful host. He provides great conversation, local area information & a beautiful view of the mountains! We hope to return and. Is it longer next time! See Ya!
Styeve and his son Brian were awesome hosts. We woke up to donkeys frolicking and our dog, Lexi, was in "dog heaven" literally with Pixie and Charley!
Thanks so much for a beautiful experience and we look forward to returning to your farm - :)

Our host was really congenial and welcoming. Although we woke up the next morning with 6 in. of snow, it was definitely not his fault. We really appreciated his welcoming attitude and sharing of experiences. Well worth a visit to his farm in the country. The vistas are breathtaking.
One word to describe this host "GREAT".
Had a wonderful 5 day stay with Steve and his son Brian. Also met some of his family on Easter Sunday.
Great place to stay. Quiet and peaceful. Steve was a big help in pointing us in the right direction for our
4 wheeling adventures. Highly recommend this host for fellow Boondockeers and we look forward to seeing
Steve and Brian in the future.
We had a great stay with Steve and his son on the Kanosh 700 ranch, our host was on site when we arrived , was amazingly helpful with a couple of requests we had during our stay , the location is very easy on and off from I-15 .
If into wheelers this is a access point for the Pauite Trail system. the town of Kanosh is a wheeler friendly community. Steve provided us with both E/W the views are spectacular of the mountains ,
We came as strangers and are leaving as dear friends . while there he was hosting two guests including us and had pleanty of rooms for both 55 + 65 foot rigs. will definatley stay again in the coming years
Thanks again Steve

What a great spot to stop for the night. We are way behind in this review since we were on a whirlwind 3 month trip and just got home. The views are amazing, the little town is adorable and the host and his son were very welcoming and attentive. We went on a hike from the property which was very delightful. Would highly recommend this host to anyone traveling anywhere nearby. Thanks Kanosh and sorry for the late reference!
What a great stop, plenty of room, great people, glad I could help out with the electric...will stay again

We spent one night at Kanosh 700's place out in the country, with easy access from the interstate. He is an easy-going and hospitable guy, has a huge boondocking space set up for his visitors (with lots of room to turn a coach around), a very friendly dog (Charlie) and the location is peaceful and quite. We really appreciated his hospitality, even though we had to switch up our dates. Thank-you!
We had such a great time boondocking with Kanosh700! What an amazing host and a great conversationalist. We spent a couple days and were glad we did. Kanosh is a real surprise...refreshingly lovely. We were so impressed with the generosity of our host. Steve and his son were generous and super helpful when We had vehicle issues. I was so glad we stopped. You never know when you'll find a gem!
We highly recommend you stop at Kanosh 700's place.
He was more than accommodating for our situation (being stuck waiting on packages).
Sweet, sweet man.
Plus, everyone in the town was super nice. Even the Post Office knew us after a week there.
We spent 2 nights with Kanosh 700 on his wonderful property. We were blown away with the beautiful mountains and sunset from our RV. Kanosh and his son were more than accommodating, jump starting our car when we arrived in the evening and had let our tow car battery die and sharing his wifi so we could work. He offers full hook up on a level area. Our dogs enjoyed walking around the property, meeting Charlie, the most friendly dog, a bunny and Moe the donkey.
We only wish we could have had longer to chat with these wonderful people. When we come back through Utah, we will be reaching out to Kanosh again!
We spent a few nights with our host his son and Charlie the big pup. They were more then hospitable, going out of thier way to make you feel at home. The site is situated in such a way that day trips to various national parks are possible. We wish these fine people our best
Kanosh 700 was a great host! We really enjoyed the peaceful scenery and pleasant conversation. We also met Charlie, a very friendly pup, who was happy to meet everyone. Hope to stay again sometime!
Kanosh 700 were the best hosts. We ended up saving vehicle trouble. They hosted us, fed our minds with great conversation and nourished our bodies with an amazing dinner. We were so glad to have stayed. We soent some time with great folks and enjoyed the immensely beautiful scenery. Thanks y'all!
We visited with Kanosh700 and his son a few days ago and it was great!! Kanosh700 is a wonderful Host and his place is so very quiet and so peaceful. The stars at night are amazing and so are the mountain views. His donkey Moe was so cute but also a little skittish..... that is until the neighbor boy brought over his miniature donkey named Mae and then magic happened. He would follow her anywhere with love in his eyes...lol! Don't pass up the chance to meet Kanosh700 and his son and enjoy their little piece
I realized almost a month before that this would be the perfect stop before I hit Bryce and Zion. My host was incredibly flexible about my arrival. Once I arrived, It didn't take me long to realize staying one night was not going to be enough. Steve was so hospitable! And he recommended some really nice swimming holes that were close and so special as they are at the foot of the mountain and completely private with sweet clear water. Rested up for zZion! All that plus Charlie, horses, and power! So nice! Hope to see you again!
This was just a quick overnight stop for us on a long Journey but it was easily accessible and our Host were very accommodating. There were horses and a friendly dog on the property and a great view of the mountains. Thanks for letting us stay.
Avons aimer passer la nuit chez notre hote , endroit tres tranquille pour ceux qui on besoin de repos, merci a Steve.
Thanks again for Boondocking. Sorry about the schedule change....
