Someone is usually home all the time to welcome you. 2 night maximum.
Our second stay here for the weekend was great. Nice spot to stay and be local and away from the tourist shops.
Although host wasn't around for our stay she gave us directions on how to find the place and options to where we could park if we wanted to plug in.... Property was in a quiet residential area with close access to the beach and boat landing...Very nice and convenient to the Lewiston/Auburn area!!
We asked for a recommendation for a dinner restaurant and received perfect advice. My mussels were excellent!
The private pond was beautiful and very close by. We stayed in the driveway because their usual site was not available. It was easy to get into and out of with our 40’ rig. A very friendly family!
Lewiston has some beautiful downtown scenery and easy walking trails. Be sure to see the waterfalls in the middle of town.
Level, quiet, private and tranquil place. With electric and water on site. Lake swimming a short walk away. We would definately stay again if in the area.
We had a quick overnight stop at Mistou and it was great! They provided a private lot with water and electric hookups across from their home and the lake. We only met our host briefly but she was very friendly, responsive to communications, & accommodating. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed staying here as the hosts were very friendly and even had some family a similar age to our daughter so she could have some time with her instead of just adults. Very quiet neighborhood and easy to get in and out. They even gifted us with some delicious eggs fresh from their chickens!
Thanks again for letting us spend the night on our way to visit our grandchildren! Your family were very welcoming and helpful. Much appreciated!
Visiting friends and family in the area and this was just a quick and convenient overnight stopover so as to not have to do any night driving...Although host was not around on our visit she had given us good directions to her home and where we could park on the property. Access to both power and water were made available. A well appreciated rest stop in s very nice neighborhood in quiet setting..Thanks M.!!!
We absolutely enjoyed our stay here. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. We probably trimmed a few trees on our way up the road but no damage. We enjoyed the beach and the water was warm. The family was super welcoming and allowed the kids to be kids. We spend a lot of time talking about all the travels we both have done as families. It was great! Be back in a month.
We ended up having an extended stay with Mistou as a winter storm stopped us in our tracks heading south. Their warmth was genuine, sincere - and much appreciated. We only met part of the gang but hope perhaps to meet everyone next time around. We highly recommend this host.
We had an incredible stay here! It is an absolutely beautiful place and we couldn't have had better, more generous or kinder hosts. My kids loved the freedom to run around and play at the beach. It's not often you meet people you feel are now friends after two days, but we do with them!
The whole concept of boondockerswelcome is amazing, however; this host brings it to whole new level. Not only did they provide a spot of land for a few nights for us, but they opened their home, and their lives to us. We ate a lobster dinner with them, our kids played with their kids, and we went fishing and swimming at the lake. If you have the opportunity to stay here, the location is from a postcard, and is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing a piece of your heaven with us Mistou!
This very friendly RVer provided us a great spot by the garden ( their mistake :-)
It got dark around the time we got camp setup but hope to see the very nearby lake in the morning.
My 37' 5th wheel was on the edge of too big so you might have to take your time getting in but hey, it's worth it!
Very friendly, very nice children making happy noise, the free range dogs were out of town ;-)
A big thanks!!
Very great welcoming people.
They made all accommodations available for us.
Good to see you again !
We loved our time in Maine mostly because of the amazing place host lake peace and company. This was our favorite stop to date!!!
We stayed at Mistou's place for just over a week over Labor day. We were greeted by a lovely gentleman zooming around on a Segway, and were parked next to a full blooming vegetable garden for the first half of our stay.
We later moved down to the lake! How wonderful that spot was too.. watching the sunset and hearing the kids splash about. We did not require power because of our solar and there was a good water hook up there.
All the neighbours and family came to say hello, and offer their advice and helpful tips.. I'm sorry we didn't have any Whittaker's chocolate with us to share with you all!
There is a dump station just four minutes down the road - just give it a quick google.
I could rave on and on about this place :)
THANK YOU FOR HAVING US!
Mistou has a great spot for you to spend a day or two. There is electric (20 amp), water hook up if you need. Very nice neighborhood with access to a lake front beach and views. There may be some fresh vegetables if you get there at the right time. Mistou and family really make you feel at home.
