I go by Dick, am an active pilot, SCORE volunteer, serve on local non profit boards. Skier, music lover, hiker, still help our son and daughter in law with their running of Timberlock, a summer family vacation resort on Indian Lake in the Adirondacks than my wife and I founded in the early 60's. I've recently lost my wife of 61 years to Alzheimers so am traveling alone in my Winnebago Revel. A recent heart attack has slowed me down some but not enough to stop traveling.

We spent a peaceful night overlooking fields near Lake Champlain. While there was also a sizable family rig in place, we were directed around the barn and it was quiet and private.
A lovely location, and we were grateful to be offered electricity.
We were near the horse paddock, which was familiar and pleasant to us.
Our June visit was so perfect. Lovely hosts, our space in front of the big red barn was level and the view of the Adirondacks was special. 40 minutes to Burlington, Shelburne Farms-UNESCO site, Middlebury and had a fantastic afternoon - evening exploring Basin Harbor Resort on Lake Champlain and dinner at The Red Mill Restaurant.
Would love to stay here again if back in the area. This is the best of what Boondockers Welcome hosts have to offer.
What a slice of heaven. Does it get much better than a gorgeous sunset overlooking the Adirondacks while playing fetch with your pups? The property and the hosts were truly amazing. Would highly recommend a stop at sundown farm. Thank you so much for welcoming me and my pups to your property.
Sundown Farm is aptly named for the gorgeous sunsets over the distant hills. Miles of gravel roads bring you to this serene New England farm. Many area POI’s are within easy driving distance or you may chose to stay put and enjoy that unread book as you look out at the rolling meadows. Definitely a place we hope to revisit. Thank you for your hospitality.
What a beautiful place...perfect to do lots of day trips...so much to see. Our host was so nice...got us settled and shared places to see. Great reference for a nearby restaurant's pies....and it was right on!
Sundown farm is a really good place to stay.
Cute and nice people, and nice views of the fields and the mountains.
We loved staying at Sundown Farm...and we saw an epic sunset. Great privacy, great conversation, great scenery - what else could you ask for??
Perfect hosts, so thoughtful and gracious. The view can't be beat. Quiet and peaceful but bring bug spray!
Such a beautiful place to stay. The host was very nice, and their farm is beautiful. We stayed 3 nights exploring the area and just relaxing and taking in the views of the Adirondack mountains and watching our 2 little puppies enjoy running leash free on the green grass all around us.
Put this on your list for sure!
Here you will find absolutely stunning views of the
Adirondacks and peaceful quietness. This location
has it all, it's in close proximity to city life, restaurants,
every kind of Lake activity, hiking, biking, cultural
events, festivals, concerts, college campuses, museums,
historical sites, wineries, breweries, mountains, rivers
farmers' markets, and of course farms, huge farms!
As far as the hosts are concerned, better people you
will not meet! Warm and friendly, down to earth and
gracious; truly special folks that share their piece of
heaven with other RVers! We would have liked to
have stayed longer, maybe next time, and we hope to
meet them again one day in the not too distant future
at our location or back at Sundown Farm!
These Boondockers Welcome stays get better and better. If you’re looking for lots of room and a very quiet stay with views and amazing sunsets this is the spot. The host was very nice and made us feel very comfortable. I hope to be back someday.
Beautiful place to camp. Views were spectacular! Thank you so much for allowing us to stay.
This is a beautiful space overlooking fields to the lovely hills beyond...making for gorgeous sunsets! Our hosts couldn't have been kinder or more accommodating! We had no cell/internet service so we just unplugged and got away from it all...long walks, smelling the flowers, chatting with the friendly dog, Sunny, and sitting at the picnic table provided. Thanks again for a relaxing and restful stay.
I didn't get to meet the hosts but they gave me perfect directions and all the info I needed. The location is amazing, one of the most beautiful spots I've been in my two month trip!
This has to be one of the most beautiful and peaceful places we have stayed. Two friendly and intelligent hosts whose knowledge of the area and region are unmatched. Quiet, stunning views, comfortable farm yard to stay the night on. We feel honored to have had the chance to stay. Our only regret is that we could stay only one night!
We had an excellent stay at Sundown Farms. Our hosts are wonderful kind people. They treated us like family. The view they have access the valley with the Adirondack Mountains in the back ground was breath taking.
Thanks for allowing us to stay.
Sundown Farm host's were absolutely gracious and warm to make our stay enjoyable. I look forward to visiting again, possibly in the fall.
My husband and I had such an incredible 2 night stay at “Sundown Farm”. The farm was easy to find and located near some incredible attractions (Burlington, Brewery, hiking areas). The hosts (including their beautiful dog) greeted us (including our dog) with such a warm welcome, showing us around their land. The Boondocking location was completely large enough for our truck- camper, and large enough for our Boondocking neighbors (truck-camper) with tons of space to spare. Sunsets were gorgeous, the sun setting behind the mountain ranges. Super quiet- and relaxing- the only noise heard over our 2 night stay was peaceful braying by horses (on the lot), and a morning rooster in the distance. We are thankful for our stay, the friends we made, and the chance to see Vermont with a new lens. Thank you!!
This location was the most beautiful that we have seen on our entire trip. Our hosts were more than accommodating and kind for anything that we could need. We spent our entire visit outside and it couldn't have been any more pleasant. We would absolutely return!
We had the best stay at Sundown Farm! We had beautiful views, amazing sunsets, horses out our back window. We stayed in the paddock area so we had a huge grassy area to run around in - our boys loved that! There were two other Boondockers there but you never knew they were there unless you were passing by on the driveway. Dick and his wife were gracious hosts. Checked in to make sure we were doing good and had what we needed. We drove into Burlington one day (about 45-1 hour away) and then hiked Baxter Mountain another. Plenty to explore in the area for a few days. Hoping our travels bring us back to the farm one day. Thankful for a great experience!!
I stayed at Sundown Farm as scheduled from June 14th until this morning June 18th.
It is a beautiful place as my Dad use to call "A PIECE OF HEAVEN ON EARTH"
The hosts are both beautiful people that strifes to make your stay comfortable & perfect.
For me, they succeeded! Thank you both for sharing your lovely place!
These people and place are wo derful. Thanks so much for sharing your place with us
This was our first experience boondocking and it couldn't have been nicer. Such wonderful hosts and a perfect place for a stay.
Thanks so much
We *loved* our visit to Sundown Farm. It was one of the most beautiful places we stayed in our travels through Vermont. The owners are really friendly and accommodating and really seem to just want visitors to be comfortable and enjoy their beautiful farm.
Staying at Sundown had us dreaming of owning our own farm in Vermont :)
Great postcard setting, from the tree lined driveway to the awesome mountain views. Very accommodating making sure we were setup with water and electricity.
A second boondocking arrived and we hardly knew they were there.
Dick was a great host that we will definitely request again.

The host was not feeling well while I was there so we did not have any interaction. The farm was a great place to stay with a nice 'sundown' view looking off into the mountains of New York.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at this location. Hosts were kind enough to let us use electric and water. We enjoyed chatting for a bit, and the breathtaking views of the countryside were awesome!
Sundown Farm was one of the most beautiful places we have stayed, and the family was very kind. There was plenty of room for my big rig and the sunsets were wonderful. Stay here if you get a chance. Great location!
On our journey through New England we were allowed to spend 3 nights on the sundown farm. Together with Dick and Bab we also met her daughter and son with a partner. All are very lovely people. The farm is beautifully situated with great views and has plenty of space. We would go back there anytime. Thank you very much. Fredi and Vreni from Switzerland.
Words cannot portray the beauty at Sundown Farm. Absolutely the best Boondocker property we have stayed at thus far. Wonderful hosts. Highly recommended.
We were heading north for the leaves and spent a memorable evening at Sundown Farm. Wonderful down to earth hosts and beautiful unending views across the fields. It was rainy when we arrived but morning mists in the distance the next day were absolutely magical. The sunsets must be amazing! Dick and Barb are fascinating people with a zest for life and a true appreciation for all that life offers. Well-traveled and still planning more! Thanks so much for hosting us and we hope to see you again soon, even if on the trail somewhere...XO Colleen and Werner
We loved staying on this property and would definitely go back. The views are absolutely stunning- one of the best we have had on boondockers welcome. Our hosts and doggy were very friendly and welcoming. The rain put a bit of a damper on our trip but we loved watching the storms roll in over the mountains and rows of corn. The parking was on gravel and it was easy to get in and out. We were sad to leave.
We had such a lovely stay at The Sundown Farm. We were treated to the most gorgeous sunset of our entire year traveling and so much beauty, peace and quiet. Our hosts were incredibly kind and made sure we were set up and comfortable. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!
Sundown Farms is absolutely beautiful! We were parked overlooking the Adirondack mountains and corn fields in a very quiet, peaceful area, and still had a strong phone signal. 🙂. Dick and Barb were a pleasure to meet and visit with and were as hospitable as could be. This place is highly recommended if you are in the area.
We never know how some "farm" locations will be to boondock at. This one is BEAUTIFUL, PRISTINE,and PEACEFUL with great long distance views of the mountains. Quick response from a generous host. We would definitely recommend staying here.if you are in the area.
Nice level spot by barn. Beautiful views of corn fields and Adirondacks. Picnic table too!! Lovely quiet spot. Never met the owner.
This quiet farm is so charming and has a magical sunset view of the Adirondacks. From what I’ve read on other reviews, I sadly missed out on meeting the host, but I’d love to stay here again, so maybe next time!!
Great place to stay, very quite. We did not get to meet the owners.
Sundown Farm has a great setup for boondocking, is quick to reply and a pleasure to stay with. Bonus view too.
Sundown Farm was an amazing location in an amazing place, one of the loveliest in the country – so generous and such a pleasure talking and getting to know them, albeit too briefly. hope to see them again!
Beautiful scenery , nice people, Sundown Farm could not do enough for us. Showed us around, helped me to park in the right location. Thank you.
We only spent two nights, but the weather and the location was splendid. Not only did our host meet us upon our arrival, but he suggested some places we could visit. I would recommend this place while visiting Vermont.
