Hi! My name is Jo. I am married forty eight year old female who is newly addicted to the RV lifestyle! I got a Coachmen Concord March 29th of 2017 after watching a million YouTube videos about rving. I hit the road March 31st (my birthday) and headed for California but first stopping in Texas before heading to California! I went to San Antonio, Texas to visit my parents' grave at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery and visited a few childhood friends as i grew up in that great city then headed to the Gila National forest for some boon docking with some friends who have decided to live off grid in the national parks. I made my way back to Greenbelt,Maryland (near D.C.)stopping at some really great sites i have seen on the travel channels and food network. I am already missing the life on the road so decided to make traveling a frequent activity. My husband who I adore, can't break away from his career to travel hence why i travel alone. I have already met such great people and seen so many amazing things that I cannot wait for it to continue. I stayed at a horrific "rv park" in Tennessee that had raw sewage, decaying dead animals, broken pipes, and downed live power lines and the place looked like a horror film could be shot there. People actually lived permanently there in these horrifically run down, dilapidated, trailers and it looked like a scene from Texas chainsaw massacre!! I had prepaid 35 bucks in a drop slot and saw no human ever BEFORE i saw the site so I decided to not totally waste the money and plugged in for the night with only the electricity draping my cord strategically over things as to not touch the drained sewage that someone had just drained from their tank without bothering to connect to the sewer... GROSS!!! (seriously was a case of put my shoes in a plastic bag to be cleaned later as to not get any funk in my RV!) I was glad to find Boondockerswelcome.com! This site was the perfect answer to saving money and never having to face that nightmare again! I am very excited to meet all the new people and see all the sites of our wonderful country!!
The Sequoias in the central valley of California will always be my love as they were the first place I ever really boondocked as a young adult. I also love love love the Port Aransas Texas area!!! I love to crab and eat what I catch for dinner!!
Converse, Texas right outside of San Antonio is where I grew up but later in my early twenties moved to the California central valley where I lived until recently moving to Maryland for my husband's job.
