Located 10 minutes from highway MD rte 50 and accommodations.
Paved roads, no hills, no surprises! If you have long trailer/firth wheel might have a hard time backing in our driveway from the street, especialy if you do not get here during daylight. But we have had plenty of long RV combinations! I'm no help when it's time to backup a trailer, that is one reason why I have a motorhome!
Tow/Towed vehicle parking next to the rig. Gravel driveway/RV parking. We do not charge for electric!

We accidentally put in the wrong date and showed up when they weren’t expecting us until the next day..... 😱, but they were very gracious and accommodating.
Great location for exploring Annapolis and DC, we did both on two different days!
Definitely recommend it. The Bay Bridge was a tiny bit intimidating to go over in the RV and toad to continue our journey south, but we did it!!!
Wonderful hosts! Quiet and dark nights meant a good nights sleep. Thank you!
It’s obvious that your dog family is an important part of life, but we can understand as we’re loving them as well. Happy that we had the opportunity to meet Darlene and all the dogs just begore our departure. Daniel was an excellent host and made our stay enjoyable.
This will be the last boondocker of our half yeat trip as we will try to get our rv shipped by next monday. Thanks Darlene and Daniel for your hospitality and wish you all the best.
Salut, les Bergeracois.
Wonderful hosts, accommodating and kind. Nice big spot for our rig right in the driveway.
The location was perfect for our visits to Annapolis. The hosts were very accommodating and offered us a nice big spot in their driveway. We had to change the dates a few times and it was no problem with them at all. It was a great experience.
We very much enjoyed our stay, easy location, very quiet and welcoming. We stayed over the 4th of July and only meet our hosts on arrival as they were headed out to do their own camping, they were very welcoming and helpful getting setup and knowing the essentials.
Great quiet location in a beautiful part of the state. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. They even helped us with a repair on our RV. We very much enjoyed meeting them and all their pups. Highly recommend this location!
We went to this location to visit DC for a few days, but quickly discovered that Maryland had much more to offer than we’d thought! This was largely due to Daniel and Darleen (and their doggies), who were really friendly and inclusive, taking us out to their local food favourites - we had such a great time getting to know them! These are the sorts of experiences that make boondocking so worthwhile. Looking forward to repaying the hospitality in Australia one day!
We arrived, met our host and what do we discover, that's he is a French Canadian living in the States for the past 20 years. We stayed at there place for three nights. They are lovely people and there place is also really nice. A lot to do around the house (bicycle, running, beach, sea food restaurant) and DC is about 50 minutes by car, or you can drive to the end of the metro line! Highly recommand!! Thanks again guys!
Loved this spot for the location. Bike trails everywhere and easy commute to DC. We were welcomed by Danny and set up easily. Both Danny and his wife are still working full time so we unfortunately didnt get to spend a lot of time with them but were certainly thankful for being our hosts for 3 nights. Thanks again.
We had a great stay at Home Away From Home. We enjoyed walking our dogs around be many trails and to the small beach that is just down the road. Like many others we explored DC during our stay and enjoyed it very much.
Thanks so much for your hospitality!
What a great place to stay. Beautiful spot with lots of space and very kind hosts. Did not see much of them due to their schedules, but they allowed us to stay and enjoy their island. Lots of hiking and quaint towns to visit.Thank you, hope our paths will cross again
We are grateful for the opportunity we had to stay at HomeAwayFromHome. They were gracious host, and had a very beautiful yard for our kids to play in. Being close to DC, and being able to stay long enough to see everything we wanted to, it was fantastic. It was about a 45 minute drive to the Metro station, and we took the train into the city from there. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to visit DC.
Thanks so much for a 3 night stay...it is a truly great place to access DC. I drove to newcarrolton amtrac and caught the metro train 2 days. Worked well. Thank you. A. G.
We spent two nights, and it was a great location to access Annapolis, one of our favorite places on the planet.
They couldn't have been nicer or more helpful - we are new to the RV life and had some questions he was able to help with, and we enjoyed meeting them and the fur babies. Getting our 40' rig into the driveway was a bit of a challenge for us newbies, and he was very helpful with that as well.
Hope to return and maybe spend more time.
Friendly couple with beautiful fur babies. We were having some financial struggles due to car repairs while traveling and HAFH opened their doors to us. For boondocking accommodations they were 5⭐'s. They had nice, big grassy area for my little ones to run around while my older ones were able to bike safely to the bay. We hope to see you guys again under better financial circumstances so we can hang out more. God Bless you!
They were very nice, we arived a little bit later than expected, and they helped me set up and get all connected in, really enjoyed the time there, it rained a little bit, but we made the most of it. And the best past, they were Canadians!!
The M Family
We just spent 2 weeks in a great spot with wonderful hosts. This was a return visit for us and had been planned for when we were there in November. We joined them for a charity dinner, and shared dinner in our coach. Host D helped us with 2 problems with our coach. In view of limited (and expensive) options near Washington DC, this is a good option for exploring the DC area. Drive to a Metro station and take the train from there. In view of how long we stayed with a 50 amp h/u, we gave our hosts a voluntary monetary contribution as we left.
Thank you for your great welcoming.
It was nice to meet you.
We hope to see you next time.
It was our first BoondockersWelcome experience and this great couple was not only very welcoming but they had everything we needed, much more than anything we expected! Also their house and the island were very beautiful, fun and easy to get around, even by foot.
Thanks again and we hope our paths cross again someday!
Danny & Gabrielle
Our hosts were friendly, very accommodating hosts. He is an electrician and made sure we had a 50 amp connection and also educated us about how to install our new tank probes, as well as some other electrical info. When we arrived we were invited to join them for the weekly Elks dinner, which was a nice alternative to cooking our own. We will probably return on our way back north in the spring.
HomeAwayFromHome exceeded my expectations as hosts. They were very friendly and helpful. I had just purchased my first trailer and needed a last minute place to store it for a bit. They responded right away and were able to accommodate me. They also helped me out with my trailer - gave me some recommendations on things to fix up and had some spare parts in storage to help get me started. Their places was easy to get to. I would definitely love to come back next time I pass through.
