enjoyed hosting dan and his parents, had some interesting comversation, welcomr back anytime
It was nice to meet Dan. He is welcome back any time.
No fuss no muss :-)
Dan is super nice and went out of his way to help us with some truck issues we were having. His property is absolutely stunning in fall. We were surrounded by gorgeous fall foliage. Our site had 30 amp hookup, water hookup, a fire pit and was nicer than many campgrounds we've stayed at! Frankfurt is such a cute town. We also visited Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City during our stay. The alpaca Farm just down the road was a great place to visit as well! Highly recommend this location.
daDesigns4u has a great setup and is a awesome host. Power, water and great wifi in a beautiful location. Could not have asked for better.
Host has a great sense of humor and is very helpful: hookups available, info packet, etc. everything you could need to Boondock quite nicely. Beware Bigfoot.
Very quiet location, Super nice host. Great place to stay. Thanks so much for having us.
A peaceful and beautiful place and da could not have been more welcoming! I hope to return and maybe stay a bit longer in the future. I'm definitely pleased with the BW experience.
Out in the country. Host was most helpful. 30amp or 15amp available. ATT cell was 80%. Enjoyed 2 nights stay.
Spacious, quiet location with very friendly host. Convenient to several lake options by car or bike . Easy in and out with water, 30 amp service, and level spots. We look forward to returning.
DA was a quiet but attentive host. He was generous with accommodating needs while we were there. We didn't get to interact a.lot due to our sightseeing in the area for the 2 days we were there, but our conversations about travel and rv-ing were warm and enjoyable. He has a nice site in a beautiful area. If your travels take you to this area of Michigan, don't pass up the chance to stay here. We will come back whenever we get back to this area. Thanks DA!
Very nice, interesting host. This was our second stay and it was just as enjoyable as the first. Beautiful spot, convenient location, and easy to get our 33 ft in, if you follow his directions.
This was a quiet, peaceful location which felt very safe with many accommodations if needed. Host provided us with a welcome package of sites and hiking trails in the area. Close to Frankfort which was a quaint small town with a beautiful beach. Had a lovely stay and would recommend to others.
What a friendly and attentive host. He greeted us, got us settled, provide a welcome packet and answered all our questions about the locale. He provides fire wood, water, and electric. Highly recommend this location!! Great place to see all of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
Thanks again for your generosity. Best place we’ve stayed so far.
Dan met us upon arrival and helped us get situated into our spot. It’s beautifully landscaped and feels very peaceful. He gave us local dining recommendations and also a bag of local attraction pamphlets. There is so much to explore in the surrounding areas. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Dan!
Well worth the $10 he charges for hook up. Nice, quiet and serene. Little to no traffic. Beautiful area. The host was great. Gave us information about the area. This is a must stay if your in the area! Thank you for hosting us!
I needed a place to stay for one night and Dadesign4u was a wonderful host. As a solo traveler I felt very safe. Dadesign4u’s property has great WiFi, electrical hook up and water. A nice fire pit area With a picnic table. I’ll for sure stay again.
Very nice host and an absolutely beautiful spot, convenient to several of the highlights we wanted to see. This has been our favorite stay so far!
Very congenial and well organized host.
Such a great place to stay and the host has spent a lot of time and $ to make it such a great place to stay. Very friendly and beyond helpful and kind.
daDesigns4u was a great host!
We had a nice quiet time and despite rainy weather, we checked out Betsy Point lighthouse and Sleeping Bear Dunes just a short drive away.
Kids loved it and we had a quiet, safe place to stay for a spell!
Communication with the host was easy before and during our stay. The host is very welcoming there when you need him, not when you don’t. The spot is easy to access and ours had shade most of the day. We were provided with excellent WI-Fi service along with 30amp elect. and water. The spots are on the back side of his shop and we had very quiet restful nights. This area is beautiful with orchards everywhere and quaint little towns around every bend. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.
Thanks, Monroe
Dadesign was very nice. Gave us a packet of things to do in the area. It was a pretty and quiet spot. Frankfort is cool with a biking trail and lighthouse a few minutes away. Close to sleeping Dunes lakeshore also. Would recommend staying here if you are in the area.
This site is a gem! Close to Sleeping Bear Dunes and surrounding fun. The host has made a cozy spot for Boondockers at his beautiful property in the country: a fire pit, outhouse, water pump, and wifi for guests! He even stocks firewood to sell! He shared travel magazines for the surrounding area to help us plan the rest of our trip along Lake Michigan. He was also very kind to accommodate our late request to stay. We very much enjoyed our quiet, star-filled night around the campfire. We hope to get to stay again in the future! We highly recommended this host.
Very nice spot with electric, water and WiFi! Host was very nice, and helpful with local sights and activities. Really enjoyed our stay!! Would definitely recommend.
Very friendly host and awesome site.
Host greeted us and we had great conversation. Property is beautiful.
I highly recommend the site and host and hope to get to come again, if in the area.
The Host (and Turbo) are very welcoming.
This is a great location from which to explore the area. Cherries, Blueberries, Rasberries, artesian Wells, farmers markets, summer festivals in small towns, lakes, beaches... And so quiet at night.
His ziplock bag of tourist brochures is a good start to help you start your explorations.
I’m sure glad to meet the Host. Hope we meet again.
I enjoyed a relaxing stay with my hosts near Frankfort. His mom took me blueberry picking nearby and hiking through the woods to a cherry and apple orchard. The sites are large and level with water and electricity. His dog Turbo greated me every morning to see how I was doing (and looking for a treat). I hope our paths cross again especially since we both like to winter in Florida. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.
Dan along with Turbo are wonderful friendly hosts! We were experiencing a little trouble getting set up and Dan graciously offered his assistance.
A packet full of information for the surrounding area was a big help. We received the most delicious eatery and ice cream recommendations.
Our site was so beautiful - peaceful and quiet.
My husband enjoyed chatting about rv traveling with Dan and sharing experiences.
Turbo is a sweet heart - and loves cheese.
Thank you, Dan, for a wonderful 5 nights!
Great place to stay. I was welcomed by a very friendly host and their mother. We had a wonderful time visiting and walking. Beautiful cherry trees, apple, and blueberry. Plenty of room for several campers. Close to Sleeping bear dunes. Host even had area maps. Very level and easy to get in and out. I hope to be able to come over again.
What a great host. Welcomed me at the road, provided local attractions info, fire pit/firewood, and a hearty welcome to Buddy from Turbo. I could not have asked for a better first time BW experience. Looking forward to returning here in the future.
This location is amazing and beautiful. There are orchards all around the area. We had a nice level gravel spot with 30 amp hookup and water. It had a picnic table and a fire ring as well (we kept wanting a fire but were having too much fun sightseeing). The host was super nice and helpful. He also gave us brochures for things to see in the area. We absolutely loved our time here and definitely want to come back.
This beautiful Western Michigan location exceeded all our expectations and needs! Dan had a campground-style electric and water hookup and even a fire pit next to a nice level parking place. Dan was super friendly and so was his very cool Mom who led us on a hike through the cherry and apple orchards behind their house. Dan even got a hammer and WD-40 to help me unjam my awning and got it back closed for the journey home. Thank you for a great place to stay at the last minute during a booked up 4th of July! Hope you come Boondock in Cleveland on your way South!
Our host was great, he had local information for us on happening events in the area. His property was beautiful with level sites and close to everything we wanted to see and do. We could not have asked for a better experience. Hope to visit again in the future.
Wow what a beautiful place to visit. Host was very accomidating and had eveything prepared for our stay. Will mark this as a place to visit when i have more time.
Awesome host! Was there to welcome us, send us off and everything in between. Provided us with brochures of the area, where to eat, etc. Visited with us in the evenings, swapping travel experiences, places to stay, etc. Oh, and can't forget Turbo!!! Have some cheese on hand for him and you'll have a friend for life. Highly recommend this host and definitely stay there again. Best!
This was a very nice stay and we took advantage of the many amenities including power, water, WIFI, and the host provided package of tourist info! Quiet, private, and very peaceful. Level parking. Easy access to many local attractions including charming Frankfort and its harbor, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, and several biking trails. Even a dog park near by!
Good to have a Boondocker in this area to access water and provide 30 amp if required.
Loads of room and level.
Too much rain or I would have had a go at fire pit.
Good person. EZ to stay there.
Thank you.😊
Dan, was a great host. He was very informative as what to do in the area. He even had Brochures for the local attractions. Dan is warm and personable. He made our stay very pleasant. Greygypsy
We really enjoyed our stay here. All the amenities and quiet were really appreciated! Highly recommend this location for anyone travelling in the area.
This was such a nice spot I decided to stay a bit longer, and I'm glad I did. There really wasn't enough time to explore all the quaint little lakeside towns in the area. From art, to history, to restaurants, shopping, and beaches, this host location is in close proximity to a little bit of everything. Be sure you don't miss the Cherry Bowl Drive-In for family friendly old-fashioned fun! The Dinghy on Main St. in Frankfort has incredible burgers... if you like yours rare, you'll get it exactly the way you ask for it. Can't say enough about how much I enjoyed visiting with this host and comparing notes on our BW experiences! Until next time!
What a great spot to “Boondock” for a while! This host offers more than what is asked, and while he runs his business on this location, he makes himself available without being intrusive. He gets a 5🐾 rating from my dogs too! Thank you for being so generous with your amenities! I’ll be back soon!
In addition to being a wonderful host this host site has the trifecta – electric, water, Wi-Fi. And also has a picnic table and a fire ring. He also has the cutest little dog that loves to play catch with his ball. The site was very quiet in the evening. Host was very helpful in providing maps and suggestions of things to do in the area. Also he gave us a great tip on getting a new Verizon plan for our jet pack with unlimited data and no throttling. Thank you for the great stay and hope to see you when you come to Florida.
dadesigns4u took us last minute and we had a wonderful 3 days there. The weather was not the best, but we strolled the orchards with our host. It is an easy drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
Great place to spend a nite. Easy good road from US22. Very interesting host. We can now claim we know the guy that designed the "Frankfort Fish". Thanks again Dan for a great stay.
Dan and his family made us feel very welcome. Dan gave us info on the area and let us tour his bus(s), and his momma (who is visiting him for the summer) took me on a tour of the woods and orchards around their land. It is only an easy (little traffic) hour from Traverse City, and very close to the quaint town of Frankfort and the southern portion of the Sleeping Bear Dunes. We highly recommend Dan and hope to stay with him again when we return to Michigan!
We really appreciated once again our stay with dadesigns4u at Frankfort. Go Turbo!
We had a shady, level spot to park in. This was a beautiful area and a nice drive in through the hills to get there. Host was welcoming and accommodating. Had a good night.
We stayed overnight with Dan. He met us early so we could drop our rig and explore the local attractions. He even had brochures ready for us! Really nice man and overnight stay. Highly recommend!
We did not have access to the internet and only requested a stay the morning of, when we found free internet. Our host was more than accommodating, he was laid back and most helpful. The welcome gift was awesome - talk about feeling special!. I met a lady that I feel will be a friend for life. I wish I had time to stay longer. The surrounding is calm and beautiful. We hope to get back in 2019!
Our family had an amazing stay here! Though we arrived later than expected, our host came out to visit around the campfire with us! He was wonderful and we really enjoyed meeting him, Turbo and Mom too!! Very friendly and hospitable, and we would love to make this home again sometime! Plenty of space for our large rigs here! dadesigns sets the bar high for boondocking! Thank you for a great experience!! (Mrs. Dieselnomad, for the whole crew!!)
We felt very comfortable as soon as we arrived. He had a great spot for us to park and went above and beyond with helping us know what there was to see around town and events that were going on. We enjoyed learning about his rig!
We so enjoyed our stay! Dan is wonderful host. He met us with a packet of information about the area, helped us get set up with water and 30 amp and made us feel generally welcome. It's a lovely piece of property that backs up to dense woods. I loved just sitting outside listening to the birds.
In addition to our wonderful campsite, I cannot say enough about the area! You are close to Traverse City, beaches, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and the nicest little towns you will ever find anywhere!
I hope our paths will cross with Dan's again!
Dan goes above and beyond just a place to park. Providing a fire ring with wood and a picnic table is a plus and the site was flat and quiet. Dan told us about some must-sees in the area which wee spot on! Great place!
As our first boondocking experience, Dan has set the bar pretty high!😊He was super hospitable and gave us pointers on where to go and what to do. His place was quiet and he provided wood so we could enjoy the cool Michigan evening by a campfire. If we are ever by here again we will definitely stop!
People like Dan make us love "Boondockers Welcome" even more!
Great Bus conversion, even greater human been.
Very convenient place with everything you need.
Thank you again Dan!
Perfect place, large area for parking, turning around, wooded, beautiful area, quite. Great place and an awesome host.Took the time to tell us about the area n had maps for us. Would recommend you go see for yourself. If we ever find ourself in this area again , we will be back.
Dan is a superb host, helpful, knowledgeable and knows the area. Turbo patrols the grounds - a great pup! Nice place for a stop amongst the fruit trees & farms of the northern lower.
This was a nice stop over on our way to Traverse City. Dan has made a nice place for his Boondocking guests. Thank you! And hope to see you down south :-)
Great host! Very friendly, helpful & kind. Wish we could have gotten to know him more. Great great great location to many things! Would stay again
Wonderful guy and easy level parking spot. I had fun throwing the ball with his dog.
Stayed one night...enjoyed some great conversation before we settled in for the night. Would have been great to talk even longer, but we both had early mornings planned for the next day! Beautiful area and so peaceful. Would certainly stay again!
Turbo was definitely a highlight of our stay and his people were lovely as well. Such a beautiful place to wander and explore looking for fairy’s with my children and being frightened by scary rabbits in the dark. Another great story and part of the adventure. Thank you very much for hosting us.
Nice experience. Greeted by Turbo before the host. Nice place and very nice guy. Hope he and Turbo make it down our way.
Dan was a welcoming host. He helped us get set up and even offered firewood and a fire pit. The boondocker spot has a picnic table and an area to sit and relax in the wooded site. We appreciate Dan's hospitality and give him the highest rating possible.
We had a very enjoyable stay with dadesigns4u - very accommodating host, fun to talk with, and very helpful about the neighborhood. Thanks so much!!
dadesigns4u was so lovely and accommodating, we'd love to stay with him again and recommend him to anyone and everyone! Location super convenient to some of the most beautiful areas of the country!
This host was thoughtful and engaging in every way, really. He eagerly provided us with an overview of the area: maps, personal recommendations, and even set out fresh water for our pups just prior to our arrival.
We enjoyed sharing some fireside time with him and his family, as well as his pooch TURBO!
Thank you, again, dadesigns4u, for MORE thank just a boondocking experience!
This couple and their family were a delight! They were understanding of the vagaries of cross country travel and let me change plans with grace! The location is very special: very rural but close to the highway and the lake. My spot was level and very pretty! They sent me off with directions to a scenic drive of the shoreline. I would have liked to stay longer.
I hope they will come stay with me in NY!
Molly
We had a great stay with dadesigns4u. Nice spot, friendly accomadating people, and a fabulous area to explore. Within a short drive to a couple of nice towns with beaches, dining, shopping, movies, etc. We highly recommend this host.
Host provided excellent directions with pictures to get to the site. Very nice level spot with electric and water. The property is quiet and surrounded by apple and cherry orchards. Close to Frankfort and Sleeping Bear Dunes. We had a great time sharing bus stories with the host and meeting Turbo.
