Large parking area rear of house. Should not be any chance of getting stuck if rain as there is crushed shell all throughout that area. 15amp electric hookup only, sorry, just be careful with your electric use (I know you know how) and you should be fine. Water hookup and sewer dump also. May need portable tank for dump depending. No units over 26' right now due to setup of alleyway. Bicycle distance from grocery, Walmart, auto parts, Tractor supply, Rural King, food. Home repair stores a little farther away. Also RV repair shops and parts retailers in the area.
No drugs or drunks
Paved roads throughout. Alleyway behind house to the parking area is a little rough, but only 100' to drive if coming from 7th St. Possible low hanging trees over the alleyway if coming from 9th st and about 1/8th of a mile to drive. Slight incline of a hill sloping down from 9th towards 7th.
Front or back depending. Plenty of room for that.
Bok Tower Gardens is biking distance and there is great bicycling in this area. Hiking trails and paddling within 10-20 miles. Spook Hill. Ghost Town of KICCO. World class fishing. Lakefront park with paved trail walking distance away. Dead downtown area that is neat to explore. This is the area of the Lake Wales Ridge which has some of the neatest, most endangered, beautiful, remote and rare natural area in the world, the "Galapagos" of the United States.
Great host in a quiet neighborhood. We really appreciated being able to stay!
My first boondocker stay, fabulous...just wish it had been longer. I left with a big smile on my face. The bar was set high by Wildergimp, everything you could need plus so welcoming. Thanks for your enthusiasm and good conversation!
We arrived and our host greeted us and invited us to play Pickle ball. We never played before but our host gave us a lesson and we had a great time!! We shared a meal afterwards. Wonderful host, we higly recommend this as a place to stay!!
Looked like a nice town, never had enough time to have a look about. Hosts where lovely!
I stayed with these lovely folks for a few nights. Very helpful and informative.
I've been away from rural America for a while and Lake Wales was a refreshing change. Walk around the lake, watch some little league baseball, go for a bike ride.
I also spent a day shooting the Bok Tower Gardens - https://worldview.smugmug.com/Travel/Bok-Towers-Gardens. Well worth the visit.
I'll be back !
Great Folks, kind hosts! A nice flat spot in driveway in a cute quiet neighborhood a few blocks from the nice lake. Great walking or biking paths around lake! Easy to find; his helped direct me into narrow drive & out next day. Offered me an extra water hose to reach their spigot which was great. Enjoyed my conversations with host about the local geology of "The Ridge" and shared interests. Another wonderful & appreciated BW experience!
The host is amiable and the neighborhood setting peaceful. It's a great spot for central Florida sightseeing. Don't miss Bok Tower Gardens if you're in the area. We stayed Jan. 30, 2017.
