The space is on a level grassy area. The hosts sons were available for help. Water and electric was provided. The space is near a main road but traffic slowed at night. There are not many stores around so bring your supplies.
What a great first boondockers experience... John and Cindy we're super gracious and friendly hosts with a great spot.
Hope to meet up with them somewhere in the future and come back for a stay.
Bear poop :)
We just needed a good nights sleep . This place was it. The hosts were not here but had their son greet us. Very accommodating. We didn't need hookups but they were offered. We were off in the morning after a good nights sleep.
It was a brief visit but a nice one. The owners were very accommodating, even going so far as to set up a dog run system they used to use for their own dog! It was a very quiet and peaceful place to spend the night. (I was also lucky enough to get to see some of their daughter’s beautiful artwork!)
Loved our stay with Grabau - easy to back into the driveway with our trailer, and amazing hospitality from these great hosts :)
We a great time socializing with the host.
Location was across the street from the river so you can get a quick view in places along the road.
Street was low traffic and a great place to take a bike ride.
We had a great time and hope to meet up with the hosts again, even if not at their site. They also have friendly neighbors that we enjoyed meeting and spending time with.
We definately recommend staying here.
We were welcomed by three generations! We arrived late afternoon and left at daybreak, so we did not make use of available guest wifi, fire ring, etc. Concern for our comfort on arrival was nice.
J&C were great hosts. Their property is able to accommodate a large rig and they were very generous with electrical hookup, wifi, and had water available too. It was a quiet and peaceful location. They were very knowledgeable about the local area and provided local maps and information. J was very forthcoming with tips and hints and enjoyed giving us a tour of the property and his RV. This guy can fix just about anything!!
We had a great visit with the Grabau's. Nice famliy John & Cindy very helpful, we hope we have the chance to visit again.
Enjoyed our one night stay. Super friendly couple. Had good time conversing with them. Helpful and hospitable. Thanks Grabaus!
We stopped in for an overnight stay on our way back to Canada. We were made to feel very welcome and the host showed me some of the cool modifications he's made for his RV. We hit the road early so didn't get to visit much, but definitely appreciated their hospitality.
Wonderful hosts greeted us with what we're learning is good old fashioned down east hospitality.
They were waiting on us when we got there, they backed us up to an old barn, filled our water tanks and plugged us in to charge the batteries and a good nights sleep!
Thank you so much.
The hosts were there to meet us, get us parked and hooked up with 30 amp electric, water and WIFI! He said he had the portable sewer dumps and could dump us if needed. Cindy treated us to fresh warm cookies (talk about perfect timing). Level spot next to his garage. This is an awesome place with awesome hosts.
friendly met us to show us where to park, see that we got hooked up.we were running behind when we called them to let them know we would be later said they would leave the light on for us.
Grabau were wonderful hosts.
When we arrived in late June we were met by the family with a roaring campfire and excellent conversation for hours!
We learned so much about Maine, the climate, wildlife, and great spots to go hiking!
On our second day, Jessica and Nadia were shown about Old Town for a kids hike, while Robert and Daniel were guided to the Katahdin Iron Works and the Gulf Hagas waterfalls on a remarkable hike that included fording the Pleasant River!
We parked our Travel Trailer on their generously long and level driveway. They had 30amp service ready for us to plug into as well as water. We travel with a portable waste tank so we were able to empty our black and grey as well as they have an accessible sewer connection as well.
Grabau were great representatives of what Boondockers Welcome represents. We won't be back in the northeast for a couple years, but they are part of what made this trip and the state of Maine so wonderful and memorable.
We stayed at Grabau's for 4 nights and all the family treated us like we knew each other long ago. Great conversations about spots to see there (Maine) as well as New Hampshire where we were going next. We got 30amp electric and water and the camper as well as the little Fiat fit perfectly (big parking area). They were very kind, took a kayak ride together to a little river that goes right in front and also picked John's brain on all stuff RV related. Will be in touch if in the area again. Thanks again.
