Excellent place to explore from

We enjoyed our stay so much with the TravellingJanzens that we decided to stay again I appreciate the recommendation a visit in Waterton National Park, definitely a national treasure. We will be back :-)

September 2021

Gracious Hosts

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Travelling Janzens were very accommodating. This parking spot was perfect, and we were supplied with water and 15 amp. The location is beautiful. Superb sunsets and great sunrises. The view of the Rockies is great.
Many many great and lovely conversations with them regarding their trips and experiences as well as sharing ours.
Thinking of stopping on our way back.

September 2021

A million acre view

It doesn’t get any more “country” than this. Mountain views, fabulous sunsets and genuine rural hospitality. Thank you so much.

August 2021

So peaceful

We had a wonderful stay at TravelingJanzens the views are fantastic and the hosts very gracious thank you once again and hope that we may see you again sometime

July 2021

Wonderful stay

Thanks a lot for receiving us! We had a really good time, nice conversations, good recommendations for dining and the girls were happy with the swings! Take care and safe travels! Maybe see you again one day if we pass by!

July 2021

Wonderful hosts and super site.

Just an awesome stay. Super hosts. A lovely quiet spacious site. Highly recommend and can't wait till next time.

July 2021

Lovely hosts and perfect location for exploring the area

We had a wonderful stay with the TravelingJanzens. They have a large flat gravel area to park, and luckily our van was small enough to fit inside their workshop when they graciously suggested we could park inside during a hailstorm. Their location is an easy drive to Pincher Creek, Waterton, Beauvais Lake, etc. It's very quiet (unless there is a hail storm! :) ) with wide open views of the surrounding farmland and distant mountains.
The Janzens are a lovely, friendly couple.Thank you for your hospitality!

June 2021

Best 'little' farm in South Alberta

We had a wonderful stay with TravelingJanzens just outside Pincher Creek. Each day we woke up to magnificent 360 degree views of the Alberta Priaries. The TraveingJanzens were very welcoming and we really enjoyed hearing about their farm (only 620 acres) and also extensive travels around the world. They gave us a few tips on where to go and what to see in Pincher Creek. The Kootney Brown Pioneer Museum is particulary good and worth the visit.

June 2021

2nd time worked!

Friendly and helpful hosts. We tried 2 months ago but had some mechanical problems. This time was good, had a very long night sleep as it is super quiet on the vast prairie there.

June 2021

Great people, great property and great view.

The amazing view is only surpassed by the extraordinary hospitality of the hosts! Thank you for a great stay!

June 2021

We Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves
Beautiful place, great hosts and we enjoyed their stories and hospitality.
Thank you

June 2021

They are the most gracious kindest people. We truly have enjoyed our visit. Hope to stay in contact with them. Thank you for everything

April 2021

Nice place, great people!

The Janzens hosted us on our trip west, in December! Now we are heading east in late April, with greenery everywhere, and still snow on the mountains that can be seen from their farm yard.
Facilities are terrific for RVers, and the farm is beautiful and in a great location, well worth the drive from Pincher Creek or Fort MacLeod.
As a covid-19 cautious couple, we still get to enjoy socially-distant visits outside, and have a lot of common ground, so lots to talk about while we visit these fine hosts and great people.

April 2021

Short and sweet

Very pleasant hosts. Beautiful wide open space and spectacular mountain view. VERY quiet.
We had a propane problem with the rv and left again in the evening. Plan to be back next time.

December 2020

Terrific Hosts !

This was our first guest experience with Boondockers Welcome, after years of being hosts. Simply fantastic! Lots of snow on the ground, cold weather, and covid-19 restrictions, but the TravelingJanzens made us welcome (socially distantly), and provided a terrific camp spot with great view, services, outside visits, and some good advice.
They set a high standard for any hosts we may meet after this. We loved their farm, mountain views and all, and hearing some of the family stories of the century the Janzen family has been there. They even helped top up our fresh water tank in double digit freezing cold. Great first-time guest experience, after hosting for so long. Thank to both of you for everything, we hope to see you again, when conditions make a visit easier.

September 2020

Absolutely Amazing

We are here for 2 nights but I couldn’t wait till tomorrow to share about our experience here. Directions were great to get here, there is a large flat parking area. But most of all the views are amazing. Gorgeous prairie to the east and beautiful mountains to the west and south. The sunset was awesome, the clouds looked like they were on fire and the midnight sky was so black but filled with millions of stars. Breathe taking. Thanks for hosting us. Can’t wait to experience it again tonight.

May 2020

Amazing stay and even better people

We had an amazing experience at TravelingJanzens. They were more than welcoming and hospitable. This was our first time Boondocking and the experience was better than we could have imagined because this couple are knowledgeable, friendly, and have a breathtaking location to call home. ‘Salt of the earth’ people. We will be back!

November 2019

Such a peaceful property

Always a pleasure to stay here on our way to and from the US. Quiet, beautiful and such lovely hosts. The border crossing is very close and the nearby town has everything you need for groceries, dining and vehicle maintenance.

An amazing farm view with wonderful hosts

The view was tough to beat with open landscapes.. perfect for sunset viewings! Very quiet surroundings too. We enjoyed talking to the hosts for quite a bit the next morning exchanging stories of travels and living in Canada vs the US. We were so happy to have come here!

Our Alberta Go-To Boondocking Spot

This is such an awesome location. Close to three borders, US, BC and Sask. We will use this stop many many trips ahead not only for the convenient location for our travels to and from US but also for our stay visiting friends and family close by to the hosts. And speaking of the hosts, these world travelers have abundant info to share for all of us whether it's RV'ing, Cruise Ships and all other. Besides that, they are lovely, kind people. You will leave this boondocking spot refreshed and comfortable. Say hello for us !!!

June 2019

Wonderful experience

Thank you for being wonderful hosts. We enjoyed our evening together and although the view of the mountains was obscured by the haze/smoke from the fires in northern Alberta, the view of your farmland was lovely.

May 2019

great too be back!

Wonderful location in the country with a view of the mountains. So enjoyed our visit again with this couple - we had visited before in 2017 coming back from Alaska. Great to share stories after a wonderful dinner! Thanks again.

April 2019

Such a beautiful place

This was an incredibly relaxing, peaceful spot in the shadow of the Rockies. We had two options for power 15 and 30 AMP plus water. The gravel driveway is even and perfect for our heavy 5th wheel. The hosts are absolutely lovely. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. They travel also and have many good stories as well as a wealth of information to share. We look forward to going back to this boondocking spot in the future.

April 2019

Million Dollar View!

Although the hosts were just back from a trip and one of them had the flu, they accepted our request to stay. Their spot has an incredible view! We enjoyed watching the sun set and rise, at their peaceful location. We are sorry our timing was such that we couldn't visit with them.

September 2018

Lovely place

We had great time, so much so that we extended our stay. They were super nice, shared tips on what to do around and our children got to play the grandkids toys. We will definitely remember our stay, especially since our daughter took her first step at their house :)

July 2018

Second Time and Still Charming

The stay was fabulous. We keep bringing the rain to this farm, but it is an easy in and out and very quiet nights. We spent the morning talking with our hosts and they let the kids play with their grandkid’s toys. It could not have been more welcoming. It is a visit we will remember.

June 2018

Amazing views

Wonderful hosts and amazing views. Enjoyed the opportunity to chat about, well, everything, and share some travel stories. Would definitely stay again! Thanks guys!

May 2018

Friendly Farm

Chryke49 helped us out in the rain when we got there and invited us in for coffee/tea and some good conversation for the evening to get out of the rain. There is plenty of room to maneuver in and out. We only spent one night, but plan on visiting again when we come back from Alaska and have to pass through again.

September 2017

Beautiful Setting and Lovely Hosts

We loved our stay with chryke49 - and the peacefulness of their farm. They are incredibly welcoming, helpful, and engaging people - we are grateful to have had a chance to meet!

Four in a Fifth

August 2017

Beautiful location, easy for big rigs, lovely people

This was our first experience boon docking and chryke49 were wonderful hosts. They have a large flat area where we parked alongside two other RVers, who shared their knowledge with us and were great neighbours. Our kids loved it here, picking crabapples, chasing the cats, playing on the kids' playground. The feeling of solitude here is beautiful, and we feel very fortunate to have found chryke49 for our first boondocking experience.

August 2017

nice hosts with easy access to park

We stayed one night with them able returning home after 3 months of travelling. Chryke49 are gracious hosts and we were lucky to be there when 2 other families had stopped. We all had a great time sharing experiences and learning from one another. Definitely a great stop!

August 2017

A fives stars experience !

It was a reel pleasure to meet Chryke49 at their fabulous propriety, a very quiet farm surrounded by inspiring views. A charming couple wearing their hearts on their sleeves, sharing valuables advices, experiences and interesting conversations. We felt very welcome , thanks again for your hospitality and every small attentions. This was our first boondocking experience and hoping for much more !

July 2017

Lovely place

We stayed here after a long day of driving. We were welcomed warmly and enjoyed our stay. We were even able to wash our dusty Roadtrek. Although our hosts were not there, their daughter greeted us and helped us out. She even allowed us to follow her into town so we could gas up and avoid driving another dusty gravel road. Thanks again for a wonderful stop on our journey in Canada. We would definitely return to this location.

July 2017

Great couple & lovely place

Lovely place to stay, it's so quiet and peaceful. They are a great couple and very helpful if you need help.
Thanks for the dessert, it was delicious.

July 2017

Wonderful Hosts!!

We can't say enough about how gracious and welcoming chryke49 are. Their place is fantastic (wide open and private at the same time) and we wish we could have stayed longer. Their hospitality went over and above what we expected. We would certainly love to stay with them again if we are in the area. Thank-you!!!

May 2017

Peaceful stay with a great host

What a great way to experience cattle and grain country. We spent one night here recently and were welcomed with a smile. After being shown where to park and hookup to power and water, we were invited in for coffee. Thanks for the stories.

April 2017

WOW! Great views and really nice people.

This is a really easy review to write. Our hosts were so nice. The views are spectacular.
We would love to go there again if we have the chance!!!

August 2016

It is wide and open.

Spent one night here with some other Boondockers. We had great conversations with them all. We were amazed at how far one could see nothing but farms. Hope to see them again someday.

August 2016

Wide Open Spaces :)

We enjoyed warm (campfire), friendly, helpful hosts while enjoying staying on their farm in the wide open spaces of southern Alberta. Also met other boondockers while there and both they and the hosts shared good information for us newby boondockers. Highly recommend Chryke49!

August 2015

Warm and friendly hosts

We stayed one night with Bev & Garry and were welcomed in their home for good conversation and to get acquainted. They are a well travelled couple who shared their experiences of travel to exotic places as well as to underdeveloped countries for their charitable work. We thoroughly enjoyed their hospitality and highly recommend staying at their farm.

September 2014

Very nice hosts

We had a very enjoyable evening sharing travel stories and gaining area information from Bev and Garry. Beautiful quiet location too.

August 2014

A wonderful spot; wonderful hosts.

These boondocker hosts, Bev and Garry, were most welcoming. Their farm near Pincher Creek Alberta provides amazing views of the surrounding countryside. I spent a lovely evening around a campfire with them, and slept well in this scenic, peaceful, and quiet (except for the howls of coyotes!) spot. Highly recommended. Thanks so much, Bev and Garry.

May 2013

Best Hosts in the West!

This was our first time to try Boondockers locations and what a pleasant experience! Even though this farm is 20 miles south of Pincher Creek, Alberta, it was so worth the effort to get there. They went above and beyond the call of duty. Not only did they plug us in but also prepared dinner for us. We spent a most pleasant evening getting to know our gracious hosts. If you want a break from city lights, and noise, this is the place to go.
