Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostWe live in a small established neighborhood behind the county visitor center. We have a concrete driveway for parking your RV. We have a a fire pit in back yard that guests are welcome to use if they are interested. If you need to run generator you could during the day.
No smoking on property. We live in a quiet residential neighborhood so please act accordingly.
Easy to access. Gas station at front of neighborhood. Roads paved and flat. Longer rigs may have a bit of trouble turning into our driveway, but you can turn around at end of street and get in. Paved road and driveway and no hills.
Can park on street if not enough room in driveway for your tow vehicle and rig. Total length of your rig and vehicle can not be longer than 45' as it can be difficult to get in and out of our driveway.
We are home unless traveling ourselves. Shoot us an email to see if available. Would love to have you and share what we know about our area.
An hour from Va. Beach and Outer Banks of NC. Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens are an hour away as well. If you are into history there are many places to see.
Thanks so much for the host family, we really appreciated!
Some boondocking experiences are OK, some are good, and others are excellent! This stay was undoubtedly excellent! They were so kind and generous—gifting us a watermelon and even helping us fix up a generator issue. We so appreciated their help and the brief conversations we shared. 10/10 recommend this wonderful couple. :)
Very nice and welcoming folks, great level, quiet spot to park! The hosts were awesome, we only wish we had more time to visit them a little. Highly recommended 👌 🙂
We were on our way home to New York State while the coronavirus situation was worsening. We had been headed out west and turned around because everything is closing and we may not be welcomed in rural communities. Border boondocking were so welcoming and understanding. We kept our social distance and were still able to sit out by their fire pit and get to know each other for a few hours. Really nice folks, quiet neighborhood and easy to level spot. We would stay again, hopefully under better circumstances and to spend some more time in the area.
So nice to meet these guys. It's always amazing how the BW community is so welcoming.
Too bad their Roadtrek was in the shop and we didn't get to see it.
Hoping to see them again when they come in our direction.
We stayed with this couple after having hosted them at our home. Quickly became friends. Very accommodating hosts. Would definitely stay there again and hope to welcome them to our home again soon!
We hosted coffeemate1 in 2018 and are glad we had the opportunity to visit them at their BDW home base. Great accommodating hosts, nice location, but even nicer hosts. If you are in their area I highly recommend stopping for a visit!
Had a great time with our hosts , exchanged lots of roadtrek and camping tips and enjoyed an evening of conversation . Waiting for them to visit us in Michigan to have more good times.
We had a great time with our hosts. Enjoyed great conversation and discovered Senseo coffee and cushes shoes were just a few thi ngs we had in common. Hope to see them at our home soon.
Our hosts were very hospitable & the parking site was ideal on a cement driveway. We would love to return when we have more time to visit with them. An excellent encounter.
After being on the Road for almost a month, this stay at coffeemate was exactly what we needed for rest and shopping. Our hosts were very pleasing and helpful from the moment we arrived until our departure. Their place is peaceful and inviting especially with access to the backyard it was a great place to take my little daughter to play. We hope to one day see them in our place. Thanks J&L
We enjoyed our stay with John and Leigh. Quiet, safe neighborhood! The spot is flat as a pool table with a 30 Amp connection. They were available for our questions and let us know when they were gone. The extra large, fenced backyard was great for our dog to run his legs off. If you are in the Tidewater area of VA (don't let the NC address fool you) this is a great place to be.
It was such a pleasure to meet leigh and John , very active couple who get around and are certainly welcome to our home
We had a great visit sharing wine , food and stories , thanks guys for your hospitality , looking forward to seeing again .
We stayed two nights there. They offered hospitality as privacy. Had nice talks about life and travel with them and sipped a glass of wine at their campfire in the backyard.
We can highly recommend this place and would definately come again, if we could.
Thank you!
Due to a last second family related issue I had to cancel my stay. Prior to that the host called and was very welcoming and made sure I knew all the details.
Thanks again and hope to stay in the future.
Super nice, friendly, informative, helpful, and accommodating.
We had a wonderful night - great location, gracious couple and nice conversation! When you are in CT, please stop by! God bless you and your family
The hosts were exceptionally accommodating and helpful. This was my first time ever using a travel trailer other than the few days it took to get to the site. They were very helpful in showing me the ropes and how to hook-up/set-up at their house and gave me pointers for when I go elsewhere. I hope to have them visit my hometown and keep in touch! Truly wonderful people!
Our hosts J and L were out at the curb when we drove up. They welcomed us like long lost friends or family. They just rolled out the red carpet. We would happily travel back here for no other reason but to stay with them. We enjoyed sharing our camping stories by their fire pit. Thank-You so much for everything. Oh and this was our first BW experience and we were beyond impressed!
Really enjoyed our stay with Coffeemate1. Even though it was brief we felt an almost immediate connection as we compared travel experiences and campervans. We look forward to getting to know them better when they visit us later this year.
I cannot say enough good things about these wonderful hosts! They were very welcoming for me to boondock right before the holidays, and when my original holiday plans fell through, they invited me to spend Christmas with their friends & family, who were all wonderful & fun people. They are so generous and caring, love to exchange stories of adventures. The husband has some know how to help me trouble shoot issues with my generator. They wanted to make sure my camper van is in in shape to continue my journeys. Very sweet people and I feel I've made new friends. Definitely recommend!
We had our first Boondockers' stay here, and it was definitely an experience worth repeating. We received a great deal of tips and tricks for our travel route, which we followed and will follow because so far they have been proven useful and correct. Thank you so much, we had a great stay.
We parked a night in the driveway at there house, these guys went out of their way to make sure we felt welcome and we enjoyed the visit very much.
Thanks Mates!
We were fleeing the cold and heading south, looking for a good stop over. Unfortunately our hosts were out of town, but they still let us spend the night in their level concrete driveway and plug in. It was the perfect solution. Quiet, cute, residential neighborhood. Excellent communication. Wonderful experience.
Thank you to our hosts for a warm welcome, sharing your stories and giving us encouragement on the first leg of our maiden (...less than perfect) voyage. We got the electrical issues all fixed thanks to your advise. And we survived our first month out! We are having a great time... but after 3 weeks we dumped the pop-up and got a real RV that we now call home. Hope to see you on the road!
