Retired Coast Guard. After retiring from Coast Guard (30+ yrs). I worked as electronics and systems engineer.
My wife Leslie, is in marketing/sales at RI Monthly magazine. She was also as a small business owner when we were stationed in Virginia and taught English as a second language while we were stationed in Japan... among other jobs before we were married.
Together we have traveled from east to west coast and back numerous times and to places overseas for business and pleasure but pretty much for my various duty stations....much to Leslie's disappoint I did more international travelling. We (and our daughters) are avid hikers and tent campers but we decided to start rv'ing so we could see the country at a more leisurely pace as nomads vice long distance drivers i.e, a switch to less than 300 a day vice 750 to 900 miles a day we used to do.
I do a lot of things but expert in none. I worked with electrical/electronics devices in the past and I've been involved with boats and car repair, as well as a bit of home remodeling and woodworking.
Leslie will add her areas but sailing, acting, marketing and sales are among them.
Yes, two small dog but they typically stay with our daughters. We dog sit for them when they travel.
We just getting into into rv boondocking. But we like camping and hiking in the mountains Shenandoah, Blue Ridge, and places overseas ... climbed MT Fuji in Japan. We want to do more traveling out west. Our plan is to travel to and around the national parks and BLM land. With the Class B we can get to many remote places and be self sufficient.
Rhode Island... a small state where you can to get most places in an hour or so...Narragansett Bay and beaches are just minutes away from us. Despite its small size there are many sights to see and things to do...., museums, historic sites, boating, fishing, camping (RV sites too), great food wineries & micro-breweries etc. Great sightseeing and beautiful beaches.... Newport, Block Island, Providence….. Home of the PAWSOXs (triple A farm club of the Red Sox), the Naval War College, URI, RISD, Brown University etc..
