Change is OK. We like you to cancel if you are not coming so the space is available for others. And reschedule via BW if you know when your new plan bring you in the area or even to possibly extend your stay!
Need to stay longer than BW request? Feel free to talk to us about it after we've met for a few days and submit additional request via BW.
Located 10 minutes from highway MD rte 50 and accommodations.
Paved roads, no hills, no surprises! If you have long trailer/firth wheel might have a hard time backing in our driveway from the street, especially if you do not get here during daylight. But we have had plenty of long RV combinations! I'm no help when it's time to backup a trailer, that is one reason why I have a motorhome!
Tow/Towed vehicle parking next to the rig. Gravel driveway/RV parking. We do not charge for electric!
Send us a message to see if we have a spot available to fit your timeline!
It is possible that the BW calendar show some availability that is not actually available.

They were great hosts! We parked easily in front of the garage, and had an electric hookup, and water to fill our fresh tank.
Great location for a bayside beach visit or bike ride with beautiful trails!
Home Away From Home is a great location to take in a lot of what the area has to offer, including DC. The hosts are very accommodating and helpful. The 50 amp hookup and fresh water access is an added bonus. We wish we would have been able to see more of the area and do plan on returning in the future.
We had a great time on Kent Island. Seriously gorgeous location. Hosts were great! Thanks again!
We are very thankful that we were able to stay for 3 nights with electricity for a small donation, the hosts were very accommodating! The location was amazing, Kent Island is beautiful. The host recommended some bike trails that were great. We stopped one night for dinner at the Kentmoor Restaurant a few miles away. It was fabulous!
A great location. I didn't get to meet the hosts in person but all their communications were clear and welcoming. A nice overnight stop for me. Level, very quiet, and electric offered. Maybe next time I'll have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful surrounding area. The hospitality is so much appreciated.
D&D are great hosts and really lucky, too. They live in a truly special place. Kent Island has the nicest bike trails we've ever seen. A winding carpet through the woods.
HAFH has a level driveway, every kinda electric hook up and a very long hose.
This is a place we hope to visit again in future years. Can't believe more people don't visit the Island.
This was our first Boondockers Welcome stay and HomeAwayFromHome really set the bar for us. They were welcoming and friendly and even went so far as to invite us to join them for dinner at a local establishment. Their space was just what we were looking for. The area was very quiet. The space was easy to get in and out of and is very level. Thank you so very much to HomeAwayFromHome for your kindness and generosity in opening up this space for us. We really appreciated it and hope our paths will cross again in the future.
This was our 1st boondocker's welcome stay and it was fabulous! Very accommodating even though we were later than we're originally anticipated. Beautiful, quiet, secluded spot and very welcoming and accommodating hosts! We felt like we were staying at a friend's place.
The host was very kind and hospitable. The neighborhood was nice to walk with friendly people. In town there is a large dog park with friendly dogs and owners. And there was a fantastic walking/biking path that looked to go the length of the island. The parking was simple enough to back into with our 36' TT, the driveway entrance looks daunting, but is plenty wide enough. We enjoyed our time at Home Away from Home.
These are wonderful hosts and they are very generous with their beautiful yard. Wish we’d had more time to enjoy them and the surrounding area. We were busy attending the MD Renaissance Faire.
We had a great time at this spot. Not only were we close to the Chesapeake Bay and beach but we could see other area attractions like Washington DC in under an hour. Our hosts were friendly, offer us an electric hook up and water too. We definitely recommend this spot! Thank you!
I needed an extra two nights in the area and the hosts quickly granted it. Thank you HomeAwayFromHome!
This was the second time I stayed here and it was as enjoyable as the first. The hosts are extremely nice and the location is peaceful and secluded.
The only downside to this stay was the toll rode. Seriously, so beautiful and really nice folks! We appreciate everything!
Wonderful hosts!! Very accommodating!! Had to leave early due to a family emergency, but highly recommend. Thank you!
Had a great stay with our accommodating hosts! Thank you so much for hosting. Love the towering trees on your property and there’s so much to do in the area. Thanks again for making our first Boondockers Welcome experience a positive one!
Truly a slice of paradise on Kent island and so close to DC and Annapolis. Such friendly hosts greeted us and made us feel welcome. Easy to get to, too! Thank you for your hospitality!
We really enjoyed our short stay. Unfortunately we had a fanily emergency that cut our stay short. Very understanding of short notice departure.
Had no problem pulling in with our 40 ft. motorhome. Daniel had a 50 amp cord all ready for us. After setting up Daniel came out and met us and said if we needed anything just let him know. He also offered to help with any repairs if we needed them. And then to our surprise he offered us to go have dinner with him and his wife. I told him we had no tow car and he said we could ride with them. After talking to the wife we decided we would stay in since we were very tired from a busy day. I want to thank you again Daniel for everything and we would love to stay here again in the future. We would love to come back when we have more time and spend some time getting to know you and Darlene. We would highly recommend HomeAwayFromHome
This was my first Boondockers Welcome experience and I could not ask for more. The hosts are first rate, extremely nice and very accommodating. The site was also very nice with privacy at my front door. The location is private yet convenient to everything the area has to offer. Thank you for a terrific experience!
It really was a Home away from Home. A really fun boon docker couple, we will never hear the word "hickey" again without having a giggle. Thank you very much for letting us stay.
Great place to stay that is convenient to beaches, sights, and great small town scenery. We enjoyed exploring nearby and our kiddos loved playing in the big yard! Our hosts were friendly and accommodating of our travel plans when we needed to edit our stay dates. Would love to stay again in the future!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The location was perfectly level and made it very easy for us to set up. The surrounding trees afforded plenty of privacy and the area was peaceful and quiet. We sincerely appreciate our Host's hospitality and would definitely recommend their location! Thank you for such a great 1st boondocking experience!
Very comfortable visit with folks that are warm and inviting. This was an easy in and out to DC for us and we appreciated the quiet setting. Thanks much!
We can't thank enough the hospitality that Home Away From Home showed us.
We loved the placed and the ride to the place, and we loved the time we spent with them. We had great conversations with them.
He taught us so many things about our new home, and since we are new RVers, we appreciate all the help and knowledge.
Thank you so much for hosting us and being so welcoming.
We accidentally put in the wrong date and showed up when they weren’t expecting us until the next day..... 😱, but they were very gracious and accommodating.
Great location for exploring Annapolis and DC, we did both on two different days!
Definitely recommend it. The Bay Bridge was a tiny bit intimidating to go over in the RV and toad to continue our journey south, but we did it!!!
Wonderful hosts! Quiet and dark nights meant a good nights sleep. Thank you!
It’s obvious that your dog family is an important part of life, but we can understand as we’re loving them as well. Happy that we had the opportunity to meet Darlene and all the dogs just begore our departure. Daniel was an excellent host and made our stay enjoyable.
This will be the last boondocker of our half yeat trip as we will try to get our rv shipped by next monday. Thanks Darlene and Daniel for your hospitality and wish you all the best.
Salut, les Bergeracois.
Wonderful hosts, accommodating and kind. Nice big spot for our rig right in the driveway.
The location was perfect for our visits to Annapolis. The hosts were very accommodating and offered us a nice big spot in their driveway. We had to change the dates a few times and it was no problem with them at all. It was a great experience.
We very much enjoyed our stay, easy location, very quiet and welcoming. We stayed over the 4th of July and only meet our hosts on arrival as they were headed out to do their own camping, they were very welcoming and helpful getting setup and knowing the essentials.
Great quiet location in a beautiful part of the state. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. They even helped us with a repair on our RV. We very much enjoyed meeting them and all their pups. Highly recommend this location!
We went to this location to visit DC for a few days, but quickly discovered that Maryland had much more to offer than we’d thought! This was largely due to Daniel and Darleen (and their doggies), who were really friendly and inclusive, taking us out to their local food favourites - we had such a great time getting to know them! These are the sorts of experiences that make boondocking so worthwhile. Looking forward to repaying the hospitality in Australia one day!
We arrived, met our host and what do we discover, that's he is a French Canadian living in the States for the past 20 years. We stayed at there place for three nights. They are lovely people and there place is also really nice. A lot to do around the house (bicycle, running, beach, sea food restaurant) and DC is about 50 minutes by car, or you can drive to the end of the metro line! Highly recommand!! Thanks again guys!
Loved this spot for the location. Bike trails everywhere and easy commute to DC. We were welcomed by Danny and set up easily. Both Danny and his wife are still working full time so we unfortunately didnt get to spend a lot of time with them but were certainly thankful for being our hosts for 3 nights. Thanks again.
We had a great stay at Home Away From Home. We enjoyed walking our dogs around be many trails and to the small beach that is just down the road. Like many others we explored DC during our stay and enjoyed it very much.
Thanks so much for your hospitality!
What a great place to stay. Beautiful spot with lots of space and very kind hosts. Did not see much of them due to their schedules, but they allowed us to stay and enjoy their island. Lots of hiking and quaint towns to visit.Thank you, hope our paths will cross again
We are grateful for the opportunity we had to stay at HomeAwayFromHome. They were gracious host, and had a very beautiful yard for our kids to play in. Being close to DC, and being able to stay long enough to see everything we wanted to, it was fantastic. It was about a 45 minute drive to the Metro station, and we took the train into the city from there. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to visit DC.
Thanks so much for a 3 night stay...it is a truly great place to access DC. I drove to newcarrolton amtrac and caught the metro train 2 days. Worked well. Thank you. A. G.
We spent two nights, and it was a great location to access Annapolis, one of our favorite places on the planet.
They couldn't have been nicer or more helpful - we are new to the RV life and had some questions he was able to help with, and we enjoyed meeting them and the fur babies. Getting our 40' rig into the driveway was a bit of a challenge for us newbies, and he was very helpful with that as well.
Hope to return and maybe spend more time.
Friendly couple with beautiful fur babies. We were having some financial struggles due to car repairs while traveling and HAFH opened their doors to us. For boondocking accommodations they were 5⭐'s. They had nice, big grassy area for my little ones to run around while my older ones were able to bike safely to the bay. We hope to see you guys again under better financial circumstances so we can hang out more. God Bless you!
They were very nice, we arived a little bit later than expected, and they helped me set up and get all connected in, really enjoyed the time there, it rained a little bit, but we made the most of it. And the best past, they were Canadians!!
The M Family
We just spent 2 weeks in a great spot with wonderful hosts. This was a return visit for us and had been planned for when we were there in November. We joined them for a charity dinner, and shared dinner in our coach. Host D helped us with 2 problems with our coach. In view of limited (and expensive) options near Washington DC, this is a good option for exploring the DC area. Drive to a Metro station and take the train from there. In view of how long we stayed with a 50 amp h/u, we gave our hosts a voluntary monetary contribution as we left.
Thank you for your great welcoming.
It was nice to meet you.
We hope to see you next time.
It was our first BoondockersWelcome experience and this great couple was not only very welcoming but they had everything we needed, much more than anything we expected! Also their house and the island were very beautiful, fun and easy to get around, even by foot.
Thanks again and we hope our paths cross again someday!
Danny & Gabrielle
Our hosts were friendly, very accommodating hosts. He is an electrician and made sure we had a 50 amp connection and also educated us about how to install our new tank probes, as well as some other electrical info. When we arrived we were invited to join them for the weekly Elks dinner, which was a nice alternative to cooking our own. We will probably return on our way back north in the spring.
HomeAwayFromHome exceeded my expectations as hosts. They were very friendly and helpful. I had just purchased my first trailer and needed a last minute place to store it for a bit. They responded right away and were able to accommodate me. They also helped me out with my trailer - gave me some recommendations on things to fix up and had some spare parts in storage to help get me started. Their places was easy to get to. I would definitely love to come back next time I pass through.
