Mel and Chris are a dynamic, adventurous duo that converted a 2000 International School Bus (which took over 1 year to build) into their new home! They're traveling the country this summer and looking for hosts along the way. Mel is a freelance musician and Chris works in digital media design virtually. This awesome couple can promise great conversation, a tour of their conversion, and absolute respect for your property and space. Since a lot of our time is spent driving, we're mostly looking for a safe space to get some shut eye for the evening, and to meet great people along the way.
We're very creative! We're both very musical, and if you have a guitar or would like to sing a few John Denver or Fleetwood Mac tunes, we'd oblige!
We are just starting out in our boondocking journey. So far we have only stayed in Wal-Mart and other large chain parking lots, and are excited to find safe, legal places to stay the night along our route.
Chris is from a small town in Maine called Windham, which is situated on Maine's second largest lake. Chris' hometown relays on tourism in the summer, and has always admired the RVing lifestyle. Mel, born and raised in New Jersey, currently resides in Brooklyn, NY and cannot wait to get out of the city for the summer.
Our blue and white striped school bus is 34 feet long, but has a clearance of 11 feet. The bus hooks up to a 30 amp system, or an extension cord from a garage will do!
