We are Deb and Hans, a 60's+ retired professional occupation couple who travel with our 10 year-old canine companion Brooksby. We travel with our kayaks, backpacks, daysacks, cross country skis (seasonally of course) and bicycles, and we use all of them regularly. We are also both accomplished scuba divers. We became full time RVers in April 2017 after doing a 6 month, 14000 mile trip from Arizona to Alaska and back in 2016.
We are out to see the United States, Canada and more of Alaska for the foreseeable future. We hope that extends for many years to come.
We enjoy meeting people and sharing stories and ideas.
Hans is an all around handyman, having owned and managed over 20 rental units. He was/is an engineering geologist in coastal central California where he owned his own consulting business for 28 years. He installed the entire solar power system on our trailer. Deb is a great cook and a fountain of expertise and information about medicine and health as she was both an anesthetist nurse and a cardio-rehab trainer. We are both accomplished scuba divers.
Yes, a dog. He is very friendly once he knows you.
British Columbia, Alaska, Alberta, Montana, California and Arizona. Many more to come.
Our current domicile is Livingston, Texas. We most recently lived in Tucson, Arizona for many years. But we will always be Californians.
We travel and live in our 2016 25' Canadian Bigfoot travel trailer. We outfitted it with a super solar power system and upgraded the suspension so that we can take it just about anywhere we want to go and live off the grid. Our 4x4 Toyota Tundra gets us there. We prefer to boondock. We have no slide outs. Being backpackers and tent campers, our cozy Bigfoot is palatial digs for us.
I very much enjoyed hosting this couple for two separate stays. Brooks, their dog, is so quiet and friendly. Hans is quite the handy man and we became like garage buddies. Debbie cooked us a stir-fry dinner together on the night before they left an she also made sure to it that my dog was never ignored. It was sad to see them drive off but I look forward to the possibility of seeing them again. They are always welcome at my oasis.
Enjoyed the evening with these folks. They are on an adventure. Great visit hope they stop back by!
Hans and Debbie were very good to be able to host at our house. They were respectful of our property and privacy. We invited them to spend an evening with us and it was a fun evening sharing RV experiences especially about traveling to Alaska which we both have done. I would recommend them to any other host, you will not be disappointed. Gary Smith
Fell in love with this couple. Super friendly and fun to be around. They have decided to stop in again on their return trip for few more nights. Safe travels my friends.
