Have you stayed at this host location?
Located a short 20 miles from Interstate 80 and Elko Nevada, at the base of the beautiful Ruby Mountains, our "backyard" of adventure awaits you. Just minutes from hiking, fishing, hunting, mountain biking, ATVing, boating and much more we would love to host your RV stay. Our small community is rich in the Basque and Cowboy cultures, represented by several yearly festivals (January- Cowboy Poetry, July- Basque Festival & Silver State Stampede Rodeo) which brings visitors from around the globe. Although, ranching is still a valid part of our livelihood, our current economy is driven by one of the largest North American gold deposits and an industry of mining that surrounds it. Whether you are here to experience our wilderness, explore the trail of the fated Donner Party (home of the Donner Trail Interpretive Center), try your luck in the local casinos, or just enjoy a slice of the simple life by slowing down and relaxing in the wonder of the west, we would love to host your RV stay.
Accommodation Notes: We will do our best to accommodate up to two RVs, however being in the foothills of the rubies presents a challenge for finding somewhat level ground to host multiple longer rigs. We will do our level best to make a spot for you. TOAD Vehicles are welcome, but depending on total length may need to be unhooked and parked sepretly. We do have limited electricity hook up for one RV. You may use your generator till a respecatable hour in consideration of our neighbors (around 9 PM) We have access to water and you are more than welcome to use our hose to fill your tank but it's not the most convienant set up to be hooked up on a continual basis.
We want you to be aware that we have a Golden Retriever that pretty much has the has the run of the property, we will do our best to keep him out of your way. We also have multiple cats that are both indoors and out.
Please contact us and we will we will do our best to try to work out any accommodation hurdles.
We have a large lot and will find a place to squeeze you in
Our availability is based around our travel plans which centers around our rotating schedule. Send us an email with you desired dates and we will work to try and coordinate schedules to accommodate your needs.

We had another excellent boondocking experience at Ruby View site. Beautiful view of the RubyMountain and excellent spot to overnight on our trip. Very much appreciated. Thanks again. Hope to return the favour one day. 👍🏽
We woke up to the beautiful snow-capped mountains, wonderful hospitality and conversation from Susan. Thank you for making our short stay so welcoming!
The couple who host here were very nice! The spot is simple, and in a safe neighborhood. It was exactly what we needed for a quick overnight spot. Thank you!
Our stay here was supposed to be 2 days but ended up only being 1. However it was a great one! Susan was so helpful and her property worked well, even for being 44 feet long! Thank you Susan for your hospitality. Hopefully we cross paths again and maybe next time it'll be when you're on the road too :)
We had a fantastic time boondocking on Susan and Karl's property. They are very welcoming, our children loved playing with the dogs and running around the yard. We spent the day hiking in Lamoille Canyon and the views were breath taking. One of the best hikes we've done on our trip. Hopefully we'll be back someday!
We ended up staying for 3 nights at this lovely location with great views of the Ruby Mountains. A lovely family to spend time with, we had a great time - thank you
We truly enjoyed our stay at Ruby View. The family is adorable and very friendly. We would love to stop in again and enjoy more of the surrounding area.
Was greeted upon arrival and told where to set up then later joined part of the family in the shade and had great conversation. Later we shared stories on the front porch as we had wine and cheese. I really felt included like I was part of the family. The world needs more people like these.
An incredible stay! Such a wonderful family! It was great getting to know them all, sitting around chatting until all hours of the 'night'! LOL! Beautiful views of the surrounding Ruby Mountains and super suggestions from the host on where to go to get even better views too! Love you guys! Hopefully we'll see you again!

We really enjoyed our stay especially because you have a wonderful view of the Ruby mountains ⛰! Our hosts were so accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed the dogs and cats . They gave us great information about the area. We went to Lanoille Canyon Recreation Area which was so scenic, thanks to our hosts for this recommendation! We will be back sometime in the future because the hosts were wonderful people!
We enjoyed our stay at Ruby View. Very accommodating, kind, friendly hosts. If we weren’t headed home we would have loved to explore the history and beauty of the surrounding area. Would definitely put it on our list to visit again!
Thanks for an amazing stay! You were a very gracious host! You guys live in a beautiful area and we were blessed to be able to spend some time with you. We will definitely stop by if we’re back in the area! Thanks again!!
Not only was the parking great for our 40' motor home but we wouldn't have needed to even unhook our 'toad'. Our site's view of the Ruby Mountains 'pulled us in'. With Ruby's recommendation (as to where to drive) we spent a day sight seeing around and in those mountains.
The hosts are SO FLEXIBLE! We had arranged to do something together, but we had something come up and had to leave earlier than scheduled. Our host's were so 'forgiving'. We hope to return some time in the future!
View was spectacular... hiking Lamoille Canyon, spectacular. My hosts Ruby View... spectacular. This was a bit off the beaten path and so worth it, that I stayed an extra day. I love it when Boondockers Welcome brings people together that otherwise would never have met, and lives become richer because of it. Happy I met these guys, I will be back.
We were delighted to meet Ruby View along with their household of kids, cats, and a friendly dog named Charley. They welcomed us with open arms and even provided dinner for us and our travel buddies (we had a total of two rigs, four adults, and two dogs). Their place had a great view of the mountains and the neighborhood was very quiet. We would be thrilled to visit again in the future.
