He is a retired plumber/pipe-fitter, island born, tinkerer, handy man and friendly guy; she is Alberta born & raised still working part-time at a home based business. We love the island music/art scene and are true foodies who can point you to the best culinary adventures.
We did our big RV trip July-Oct 2016 from PEI to Tofino BC and back. It was epic and we plan to do it again, many times, adding in a trip to NFLD, Alaska, Yukon and NWT and of course the US of A.
When we returned home this fall we sold the rig knowing that we would need something bigger for our next trip as we would want to be on the road for most of the year when the time comes. Meanwhile, we are sticking close to home and would love to welcome fellow RVers so that we can share stories, experience the insights from other folks on travel to the places we haven't been yet, meet other "boondockers" and just "hang out".
Him: Handy dandy man, plumber pipe-fitter, carpentry skills, mechanics
Her: Gourmet cooking, accounting & taxes, some computer skills
Frosty is a ginger colored, fluffy cat that loves people. She lives in our shop and outside. She gets her nose out of joint when visitors bring doggies but she works her way around them. We enjoy the dog visits and have a great place for them and their owners to run and play. Frosty does not travel with us, she stays with Grampa.
We haven't done any "boondocking" yet but plan to in the near future in our Canada/US travels. We have heard some great stories from the "boondockers" we hosted this year, hopefully we can try out some of the spots that were suggested!!
He is from Eastern PEI, she is from rural Alberta. For now we are settled in the middle of Prince Edward Island, Queens County, New Glasgow area. This homestead is currently for sale and when it is sold we will begin our next chapter of full-time RVing !!
We sold our last rig and are currently on the hunt for the next one. We have listed our property to sell and will go full time RVing when that happens. So far we have our truck, a Dodge Ram Diesel 3500...looking for the 5th wheel as we write this. Our rig will be approx 40 ft with all of the fixings for full timing.
We stayed for two nights at the Macdees lovely property. They where very welcoming and made us love pei even more!
We had the pleasure of two nights on their beautiful property. We were thoroughly welcomed and looked after! They provided us with great recommendations as well as some homegrown veggies!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to head back or recommend a stay with them! Thanks for having us!
Spent only one night here but could have easily have stayed a week. Wonderful host and hostess who offered us fresh veggies from their garden as well as recommendations on things to see/do on the island. Hope we will have the pleasure of hosting them one day when they hit the road.
We had the marvelous opportunity to spend 2 nights at the MacDees. They were very warm and welcoming showing us around their property and suggestions on places to visit. One of the highlights was the evening on the porch/kitchen table, it was as if we were old friends catching up. When we left they dug us some potatoes straight from the garden and a turnip. The potatoes were the best we have ever had and the turnip we are saving for a special occasion. We hope to meet up with the MacDees again as we all travel around. We can't say Thank You enough!
Our family was fortunate to spend a couple of days at the MacDees' place. They have a great location, close to Charlottetown, the Prince Edward Island National Park, and Malpeque; however the best part of the stay was how welcoming and friendly the MacDees were. The greeted us very warmly upon arrival, showed us around the property and gave some great recommendations and suggestions for things to do in the area. They were very generous with us, even giving us some food from their garden!
What a pleasure to have spent a few days with these lovely people! I only hope we will have a chance to meet up once again down the road. If we rated hosts from 1 to 10 and 10 being the highest I would give them a 12! Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us. Bruc & Gloria AKA BGKet
So glad we were able to spend time with the MacDees! They have a stunning location and setup is great for any rv type. They spent the time to get to know us and show us around. Very warm and welcoming people. Being locals, they were able to give some great suggestions in regards to food and places to see. Our pup loved that she was able to let loose like at home and have someone to play with her! Sorry we couldn't stay the extra night but can't wait for you guys to get your new rig and hopefully you stop in our way:)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The MacDees location. Super friendly folk that go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We filled with the best water we found on our trip across Canada. Nice level, roomy spot overlooking the landscaped grounds and bird feeders.
To all those considering the McDees hospitality you could not find better. We stayedonly one night due to our schedule, but would gladly had spent another night just get to know the McDees better. The site was very good and we felt really welcomed.
The MacDee's are wonderful hosts! We felt very welcome and appreciated their friendliness. They offer full hook up and a quiet, peaceful spot to spend the night. Their location is close to many PEI attractions. We plan to return and highly reccomend this couple and their lovely spot. Many thanks.
That was really simple and great. The Macdees has a beautiful place with even full hookups. Fire, snore and fun for the kids:) that was perfect. Thanks again
They welcomed us warm and we soon felt home. We had some really good talks, and exchanged experiences. Thanks to TheMacDees, we enjoyed a perfect Canada Day and stayed safe and quiet. If you can host them or visit their place, we just can recommend.
Great hosts that went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The site is beautiful and has full hookups (water, power & sewage dump). The property is gorgeous with flower fields and quick little hiking spots. We only have wonderful things to say and hope we meet up with the MacDees somewhere down the road. Beautiful island with great history. Trust in their directions and NOT GPS. Thanks once again.
We arrived to PEI on a very rainy day and our original plans had to be scrapped. Not the best start, but we scrambled and made it work somewhere else for the first night. I made an inquiry to TheMacDees and received a response in about 10 minutes. They already had boondockers but found a way to make it work for us, as well. We were ready for to go for the next two nights. Things were definitely looking up and we hadn't even met them. We arrived at their house the next day at noon, where they met us at the end of the driveway and showed us the layout. Their property is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful and TheMacDees are just so welcoming! This was our first experience with BoondockersWelcome and I'm not sure it will ever be topped. I wish I could tell you more but you are supposed to leave personal information out, so you will have to stay for yourself to find out how great they are. I can tell you that they turned our really sour start on PEI into one of my favorite stops on our year-long journey and I feel like we left with two new and wonderful friends!
We have spent two wonderful days at their place. Very pleasant people. We will love to meet them again. Mado
