Have you stayed at this host location?
Fox Island waterfront. 32' Class A space for sure. May have room for up to 36'. Need to be fairly adept at backing to get into the space. Towed trailers may have difficulty getting into the space. Look at the photo's to assess your access. We do have a dock on Puget Sound and an area for tents.
If you are not an adept RV'er (especially trailers) you may have difficulty getting into the parking space.
Nearby parking.
Most times when we are home.
We cannot say enough about how welcoming Jerre and Kathy were. From the beginning, they responded quickly to our inquiries and offered helpful advice. We had a later departure than expected and ran into traffic delays along the way, thus arriving at their unknown place in the dark- not the best situation but our hosts took it in stride.. Their directions had been perfect and easy to follow. With flashlights and tips they watched and guided us so we could get our 36' motorhome turned around the bend into the driveway and then back beside their house. They encouraged us to use their electricity, water and wifi. From the minute we met them we felt right at home, and enjoyed chatting with them in the morning and meeting and petting their lovely dogs. They told us about another auto museum to visit and Kathy even printed off directions for us. It was so nice to be invited to stay another night if we wanted to explore the area longer, but unfortunately for this visit it didn't work as we were on a tight schedule.
The area is lovely, and very quiet and peaceful. The small toll fee for the bridge going back across to Tacoma is well worth it to be at a great location and with such delightful hosts. We do hope we can return to visit their place at Fox Island at another time.
They have a straight shot view of Mt. Rainier (however it was not visible for us due to smoke). They have a big grass area which was great for our dog. We took a nice walk to a sandy shore. The hosts were very friendly and we enjoyed having a drink down by the water one evening! One thing to keep in mind is the toll for the Tacoma Narrows bridge ($6/car + $3/axel). Would certainly return if passing through again!
We spent a great two nights and really had a nice time. They have 3 great dogs, but they are small and they keep them in a separate room if you not a 'dog person.' We are dog friendly and we shared our attention between our host and hostess and playing with the dogs. A good time was had by all.
This is a wonderful place and we look forward to returning when we pass through.
FYI!! Get phone directions. They are simple directions, but some GPS maps are not correct.
We had a quick stopover on fox Island and our hosts were very gracious. They went out of their way to print directions to various attractions our family might enjoy. Though we could not stay long, we enjoyed the peaceful setting and the gorgeous sunset over the water.
