The hosts of big trees are some of the nicest folks you will ever meet. You are welcomed as friends and they have two little dogs that like to bark but are also very friendly. Our dog who is timid by nature took to them pretty quick and they started having a good time, playing around the yard.
The place is quiet except for hootie (the owl) in evening before he goes out to hunt. They are off of a gravel road about 25 min from Puyallup, 30-35 from Tacoma and about an hour plus to Seattle. While you can’t view Rainier from the property, the neighborhood provides some gorgeous views on a clear day.
If you are in the area, this is a good stop for a night or two. Thanks for letting us stay!!
Very nice couple who provided a lot of information about visiting a new area to us!
These hosts are awesome, and very accommodating. And yes there are big trees, as well as a couple of little bunnies I watched munch on their lawn. Very enjoyable stay, thank you Boondocker's Welcome and skyking/big trees.
What a cool person and place to stay!
The gate is a bit narrow, but it's worth sucking it in to get here. The host is super friendly, very knowledgeable about RVs, and has two little dogs who are just the sweetest. Ask him about what he's done with the fifth wheel out in the yard!
After joining boondockers, Skyking was my first stop/host. They were very accommodating and personable. I look forward to seeing them on the road one day, or the next time I pass through Washington State.
Skyking were an absolute delight to stay with. We stayed two nights while visiting Mount Rainier (just 1 hour away) and enjoyed chatting and sharing stories with them in the evenings. They have tons of great tips for traveling throughout Washington and Oregon, and elsewhere! They were also generous enough to let us leave our trailer with them for two days while we visited friends in downtown Seattle. Their dogs are adorable and cuddly, with tons of personality. And the spot was perfect - level, spacious, easy to get in and out, quiet and even gated! We would definitely stay with them again and hope they'll give us a shout next time they're in Georgia!
We enjoyed staying with Skykings , they were very accommodating and although had to leave for 2 days we were allowed to stay at their place.
Great starting point to Mt Rainier NW entrance.
This was our first time staying at a place through BoondockersWelcome so we were a little nervous trying it out. These hosts completely exceeded our expectations, one-thousand percent! We shared a few dinners and got to walk their dogs (not a chore for us), it was like instant family. We definitely recommend for anybody to stay there, they truly love hosting guests and being helpful, you'll love your stay with them.
The bar has been set pretty high now for other hosts that we meet on our trip hahah.
This couple were very welcoming and they treated me like family. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay with them.
We really enjoyed our several days here. Wonderful Hosts!! Their dogs are also great fun, but are fenced in if you are not a 'dog person.'
Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful experience staying with Kelly and Mary. They are a great couple that were extremely accommodating. They gave us information and recommendations on the area. Their property is in close proximity to Mt. Rainier and we got to go on a gorgeous hike while we were there. Kelly was even nice enough to try to fix our refrigerator and tongue jack for us, which unfortunately had not been working properly. It was a pleasure getting to know the two of them and touring the area. If we are ever back in the area, we would absolutely visit or stay with them again.
We stayed with them one night but were invited back if we needed to stay again. They were very kind to us and were happy to share lots of information with us about the cool places to camp, drive, hike, and boondock in and around the parks in the area. Their two dogs are very cute and friendly, we spent a lot of time chatting and petting the dogs and watching hummingbirds. We are so thankful to have met them and for hosting us!
Super nice couple that made me feel welcome. They made sure that I got in and settled and had everything that I needed. I stayed at their place in order to have a good base to make a trip out to Mt. Rainier.
Their property is in a quiet area which is just a bit out of the main town, but still only a few minutes from major retailers and such, so I found that to be ideal.
I have a 1997 31' Class C built on a Ford chassis. There is quite a bit of rig behind the rear tires, so I had a little trouble getting up the driveway because it is on a small incline, but I was able to make it. My hitch dragged a bit, but since it was gravel, it was ok. The driveway is short, but this is a challenge with my particular rig. You just might want to be aware of that before deciding to stay if you know you have the same issue.
Thanks so much, guys! I really enjoyed my stay!
Our hosts were very nice, they gave us advice on where to go and what to see on our route and they live in a beautiful, green, quiet place - we loved it!
I have great time.
I visited Kelly and Mary (Skyking1) on my way to Seattle. They live in just about 40 miles from Seattle. They offered to stay at they place and I parked my RV in they yard on beautiful grass lawn. Since they have large enough property to host Rally, I could pick my spot under nice pine trees and they provided free power. It was a paradise.
We make friends with Kelly and Marry and spent wonderful time together grilling our food on charcoal grill, having evening chat and exchanging informations. Since parking for RV is near to impossible in Seattle, Kelly took us for day trip in his car and we have a ball. Seattle is nice city to visit, but not RV friendly. Hard to get close to city and catch local transportation.
I would like to thank Kelly and Marry for their hospitality and offered friendship. For sure we will be coming to visit them soon again.
And I forgot dog Rocky. He is real champ. I was thinking to take him with us for rest of the trip but Kelly would cry his eyes out. Great dog.
