Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this host1 full hookup available.. Can accommodate parking for several rigs for boondocking. On main highway but back from road noise.
off main highway. fairly level dirt drive
Large parking area next to rig
Spring and fall, summer if you can catch us. just give us a email
Pisgah state park, Spofford lake with town beach (small fee), Freidsom town property with easy hiking trails. Winchester town pickle festival in late summer.
We thought we had left a reference back when we stayed at "In the Pines", but better late than never. Irv was the nicest man, though he and his wife were away and we only talked to him on the phone and by text. We were in dire straits because our RV was breaking down (electrical problems that stopped us in our tracks!) and Irv and his son were kind and generous, gave us referrals and support and let us stay while we sorted things out. We can't begin to thank them for their help!
The site was great, with water, electric and septic. Tucked up behind their place in the woods with a circle drive so we could pull through. Molly the dog and I enjoyed our hikes in the woods each day. Close to town for supplies and repairs.
Host responded timely to our request. When we arrived, Irv directed us into our site, provided us with 110 electric, and provided local information regarding nearby Grafton Village Cheese Farm, Brattleboro, VT, where we were able to get some "seriously" sharp cheddar cheese. Would definitely stay here again if the opportunity presents itself. Camped in a 37' Class A motorhome with a toad on a level gravel surface.
Our hosts were very accommodating, allowing us to book the same day and stay an additional day. The location was exactly as named...in the pines. Quiet spot with room to turn our 38' RV around and space for my dogs to be off leash.
As we drove in, Irv was outside to guide us in and give us options. Before we arrived he was great at communicating. We stayed here a couple of years ago when they weren’t home so we were lucky to finally meet them. Friendly people! Our spot was a pull through with electricity. Peaceful spot amongst the trees. Thank you!
Nice location back in the woods off Rt 9 and close to Brattleboro. The hosts are super sweet and very accommodating. Would stay there again for sure!
Irv &Nancy are super sweet and ensuing people. Loved our stay with them.
We enjoyed our time in The Pines! Beautiful time of year to visit and we had a great time learning a new lawn game with this welcoming family! Very grateful for their hookups and willingness to welcome us in for our unfortunate late arrival time! Genuinely caring folks! Thank you!
Lovely family hosted us. Quiet setting in a very convenient location for visiting all the numerous picturesque villages nearby.
We had full hookups too.
Thanks for the stay in your Pine grove. Site was nice and level, quiet, and conveniently located for our exploring around Brattleboro and HogBack Mtn. Did not get to meet host as he was away but his relative was there to check in and make sure we had everything we needed.
Will definitely go back if in the area.
A truly wonderful site, easy to drive into and out of, pine forest on three sides and rural home setting on the fourth side. Even a BoondockersWelcome sign!
We missed meeting our hosts but did meet the grandson-in-law, a fine young man. Our texts with our host were answered quickly and helpfully. We'll stay here every time we're nearby.
Nice spot up on a small hill overlooking the property. Very quiet, peaceful, and a perfect night sleep! Thank you!!
This is truly in the pines. Short drive into the pines with a nice level spot to park complete with 50 amp service, water, and sewer hookup. We were even able to pick a few blueberries. Ten dollar request per night is well worth it. Great place to stop.
Irv was very helpful to us via text as they were out of town. In spite of the fact that we were late coming in. We appreciate that since travel days never do seem to be as smooth as one wants. :)
Area is very nice and quiet.
Would definitely stay again.
We've stayed here several times. It's a great, one-night stop for us, with only a couple hour drive to family in northern Vermont.
This spot was great. Rural area right off a state road but nestled next to a wooded area yet open. Best of both worlds.
Very willing to work with us on date changes due to vehicle troubles. Thank you. Will consider another time soon.
Out in nature, nights are dark, full hook ups available, landing pad in good condition. Nothing to complain about.
We had a great time making a stop in the pines when we visited Brattleboro VT. Thank you!
I have a 35 foot rig easy enough to maneuver up the gravel road turn around and come back after our stay. My wife and I and grandkids and three dogs had a nice visit, the first night sitting around the campfire with the host his granddaughter husband and neighbor. The second day we got plenty of rest because it rained all day. Would come back and definitely would recommend for anyone that would like to stay there.
This was a great spot right in the woods...as private as you want it to be. The hosts couldn't have been more kind and helpful. Plus they gave me bacon!
The woods are welcoming and so was Irv, ushering me to my choice of spots and even backing my rig in for me after a long, hot drive, then checking to see how level it was using an app. He also hooked up my electricity. Can't do much more in the Era of COVID-19.
We are so happy we found “in the pines” when we were in a pinch and needed a place to stay. Our request was kindly accepted, and we were given everything we needed along with a gorgeous safe spot for the night. Thank you!!
Beautiful site in the woods that was easily accessible in our 33 foot RV.
Even though we did not get to meet our hosts since they were out of town they were very helpful through emails. Hopefully we’ll get to meet them our next time in the area.
Such a sweet couple and very helpful for a couple of Texas Roadtrippers who were totally out of our element!
This was our first experience with Boondockers Welcome and what a great introduction. Our hosts made us feel very comfortable from the start. We had a fire, hiked and played cards. We look forward to seeing them again soon.
Quick communications and offered a bonus hike, if we could have made it sooner. One full hookup site with several other spots to “tuck away” in for traditional Boondocking. Super friendly. I wish we had more time to stay and enjoy the campfire.
Exactly what I needed to spend some time in nearby Brattleboro. Irv was communicative and helpful! Easy to park, hookups and all. Thank you for opening your land to us strangers.
Nice place. Great host. Good fisherman. Got to spend a day scouting the river with a local. A definite bonus. Many thanks for the hospitality!
Nice secluded spot to relax, unwind. We so appreciated having 30 amp electricity and water. Thank you!
We went to the ocean and came home in the dark. You have to really be looking to find the driveway but we did it!
Great hosts who gave tips about local places of interest and traveling issues. (Thank you for the Museum Putty!)
Easy and convenient spot for guests and host. Hosts are generous with utilities, but I only used electricity for microwaving coffee, but still very convenient.

We arrived in the evening and were welcomed with a fire pit and other guests chatting with the hosts. We cooked burgers over the open fire and had a great evening. Rain put a damper on the next day, but the host took us up to a local trail and we had a nice walk and got to see some great overlooks. Beautiful piece of New Hampshire. @homeadrift
We had a great stay. We had a camp fire Saturday afternoon. We ate appetizers and had great conversation. Sunday we went to Church with Them. Then we went to breakfast. They were so nice and we had wonderful time. Oh I asked them how to open our day and night shades as we were leaving. She came in and opened them right up. I tried for a week to open them and couldn’t open them. Lol
This host takes his guests comfort seriously - the most prepared boondocking we've encountered full hook-ups include 50A 30A and 20A service. Smooth entry and level spot. Host met us and was warm and welcoming. What a nice place. Thanks so very much!
Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Great spot to camp with full hookups. We shared stories around the campfire. We stayed four days and kept busy with things to do in the area. Would love to come back.
When we arrived on the 19th Irv and Nancy were traveling Maine. Their son and his wife were there to greet us and help us get settled in. We had FHU for a 4 night stay, and it could not have been better. It was a very peaceful setting and very conveniently located - easy to find and just a short distance to town. On our final evening there we were invited to join them around the campfire for some very enjoyable time of sharing stories and fellowship. We will be back the next time we are in the area. I highly recommend Irv and Nancy “In The Pines” as a great place to stay! Thanks again!
Their location just east of the Vermont border in New Hampshire made this an easily accessible stop over. We loved the tranquil setting tucked in a pine grove above the owners home where full hookups are thoughtfully provided. While our hosts were absent during our stay, we enjoyed some great conversations with their son and his wife, who were visiting. We look forward to a return visit.
Stayed overnight at the Pines. Sorry to be so late in response, but we have been without internet or cell service for 2 weeks. Thank you for allowing us to relax and refresh for our next day's ride.
We so appreciate our hosts who let us stay at their place while they were away. Their son came and made sure all was ready to go. He even shared vegetables from the garden. It was just right for us and we sure appreciate their hospitality! Thanks again!
Irv was very friendly and quick to respond. We stayed for one night. Nice flat level space with plenty of room to pull in with no need to drop our toad. Quiet place with easy access. Would definitely stay again!
Warm, friendly welcome and a good, quiet spot to spend some time. Hosts left the morning after my visit (to go to their vacation spot) but stopped by to say goodbye; had no issue with me staying. The first night there, dinner was shared around a campfire with 3 other boondocker guests and our hosts. Highly recommend.
Great location and great hosts. We had hoped to get FHU site but wasn't available. Irv graciously offered us another spot and ran us water and electric. Had a nice potlock by fire and good conversation with them and other campers. Made us feel at home.
This place was great. Irvin (host) had a potluck for us and some other boondockers staying there and it was great to talk to people living the same life as us . They even gave us some fresh blueberries and zucchini from their garden. Great people to hang out with.
Both Irv and Nancy were delightful hosts and went well beyond normal host efforts. Four boondockers at one time with potluck shared around evening firepit.
Addition of few pounds air supplied by Irv's compressor saved me a trip into town.
Very easy "normal" folks. Good visit.
Thank you again.
Tom
Everything was wonderful for our quick stop overnight. Wonderful smell of trees in the air and plenty of room to pull through! The host was gracious and had power to hook up if we needed it. We arrived later than planned so the motion lights were a big plus. Thanks!
Irv and his wife Nancy were really wonderful to meet! I enjoyed spending time around the campfire and as a Boondocking newbie I was happy to discuss camping and travel, I learned so much! Look forward to seeing them again in the future!
They were very welcoming. Their place is tucked away in the woods and I heard the crickets all night. It was great to have a pull-through spot with all the amenities. I'd absolutely recommend them as hosts. Thanks!!
What gracious people. We really enjoyed meeting with them and visiting with them. Hopefully we'll get to meet up with them again in the near future.
This was our second visit to this location. This is easy to find, following the directions and easy access. Unfortunately, our schedule did not us to visit with our hosts’ this time but their son was available. We enjoyed the quiet nights and the shaded afternoon. We hope to see them down the road, soon.
Highly recommend.
This was our second stay at this beautiful location. The hosts were ever so gracious to allow us to pull in even though they weren't there to greet us. Another boondocker was there; one we'd stayed with a couple years ago. It
was great to catch up.We highly recommend you stay here. Oh...Ramunto's pizza place is just a few minutes down the road. Yummy!
Irv was an exceptional host and made our first experience using boondocks welcome a wonderful one. He has a great space for hosting and we loved the peacefulness of the area. Irv was very welcoming and kind. We would love to go visit again.
We had a very sweet time at In The Pines. They were SO kind to us. We enjoyed some conversation by their fire and got to learn more about them and their stories as we shared ours. Beautiful secluded spot to relax or explore!
Right on the scenic highway I was traveling..,couldn’t have been more convenient.
Never disappoints..Always a great place to stay… Close to everything… Walmart 15 minutes away… Brattleboro Vermont… Lots of good golf courses close by… Thanks so much to Irv
Host was able to accomodate us for the evening. There was no problem whatsoever fitting our rig (50ft truck and camper). It was a short stay with an awesome view of the stars. Thanks!
Wow! We loved this quiet spot in the woods. We spent one night while exploring New Hampshire. Lovely and peaceful. Extra bonus with hook-ups made available was very much appreciated! We didn’t get to meet our hosts this time, maybe another time.
I never met Irv but I did speak with him and text with him a couple of times he was very helpful… I did meet his son who showed me where everything was and he was a great person… A kind gentleman… The spot was level and has water and electricity what more could you ask for… Second night there were two deer 10 feet behind my camper… I requested three nights but only stayed two only because I was needed at home otherwise I would’ve stayed the full time and I don’t want my cancellation to reflect badly on the host !! It is 15 minutes from Brattleboro Vermont on route nine W. I believe… Where you can get just about anything you need and there is a Walmart 15 minutes away
This location is easy to find and provided water, electric and sewer as offered. Irv and his wife were generous host who communicated well and met us upon arrival with open arms. Irv walked us to the location, explained alternatives and made sure we were satisfied.
We had a lovely evening coffee and a great conversation.
We will request to stay again when in the area and very strongly recommend In the Pines.
Hope to see you on the road, or to host at our location.
Kind, generous hosts. More than accommodating. We are so appreciative.
What a pleasure hosts were to visit with, and site was perfect. Could not have ask for more!! FHU and very quite and private.
They couldn’t have been any more welcoming. They did everything they could to accommodate all my requests including setting up access for Internet and helping me dump my black water at the last minute before I headed out on my journey. They’re wonderful to sit and visit with as they are full of knowledge and resources to support the RV lifestyle.
Truely delightful people!
Location is super convenient to explore the area. Had a great time visiting in front of a campfire. Cell access is possible with a booster, or perhaps on Verizon.
We can’t say enough about our host in the pines. We had an exceptional spot with 15 amp which meet our needs for a peaceful stay over. We visited friends in the area while boondocking and return after dark with no problems. Morning time allow us to sit and visit with our host and we shared stories about the different places they had visited and where we were headed. We were just sorry we didn’t catch the second night stay we had to move on and missed what was to be a terrific fish fry. We’ve promised to return with a rain check. Looking forward to our paths crossing again. Safe travels and we wish you health and happiness always.
Sincerely,

We enjoyed the convenient location and fun hosts at this location.
We recommend them for sure.
Irv's property made for a great boondocking location, with plenty of space and a very convenient "pull-through" style setup. Very nice folks, and even though we were only there for an evening, had a great time and recharged our mental batteries! Had mobile internet/cell service with our WeBoost amplifier turned on. Thanks again.
Although owner was not able to be there, Granddaughter and Partner made sure we were all settled in and had everything we needed, thanks to you all :) We had a nice stop, hopefully Irv will be there if we get the chance to stop again.
We really enjoyed our time here. Just good people, beautiful place, and wonderful sights. As you can tell, I like to make my recommendations short and too the point. Thank you guys for being such great hosts and I hope you all are as lucky as we have been with all the great people we have met on our journey like yourselves.
Safe Travels - Pilotman, Wife & Lani the dog
Although IRV was not in town, he had family greet us and get us set up. He responded quickly to communications. Thanks so much for a great spot right on our route. Hope we can meet one-day.
"A 1" spot. They are great hosts. They had a nice location for us by there shop. Greeted us in the evening with a great bond fire. Spent a couple of hours talking of our families and travels. Thank You
Irv and his wife were very nice hosts. The weather was terrible but they made us hot homemade muffins that made us feel warm. Yummy!!!
Irv is a great host - even tho he was out of town - he was not out of touch - his grandson welcomed us and showed the way and Irv made a couple of calls to make sure our stay went well Thank you for that - I would recommend this host and hope to meet up with them some time on the road
We stayed with Irv and his wife for a few days. They were great hosts and even provided a personal tour of the area. Great company to sit a chat with.

A flat shaded spot near several lakes and ponds for canoeing or kayaking. The man, who has his office on this property, gave us many suggestions for places to go. We parked in a private wooded area, and spent 3 days canoeing on Willard Pond, Lake Nubanusit and Spoonwood Lake. All 3 were wonderful, and there are larger ones even closer. Then we came back to sit in chairs amongst the trees. We also walked the trail at nearby Chesterfield Gorge. The only downside was that our hosts were out of town while we were visiting. They were so kind to welcome us anyway, with a sign showing us where to park. Great place to park while you explore the local area's treasures. Thank you so much!
Another example of how friendly and welcoming "BoondockersWelcome" members are. We were invited to stay over while our hosts were travelling elsewhere. So, we didn't have a chance to meet, but hopefully we will on our next trip through. Thanks again!
