We live in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont (northeastern part of the state) which is very rural with several lakes and mountains. Dairy agriculture, forest industries, and tourism are major components of our economy. There are several nice golf courses and good fishing, hiking, and biking opportunities, etc.
I was welcomed warmly by the owners, given a sample of freshly pressed cider and shopped for maple syrup for myself and for gifts. Although I don't usually eat meat, I also purchased a steak for dinner. Then I followed the owner to my spot beside the sugar house where there was an electric hookup available. On top of a hill, I had a glorious view of the surrounding mountains full of fall colored leaves. Even the cows in the pasture got over their initial shyness and posed for a close up picture! I highly recommend this stop for a beautiful, quiet, restful stay in your travels.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Couture's Maple Shop. We camped next to the sugar house where they make the syrup. Our host was generous with his time and gave us a quick tour inside. Over 50 years of making syrup and still going!
Their store has everything maple and organic beef! We stocked up on both!
We had a wonderful view of the mountains and even met his neighbors who gave us some of their fresh eggs and wonderful conversation.
Thank you Couture Maple Farm!
We had a breeze of a check-in. Let us top of our water tank. And then took us up next to the sugar house. We got to overlook the hills around us. And even got to watch some of the cows playing around. It was a nice peaceful spot.
Really sorry we didn't get to meet our host. Absolutely great location with a fantastic view, beautiful farm, Maple Sugarhouse, Maple Shop and friendly cows. Thank you so very much and we hope to visit again if you will have us.
The spots for RVs are private and beautiful. We loved our stay and the host.
We had a lovely peaceful nights stay with gorgeous views! Highly recommend!
If you are close to here you have to stay! The spot by the sugar house has 30amp power and you are up the hill all alone with beautiful views of the mountains and pastures. We couldn’t spend enough time sitting outside the camper relaxing. Then add to that the hosts are amazing. They took the time to let our kids tour the milking barn and pet the baby calfs. Then as of it needed one more positive they have a shop where you can buy maple syrup and products that were literally made beside where you are parked! If you have never had maple cream be sure to get some from them. Hands down our favorite location we have stayed at so far.
We had a great stay. Hosts were very nice. Don’t miss the maple shop!!
We enjoyed the beauty of the area. We loved shopping for Vermont maple syrup and visiting the B and B. Host is the nicest! I got to see cows! A real treat to stay here. Hope to come back!
We had a marvelous stay at the sugar house. The hosts are amazing and the view was perfect! Thanks so much! One tip to future guests, buy the large maple cream!! So worth it!!
The Maple Farm is a beautiful setting. The hosts were so kind and fun. Would love to stay there again.
We arrived during a a windy and rainy afternoon and found Jake and Pauline in their Maple shop, which smelled incredible. We had a nice discussion with them and they told us about their dairy farm and maple syrup operation. We were given two options for parking our rig, next to the dairy barn or up the road next to their sugar shack. We parked next to the sugar shack and Jake was nice enough to give us a little tour, describing how everything works. We were very interested since we are maple syrup hobbyists ourselves. It was neat to see a “real” sugaring operation! We enjoyed a peaceful night and were back on the road in the morning.l
We were welcomed with smiles and stories. Enjoyed the quaintness and serenity of the farm life. Shopping at the Maple store was a sweet treat. Thank you for our needed R&R.
Not only their Maple syrup, their welcome was Sweet and warm.
Thank you so very much for letting us stay on you beautiful property.
Was amazing to get to know you and hear about your family, which you are very proud of.
Hopefully you can travel much more in the future and we may see you somewhere again.
All the best.
Jacques and Pauline were gracious hosts. They were very welcoming and we throughly enjoyed our time with them and their farm and the fruits of their labors (Vermont Pure Maple Syrup)! Watch their video about the sugar maple syrup industry. Very interesting and informative. Five stars for the Coutures!
This was a very nice stay. Hosts were welcoming and friendly. They gave our grandson a nice tour of their diary farm and maple operation. The nearby town held their Octoberfest fundraiser with local crafts and food.
What a wonderful first stay in Vermont. Our hosts were the nicest people you could ask for. Made us feel so welcome and shared info about their working farm. The view was awesome...we will always picture it as our first impression of Vermont. Enjoyed buying in the shop, seeing the video on maple syrup gathering. Lots of information on what to see in the state. The chocolate beet muffins you gave us ...delicious! And the sights recommended have been spot on. Thanks for the memories J & P😊
Wonderfully warm and welcoming hosts. They took time out of their busy schedules to chat with us and tell us all about their multi-faceted farm. Gave us good leads on fun stuff to do in the area and we were pleased to be able to purchase Maple Syrup and grass fed beef from their farm. Would definitely visit again if in the area.
We’ll definitely be back. So enjoyed getting to know you.
We stayed overnight in our 30 foot RV. Access was good with a level grassed site. Despite prior significant engagements our host was obliging and informative .

Our hosts were very friendly & enjoyed sharing their vast knowledge of the maple syrup process. We purchased a variety of maple products, all of which they make themselves. We really enjoyed our stay.
Travelling around in Vermont for the Victoria Day long weekend from Ottawa. Staying with Jake and Pauline was a highlight and a moo-ving experience ! For our first time boondocking, they have set the bar very high for future stops!! Jake and Pauline's warm hospitality and organic dairy/maple syrup farm emulate all things you would hope for and more. Jake took time on his Sunday to show us around the barn. We learned so much about their cows , dairy and maple business. We saw some baby calves and met Shelly the resident duck plus picked up some delicious cheese and maple products from their store. They also run a charming bed and breakfast and so close to the Canadian border and Jay Peak resort. It was a breeze parking our 22 ft RV on their site and had a few options where to park. Our 14 and 11 year old boys really enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you Jake(Jacques) and Pauline for opening our eyes to your world which you care so much about. We look forward to our next visit!!
We stayed one night at the Coutures farm and although the weather was cold and rainy, we enjoyed a very relaxing evening after a long day of leaf watching (Beautiful). It was quiet and far off the road and it’s not a busy road at night anyway. We met Jacques and Pauline the next morning and were introduced to maple syrup making and did a tasting. The hosts were super busy with their store but took time with us so we could choose the right syrup for us. They are genuine, authentic and ever so kind. You will like them too. Best wishes, Colleen and Werner and greetings to you both. Hope to meet again.
Our stay here was short but sweet. The family was warm and friendly and we were allowed to tour their dairy operations. If you are able to stop here, check out their expansive maple syrup products. Beautiful scenery during fall.
Our hosts were very welcoming and kind. Their farm was beautiful and their maple syrup and other treats were delicious! We would love to go back and visit again some day.
We had such a nice time at the Couture’s maple store and farm! Jacques and Pauline are such hospitable hosts, so willing to share their knowledge regarding the process of making maple syrup. We were even able to take a walk in the hills above the farm and see just how the trees are tapped and how the lines are run to the sugar house - for us, a really unique experience. Couture’s is a great place to purchase quality maple syrup, as well as other maple products. Highly recommended!
We had an amazing stay at Couture's Maple Shop! They were very accommodating and offered a spot with an unrivaled view of the beautiful Vermont mountains. We enjoyed seeing their dairy cows, learning about the maple process and the peacefulness that is in the Northeast Kingdom. By the way, we loved your farm's syrup and cream!
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Couture's Maple Shop! They are wonderful hosts-welcoming and very friendly. We parked our rv at their sugar house on the hill overlooking the dairy farm and surrounding hillside. After cycling the local roads, we toured the organic dairy farm and visited the maple shop. The maple syrup and maple hot sauce are irresistible! Our first experience as a Boondocker and already we know we will be sure to return to the Coutures again!
We enjoyed boondocking, exploring the farm, seeing the cows, watching a video on how maple syrup is made. Most of all we enjoyed meeting our wonderful hosts.
