We left this home feeling like we’d just met family. Thank you for an amazing experience! 💙
Due to a stop at Walmart & a wrong turn, we showed up later than we planned. Got a chance to chat a little with the hosts but would have loved to have chatted longer. Great hosts, we hope to make it back another time.
Great spot and very good people. Nice spot, electric and water was awesome. Highly recommend, Susan was very personable and great host.
Thank you snelson600! Fabulous welcome. Wonderful spot to camp. It was a honey of a spot. Great views of a forest fire in the Sapphire Mountains. The gentle lowing of the cows puts you to sleep at night. The hospitality of this host was awesome. They are welcome at our campfire anytime. Thank you! ~TD
What a terrific and memorable experience! A deer in the yard, sweet bees buzzing, and a lesson about thistles. Snelson600 provides a perfect spot for great views. Your GPS might take you to on an adventure, so pay close attention to directions!
Susan & Richard are SUPER HOSTS! Thank y’all for gracefully sharing your beautiful place with us! GPS took us straight to their location. Nice wide roads and easy access for any size rig. They had 30 amp electric and fresh water hookups for us and helped us get setup. Susan picked some fresh green beans out of her garden and shared some with us. They were delicious! I prepared a meat, cheese and fruit tray and we sat on their back patio socially distancing was practiced as we enjoyed getting to know one another. It felt like we had met old friends. They gave us a jar of homemade honey. They raise Bee’s and make honey and honey products. We were thrilled to see how it all worked. Bee’s are so amazing! We bought some spreadable creamed honey that you can use on toast or put in hot cereal or even stir some into your coffee or tea! We got a cinnamon one and one with fresh ground vanilla beans. I cannot wait to try them for breakfast tomorrow! Their place has spectacular views of the Bitterroot Mountains on the west and the Sapphire Mountains to the East and South. We saw Red Breasted Robins and a few deer. If y’all are ever in Texas we would love to host y’all. Blessings, John & Brenda
Deer in the yard, honey bees buzzing, and the view between the Bitterroot and Sapphire mountains. Picturesque is an understatement. The only thing to top it off is an exceptional host! Thank you snelson600 for great directions, good company, and fun conversation.
Susan and Richard were incredibly friendly and helpful. They made us feel comfortable And welcome. We even enjoyed a spectacular sunset with them and some of their family. We hope to see them again soon’n
What can I say....our host were absolutely amazing. The view of sunsets from their farm rendered us speechless. They knew the history of the town and provided us with the name of a rv retailer who fixed a minor nuisance. So grateful. Finally, as a parting gift they gave us a mid sized container of honey produced in the farm. Which is on par with brand I've ever consumed. Think Newman's own...The SNelson600 are absolutely the salt of the earth and we will never forget our time there.
Our hosts, Snelson600 were excellent and right off the start, helped us get into our spot and set up for our stay. She also had a ton of area information for things to do nearby. I honestly could have sat in my chair all day and just looked at the mountains, spectacular views! I have been waiting for some big sky Montana nights for star gazing and our last night there was just about perfect. And wouldn't you know it....our hosts were avid astrologers with quality equipment. I saw the Milky Way, Saturn's ring and moons, and there was a rare comet passing which were all first's for me. Thank you snelson600!!! If I ever find my way back to western Montana, I will definitely stay with these hosts. Oh...and they are beekeepers and sent us on our way with some honey, awesome.!
Great stay. Super friendly and very generous host. It was great having the morning coffee and chat. Property had plenty of room for large rigs and we appreciated the electric. And waking up to the beautiful view of the mountains is that bad either:)
Thank you for the herbs and lettuce, will not be wasted! I just expanded my indoor garden:) If in the area again, will definitely stay again.

What a beautiful 2 nights we had! Richard escorted us to the best parking spot, views of 340°'s of the valley. We set up our camp chairs and took it all in for hours. One of our reasons for the trip was to just relax and take in the beauty and calmness. Susan stopped by a bit later to greet us and tell us all about the area and included a tote filled with area information. This morning we had to say our farewells early and Susan treated us to some of her honey. Can't wait to try it! We know when we are in the area again we'll be requesting another stay and get to know Susan and Richard better!
Our hosts were great! There was plenty of room and they even let us hook up to power. Their outdoor living area is beautiful and I’m so thankful they shared it with us! Brayden loved the otter pops!!
Snelson600 were amazing hosts! They communicated well and were very generous. The spot is beautiful with snow capped mountains all around and a short drive into Missoula. I hope I get to come back again soon!
Wow what an amazing property! The 360° view from our rig was breathtaking! snelson600 were such great hosts sharing their property and their experiences of living in that valley. The bee keeping is fascinating to hear about. They provided us with a bag of local information to look through for finding some sights that we would want to visit. We spent a lovely time on the porch for dinner and we got some of that amazing honey and other beautiful gifts to cherish! Thank you for everything you two!
We changed our plans due to heavy rain and drove an additional 4 hours and arrived a day early - which the host was super flexible with us arriving a day early. They were very helpful with getting settled in - came out to greet us and get us all set up with elec/water. Got to spend some time in the morning (before continuing our journey) with our host and even got a jar of honey from their own bee hives!
Thank you so much for allowing us to stay the night at your beautiful place in Montana!
These hosts will make you feel right at home! We had so much fun talking and sharing experiences. Without going into detail, we’re still laughing about some silly stuff during this stay.
They were so awesome with our 2-year old daughter too.
And the promised beautiful Montana sunset actually came true.
Thanks a lot for the great memories we take from this stay. Lots of love from T, N & T
I was greeted me in the driveway when I arrived. Helped me get water and electric and pick out a space for my RV. She knew the names of my animals and inquired about them before I had even gotten settled. She was so enthusiastic and happy to have me there! Enjoyed some time with them the next night with for dinner which we cooked together. Their honey is amazing! I feel as if I have made friends for life. :-)
This is the best Boondockers Welcome location we have visited so far. The hosts went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. A++. Great people, great conversation. Good road and field for walking the dogs. We highly recommend!
Snelson600 were the best hosts ever. We felt welcome from our first meeting and were very sad to move on. They gave us ideas about the local town and points of interest in the area. We were gifted with a jar of their homegrown honey which is delicious and our stay on their ranchette was extremely comfortable and easy access to the nearby town of Stevensville and Missoula was only 35 minutes up the road. We will be back in the future for sure!
We very much enjoyed the hospitality at this beautiful spot. They were understanding of some delays we had in getting to them. The offer of power was much appreciated. Would happily stay here again. Gorgeous big sky country!
The Snelson600 was everything and more than advertised. A rewarding stop overnight in our journey with great conversation and quiet sleep. We thank you very much and our hosting site is available to y’all at anytime you can get into South Carolina.
Our hosts were awesome. We stayed here over 4th of July and had a 180 degree view of fireworks. Truly fantastic views of the Bitterroots out our windshield. 30 amp electric hookup was much appreciated. This was our first Boondocker Welcome stay and we really appreciate the opportunity to stay over a holiday. Thanks!
Lovely country setting, with an amazing morning view of the Bitterroot mountains. Hosts were very friendly, giving us a tour of their beekeeping operation and offering helpful tips for our upcoming visit to Yellowstone. Thanks so much!
Unfortunately snelson600's weren't home the night of our stay so we didn't meet them in person. A friend who was visiting in his RV was there to greet us and very helpful getting us setup. Our stay was great and very quiet. We slept like babies. The instructions provided by Susan were perfect no problems finding there place. Garmin would have gotten us there, but it would have been down a goat path, so I'd definitely get directions from Susan or Richard. Thanks for the great stay, tickledpink
Lovely place, Susan very friendly & helpful. Richard has an amazing visual exhibit
We had a great time exploring the Bitterroot Valley. Great hiking trails suggested by our host. I learned a lot about bees, rocks and the universe. Wonderful folks, would love to get back there in the future
Susan & Richard were very gracious hosts. It was our first BW stay, and it was wonderful visit. Susan sent detailed directions, and they both personally welcomed us. We really enjoyed our time on their beautiful property, and had some great chats with them periodically during our stay. Finally, they are both beekeepers, and we bought a few jars of of their delicious honey.
Susan and Richard are amazing! They did everything to make our stay perfect and memorable as our first Boondockers Welcome experience! Their 8 acres lies in the beautiful valley between the Bitterroot mountains and the Sapphire mountains. they gave us lots of great ideas for sightseeing and places to eat. They gifted us with a jar of their own home made honey as bee keepers for over 30 years, best we've ever eaten! Sunsets and daytime views were gorgeous! We highly recommend staying with these great people, who we hope will be friends for life!
We were so warmly welcomed by our hosts, who provided water and electric service and plenty of room for our rig. When bad weather delayed our departure, we asked to stay another day. Not only were we encouraged to stay but the kindnesses magnified at that point. We had a wonderful time in this beautiful location and hope to reunite with these fine folks in the future.
Although we didn't end up staying in Stevensville on our way west, our host was so friendly and accomadatinh, I would love to return!
A nice place. Susan have us great recommendations and her friend was very helpful. We went to the Metcalf refuge and saw our first owls in the wild. Had a great dinner downtown and listened to live music at a nice brewery.
We had such a lovely time here! The hosts were so warm and welcoming to us. Beautiful location right in the middle of Montana country and it was quiet. The hosts were so gracious and even showed us their sun scope and gave us a jar of their homemade honey. I feel like we made friends here. We would go back if we find ourselves in Montana again. Thanks for a wonderful time.
We had a wonderful stay at snelson's home. They shared their love of the Earth and the skies with us and helped us find great places in Missoula for our day trip.
For our first boondockers experience it worked out great. It was easy to find their location and easy to pull in with our 5th wheel and get set up. Susan and Richard were quite busy getting ready to head out on a trip of their own but took the time to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We had a good time on Saturday exploring Stevensville and taking in the farmers market and the parade that honored community service that took place that day. All in all good experience. Wish them the best.
Precise directions and quick communications are always appreciated when traveling. The nelsons exceeded my expectations.
What a beautiful and peaceful spot. Surrounded by mountains. I wish we had more time to get to know the Nelsons, but we have to move on. Too many places to see and things to do.
They are very welcoming and helpful.
I stayed with the Nelsons for a weekend some time ago - there's recommendation below about it - and this time got to return and sing and play. As it turns out, Susan's taste in music overlapped mine, so we sang together on the deck. On a beauftiful evening. In a lovely location. It probably won't be until next summer but I plan to return. Good folk!
Friendly folks, serene setting, super stay! Hope to come back someday, if they'll have us!
snelson600 has a beautiful property. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet the owners, but they had made arrangements to help get me set up. Thank you for allowing me to stay at your property, it was a pleasure!
We had a great time staying here and the hosts were super helpful and friendly. They answered all of our questions and even gave us some great resources based on where we are traveling to next. I would love to stay here again, and I highly recommend it!
The location is every bit as great as they say it is! More to the point, however, is that the host couple (Susan and Richard) are great folks to spend time with. I don't know how to tell the software that they accepted a request to stay another day - but that's the kind of people they are. I expect I'll be returning - either shortly or next year. I may have to get on a waiting list at this point - but it would be worth it!
Our hosts gave us wonderful information on local attractions and took time out of their busy schedule to sit and talk. The spot was lovely with easy access with their directions. Such a joy to sit and relax while looking at that Mountain View. We hope to return someday.
Beautiful views no matter where you look.
Hosts were very friendly. Great place to stay.
Great conversation, beautiful scenery, beautiful historic area. Would like to return and continue getting to know the hosts. Very accommodating new friends.
This was our first Boondockerswelcome experience. I think we got spoiled..... The property views were amazing! Susan and Richard were wonderful hosts! Lots of great conversation that included bees, fossils, geology, astronomy, butterflies, travels...... Susan gave us suggestions on places to visit in Stevensville, including a great hike at the Kootenai Creek Trail about 15 minutes away. Thank you both for opening your lovely space to us! See you in September! <3

Prime example of BDW at its best!!
We stayed at SNelson in 2017 and knew we had to request another stay when our travels would bring us to their area in 2018.
They are an awesome couple with an interesting travel history and hobbies.
If only we could see them more often.
Thanks again for letting us boondock on your propertu and hope to see you sometime down the road!
We spent one night here, and couldn’t be happier! The backdrop of mountains and peaceful quiet was better than expected, and Susan had a wealth of knowledge about the area.
The 30 amp electric hookup was great and there was water available as well, but we didn’t use it.
If all people could be like, the world could be better. Thanks for your hospitality when we arrive so late. We spend one night and it was so light. Continue to protect bees for all. Our daughters thanks you
We spent 2 nights here and while the smoke from a local fire obscured the view of the mountains during the day we were treated to the most grogious sunset. We also were treated in so many other ways... concise directions, great conversation,a great insight on gardening and beekeeping... our host are real stars and honeys. Hope to connect again some time... btw I meant to ask about the raptor in the rafters...
My wife dogs and I thoroughly enjoyed our few nights stay. Waking up surrounded by mountains was great but conversation with our hosts was better! We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.
A bit off the beaten path; but well worth it for the friendly hosts and the excellent views of the mountains!
We would definitely stop by here again if we're in the area - if they let us :)
Clear and precise directions to their home, good communication, detailed maps to get to local attractions and greeting us in the yard -- great hosts!
This couple is welcoming and genuine. We sat on their deck and talked about everything and nothing while getting acquainted.
As we can't back up with our toad attached to our motorhome, they even made sure we could turn around in their yard without unhooking! Power and water were available.
Glorious views of the mountains in a tranquil valley with wonderful hosts. If you need a place to park while in Montana, even if you have to detour out of your way, this is one stop you want to make. We hope to cross paths again.
Thank you very much!
A++. Best. Ever.
This was definitely a positive experience for us and hope to return if our path takes us this way again. The property has a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and it was very quiet. Our GPS took us on a few gravel roads off of Hwy. 93 but the roads were graded and it wasn't a problem. These hosts are friendly, warm and welcoming and generously shared some veggies from their garden. We were even treated to a photo shoot of our *whole* family (including our two kitties). We would definitely recommend these fellow boondockers as hosts or guests. Thanks to snelson600 for sharing their lovely property as Boondockers Welcome hosts!
