Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostFox Island waterfront. 37' Class A space for sure. May have room for up to 40'. Need to be fairly adept at backing to get into the space. Towed trailers may have difficulty getting into the space. Look at the photo's to assess your access. We do have a dock on Puget Sound and an area for tents.
If you are not an adept RV'er (especially trailers) you may have difficulty getting into the parking space.
Nearby parking.
Most times when we are home.
A gracious host. I had privacy,, comfort and security. The carport roof was most welcome on a stormy night.
Great place, beautiful island and kind a warm hosts. Thanks
Loved it here. Great Wifi. Host and hostess helped with set-up. 30 amp power, water, dump area. Would definitely stay again when in the area. Gerre and Cathy made sure we had everything we needed and more. We have a 32' Tiffin coach with towed. We followed instructions sent by host and did not have any trouble going up drive and parking. Highly recommend following instructions provided by host. Gerre and Cathy were very gracious, welcoming and helpful.
Such kind hosts who were so beyond accommodating! We got to pick from their beautiful garden which was delicious. Such a peaceful and relaxing area to stay!
We had a great experience with this host. They have a lovely spot on the water & have a great garden & let us pick fresh veggies which we really enjoyed & appreciated. They offered us a book & map which outlines the history of Fox Islsnd which was very cool. We really enjoyed chatting & visiting with them & would love to come back in the future
Crossing to the location was like the bridge to a magical garden. Da Bus was also super handy and generous with his skills as he corrected my damaged step. I relaxed after dinner picking wild blackberries next to the beach watching the sunset over the mountains. Wonderful!
Great hosts! Super friendly and gracious! Thanks for the island information and the fresh veggies:) Our stay was very pleasant and quiet. We even got to use the dock and got our kayak out in the bay. Loved our conversations and hope to come back if in the area again!
Thanks guys for allowing us to stay!
We really lucked out with these guys and this spot on Fox Island! We needed to arrive a day late and communication was easy and gracious. Then, we stayed a day later! The site is wonderful, quiet, shaded and my bedroom window gave me a daily view of the birds, squirrels and raccoons (!) who see their garden as "public". WE were able to visit Tacoma and several nice places around here as well as use the book and map they gave us to drive around and see Fox Island. Just can't say enough positive about our stay and hope maybe they'll come east sometime when we are at our host site!
Jerre and Kathy are the sweetest people and their place is beautiful. Our favorite part was all the wildlife around the house. Beautiful birds eat at bird feeders right outside your window. The house is on the water. We went on a short walk and came face to face with two deer.
Do yourself a favor and park on the side of the road before your last right turn onto their road. Jerre knows the best way to come in. He is so helpful. We goofed and accidentally went into a ditch on one side. It was quite the spectacle as we blocked the neighbors from going in and out. I am so thankful for these gracious people that patiently waited with us as a the tow truck got us out. What a blessing Jerre’s calm demeanor was in that stressful situation. On second run he helped us get into the space and we had no problem getting in or out.
We had a wonderful time and are glad our first experience with boondocker’s Welcome was with such amazing hosts!
We cannot say enough about how welcoming Jerre and Kathy were. From the beginning, they responded quickly to our inquiries and offered helpful advice. We had a later departure than expected and ran into traffic delays along the way, thus arriving at their unknown place in the dark- not the best situation but our hosts took it in stride.. Their directions had been perfect and easy to follow. With flashlights and tips they watched and guided us so we could get our 36' motorhome turned around the bend into the driveway and then back beside their house. They encouraged us to use their electricity, water and wifi. From the minute we met them we felt right at home, and enjoyed chatting with them in the morning and meeting and petting their lovely dogs. They told us about another auto museum to visit and Kathy even printed off directions for us. It was so nice to be invited to stay another night if we wanted to explore the area longer, but unfortunately for this visit it didn't work as we were on a tight schedule.
The area is lovely, and very quiet and peaceful. The small toll fee for the bridge going back across to Tacoma is well worth it to be at a great location and with such delightful hosts. We do hope we can return to visit their place at Fox Island at another time.
They have a straight shot view of Mt. Rainier (however it was not visible for us due to smoke). They have a big grass area which was great for our dog. We took a nice walk to a sandy shore. The hosts were very friendly and we enjoyed having a drink down by the water one evening! One thing to keep in mind is the toll for the Tacoma Narrows bridge ($6/car + $3/axel). Would certainly return if passing through again!
We spent a great two nights and really had a nice time. They have 3 great dogs, but they are small and they keep them in a separate room if you not a 'dog person.' We are dog friendly and we shared our attention between our host and hostess and playing with the dogs. A good time was had by all.
This is a wonderful place and we look forward to returning when we pass through.
FYI!! Get phone directions. They are simple directions, but some GPS maps are not correct.
We had a quick stopover on fox Island and our hosts were very gracious. They went out of their way to print directions to various attractions our family might enjoy. Though we could not stay long, we enjoyed the peaceful setting and the gorgeous sunset over the water.
