This space can accommodate truck campers, class B campers, and small class C's under 25 feet only, since access to the property has tight turns and overhanging trees. No travel trailers or class A motor homes will fit into the space. Parking space requires backing into the space, but this is fairly easy for 2 axel vehicles up to 25 feet long. We can provide 15 amp electric service via an extension cord, and a water connection via a long hose. There is no sewer connection at the parking space.
Anything in tow would need to be parked on the road and disconnected before the camper turns up our driveway.
This is an older subdivision in an urban location, about 6 miles from downtown Atlanta and about 1.5 miles from an exit on a major highway. Numerous restaurants and a supermarket are within 1 mile. Parking on our property is only suitable for truck campers and class B campers with nothing in tow. Small class C campers up to 25 feet will also fit. Anything in tow will have to be detached and parked on the street. There is somewhat of a slope from side to side on the parking site, so leveling blocks might be handy if this is an issue for the guest. The hosts can assist with leveling.
We are only able to park on our property Truck Campers, Class B campers, and Class C campers under 25 feet long. We are unable to accommodate travel trailers on our property, although they could park on the street for one or two nights. Automobiles in tow may be parked on the street if disconnected from the towing vehicle.
We travel off and on throughout the year, more often in summer, but for several weeks at a time in the winter as well. Contact us first regarding availability.
30 minutes to just about everything in the Atlanta area, including the international airport, zoo, aquarium, theaters, museums, parks, downtown Atlanta, sporting events, universities, hospitals, historical sites, etc.
Nice to talk with them. Kois very impressive, even when you visited Atlanta Aquarium before ... ;-)
Note: Definitly unsuitable for longer rigs!
What a wonderful and unique experience I had for my first Boondockers Welcome stay. I arrived later than anticipated but my hosts were there to greet me and helped to get my camper level with their own leveling blocks. Then they invited me into their home for a very pleasant visit. The highlight of my stay was the morning tour of the Koi operation in the back yard. I got to watch hundreds of brightly colored koi excitedly get their breakfast which was served up by my host. It was spectacular. I will be sure to stop here the next time I come through Atlanta. I look forward to seeing my new friends and their charming aquatic pets.
Stayed for 3 nights. Handy location for us. The neighborhood is made up of small steep hills with a lot of steep driveways. The driveway at this location measures 9 degrees but part of it is closer to level. We were able to plug in our heater which was really great in the chilly weather.
Our hosts were absolutely wonderful! They have converted a swimming pool into a koi fish sanctuary that is stunning. Seeing the fish and discussing the whole endeavor was one of the highlights of our visit to Atlanta.
It was so nice parking at Jim’s he was very attentive and offered to level me out with his own equipment. And he makes a great soup. His space is warm and inviting and so is the host. He has a great since of humor and I hope to visit him again on my way back up. Thank you ◕ ‿ ◕
Thank you for allowing us to park in front of your house. You were life savers and we sincerely appreciate it. Your place is in a quiet neighborhood and yet not far from the freeway, we slept like babies. We also enjoyed the tour of your koi farm, such beautiful creatures!
We hope we see you on your next California trip!

Jim is a kind and gracious host.
Jim met me when I arrived and showed me his RV that he's building out. Shared his boondocking experience. Great place to stay for the night.
I arrived in the Atlanta area and was welcomed by a very lovely couple. They provided me with everything I needed and more. The only thing that I might have needed was levelling blocks or jacks. I spent two nights and was very glad to have good WIFI to catch up on my work. They have a very interesting hobby which turned their swimming pool into a colorful pond of Koi fish. A very nice stay.
