Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostI have several sites available on two acres. All have water & sewer. One has 50A, 2 have 30 A. Donation for electric $5/night--when using electric heat or 50A
These are on grass which is kept mowed. Some shade trees, but satellite is accessible
We attempt to keep our sites "big rig" friendly. With a 12' 6" high RV I've learned this is often a problem.
Prefer guests who are able to reciprocate. (i.e.: are you able to provide a site for our rig--40')
Prefer at least 3 day notice--we don't have good wifi, so I don't check email daily.
Because of our location and winter climate, it's best to request date early.
We are in a rural area, across the street from a strawberry field.
We like to be considerate of the neighbors and expect our guests to do the same.
We're at the corner on 2 county paved roads, only a mile from I-4.
Just call or email for hints/detailed directions.
Plenty of room--all grass. Mostly level--about 1 acre. About 100' to nearest street.
We are home during most of the winter months Oct- Mar.
Busch Gardens , Disney, Gulf beaches, Tampa bay, Tampa Aquarium,Lowry Park Zoo.
Close to grocery shopping and several malls within 10 miles.
5 miles to Lazy Days, 1 mile to Campingworld.
This former orange grove was a very quiet and convenient spot. There were a couple of us rvs there and we had a great big bonfire one night. It was so relaxing, a super nice get away. Great host!
Dick was waiting on us as we drove up, and directed us onto one of his three (3) sites. He asked if we wanted to pull-thru, or back in. As we were already situated for backing in, we took this option. Dick had set out little marker flags to line the edges of the site, which served to guide me straight in to the hookups - great idea Dick!
We were all shocked to find out we had spent time working for the same company in Tampa, and had friends in common! It was great catching up on insight as to friends we hadn't seen or heard from in years.
The sites are across the road from strawberry fields (the whole area is well known for growing strawberries), but we were still surprised to see farmhands picking strawberries, as we thought that was done in February.
This is a gem of a place, very close to I-4, very easy to get to and depart from.
We'll certainly be back!
This is a great site! Doverguy was a fantastic host. We only stayed one night but had a great, informative conversation about RVing. Doverguy’s travel stories and advice were invaluable. The stargazing was good. Definitely visit Parksdale Market.
A beautiful place to stay and rest right off the interstate. Absolutely amazing host really enjoyed talking to him and learning all about RVing. A wealth of knowledge. Would love to come back in the future.
Doverguy, has an ideal setup for boondocking, very considerate and pleasant person. This was our first time using this service so was not sure how it all worked. We wanted to attend the strawberry festival and all of the campgrounds were full in the area. His place worked out wonderful. Wish we would have had more time to trade travel stories. Turns out he travels close to us when he is visiting family in the north.
These hosts were welcoming, friendly and extremely accommodating! They were patient with us when we had to cancel our first request, due to tropical storm Eta. We hope to meet up with them another time when the COVID ordeal is over and we can socialize again. Our overnight spot was level and we had everything we could possibly need. Stores to provision at are close by, as is Lazy Days. Thank you for a great spot and for being so welcoming. Also, thank you for being mask friendly! Kathy
Sorry this is a late post, I thought I had left it the day after we left, but for some reason it failed. Dover Guy was a great host and has a very nice set up. We enjoyed talking and they were both very helpful in making suggestions about touring the Tampa area, restaurants, fresh strawberries, etc. The space was very accommodating and allowed privacy and the offer for full hook ups was very generous. We appreciated their hospitality and willing to share their property with us. We hope they will visit NC sometime and also look forward to a return trip to the Grove at some point in the future.
Had a very nice visit with these gracious hosts. They really went out of their way to make us comfortable. Enjoyed visiting with them.
We loved our time at Doverguy's place. So helpful with the local favorite places to visit! Great property and super quiet neighborhood. Loved how clear the sky was to appreciate the stars! Would highly recommend and we hope to return soon!
We enjoyed our stay at Orange Grove. Dick and Pat gave us a little history of the area and the strawberry plants by their house. We even enjoyed strawberry shakes and shortcake with them. They have a beautiful and quiet place. We hope they make it up our way someday. We enjoyed our stay and will come back.
You'd be hard pressed to find more pleasant and convenient camping or nicer people anywhere. We now call the hosts our friends and I'm sure we'll stay in touch. Note: they get more requests than they can acommodate, so if you are lucky enough to stay here, please treat them like gold; they truly are. Thank you, Doverguy, for the for the warm welcome and very enjoyable evening.
We had a great stay at Orangegrove with Doverguy. Amenities were terrific and we had two quiet nights’ sleep. We did a little RV shopping while there. There are several gigantic RV dealerships in the area.
Thanks again Doverguy

Our hosts were wonderful people and very gracious! We would recommend this location...easy access and set up! We were truly blessed to stay there and hope to return soon!
The hosts kindly greeted us upon our arrival and helped us settle into our comfortable camping spot. The Orange Grove is conveniently located near many services and so many strawberry fields! We have visited here in the past and it’s always a great stay!
This is our second time staying with Dover Guy. What amazing hosts they are! The first night we gathered around with another couple staying there and chatted until dark when the mosquitoes came out and drove all of us indoors.
Dover Guy goes out of his way to make sure his guests are situated comfortably and tucked in for the evening. You couldn’t ask for anything more.
Dover Guy's site, Orange Grove, is close to I-4 where it is easy to hop on and head into Tampa or visit one of the many mega RV dealerships within three or four miles of his place.
Once again the warmth of the fellowship will continue long after we leave here, and we are so thankful that our paths crossed. Please come to Georgia for a visit. We would love to see you again. We are normally home November through March. Again, thank you so much for allowing us to stay here.
What a great couple. Excellent accommodations. We will stop back next winter when we have more time. Would have liked to stay longer.
Loved this area.. great hosts. Lots of info for the area and RVing. Great space for 3 campers. Pull threw. With water, sewage and electric. Thank you for the awesome stay. Looking forward to seeing you guys again in the future. . God bless.
We spent two rainy but restful nights at Doverguy's residence. Our host was there to greet us and give us directions to access the water and 30A power. We enjoyed several conversations to discuss mutual interests. We were encouraged to let our dogs run off leash in a large fenced area, Firm grassy site with flowering shrubs, pines and Spanish moss. We highly recommend.
Was nice to chat with couple. I think there was some miscommunication between the stay dates. We were scheduled for friday March 15th and check out the 17th. He must have thought that day was a Thursday because he put it in my review that i was an absentee stay on Thursday. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding or any inconvenience.
Very convenient site with easy access to highway into Tampa. Level grass site with FHU available! Gracious friendly hosts with lots of RVing experience. We were able to leave our rig on site with no worries while going with friends into Tampa. Quiet and peaceful location. We would definately stay again and hopefully have more time to get to know them better.
Just try to find nicer people. I don’t think it’s possible. Beautiful property, great location, and generous hearts. What a find. We look forward to the next time since this short stay already has us feeling like old friends.
Nice property & host willing to tell you of places to go & things to see.
Dover Guy is a very pleasurable hosts. He have a really nice place that is easy to get to and easy to move around in to get parked for your stay.
I hope stop in the future to stay at Orange Grove again. A Nice quiet place that is not to far from the best strawberry shortcake that you can have. Highly recommend this host to anyone looking to stay in the Dover, Fla area.
What a lovely spot we had at Dick and Pat's. We were welcomed with bright smiles and a beautiful setting. The "Orange Grove" is a very peaceful campsite. Dick and Pat have worked very hard at making guests comfortable with full hook ups. We enjoyed a 2 night stay and wished we could have stayed longer! On our first morning Dick brought us some very delicious muffins that were much appreciated! They welcomed our dog, Clancy and he also had a wonderful visit basking in some Florida sunshine! Thank you Dick and Pat and we hope to see you on our "Country Road" in W.V.
We were greeted upon our arrival by our gracious hosts. A beautiful spot formerly an orange grove was very comfortable and conveniently near our route of travel. We really appreciated the fresh baked muffins Doverguy brought us for breakfast! Yum!
Would highly recommend the Doverguy and his lovely wife. Their property is very accessible and conveniently located off of the interstate. Our only regret was we were in the area for the rv show and only had a short time to visit . We did get to set and talk around campfire and discuss our travels. Hope to be able to get back and spend more time just visiting.
You could search the world over and not find a friendlier or warmer couple than our Boondockers Welcome hosts, Doverguy and his wife. --- We came here to attend the Tampa RV show. The first night around a nice campfire we enjoyed the warmth of the fire and the fellowship. --- Doverguy told us that strawberries were in season, and we had to take advantage of our timing. He suggested two excellent places to go for strawberry milkshakes and strawberry shortcake. We are thankful that we took him up on his suggestions. --- Everything was exactly as described and more. With easy access to I-4, this is a great place to stay while visiting Tampa and the surrounding area. We can’t say enough about how much we were made to feel at home here. Thank you for an enchanting visit.
We spent two nights at this host site and we were very happy. Host came out with maps to show us where things were and also recommend a few local sites. Very good time.
Even though we could only stay for a little bit and got side tracked over towards an airstream dealership; we loved our stay here. Easy in and out and all the conveniences while camping. When we make our trip back to FL we will definitely try to stay here again and maybe go for a bike ride!!
Have stayed here before and they continue to go out of there way to make sure their guests are comfortable. These hosts were the reason we joined Boondockers Welcome and they along with many other fantastic hosts we have met at Boondockers Welcome are the reason we keep coming back.
Doverguy and his wife were not home, one of the neighbors came over and showed us where to set up. The site was beautiful which we could have stayed one more night just to relax!
What a great setup- they've gone all-out for their guests. We wish we'd gotten to know our hosts better. A nice quiet spot.
Right away we felt welcomed.
Our two dogs enjoyed the fenced in area.
Very well equipped for guests..couldnt ask for a better place.
It was our first try as guest and we very well enjoyd the hosts.
Well mannered and discrete...
Well informed of the area and likes to share is experience ..

Excellent hosts, perfect location. Hosts were very helpful providing information about the area . Shared great conversation over a nice fire and really appreciated their RV setups. Our dog Sage was treated like a family member and we are most appreciative of our stay. Thank you Dick and Pat.
Thanks for a wonderful stay, perfect hosts, very friendly, and a lovely place. Nice and quiet, yet close to everything.
Dick and Pat are a wonderful friendly couple. We enjoyed our stay immensely. They were so kind to us. Thank you so much. Hope to see you in Canada sometime.
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Orange Grove in January of 2018. You couldn’t ask for better hosts, kind, considerate, friendly, and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with them.
I stayed with these wonderful folks about a year ago and recently when I contacted them about another stay, they were just as warm and welcoming.
The full hookups were so appreciated on the hot FL days!
It's a great location near I4. And if you're there in strawberry season, tooooo <emoji> convenient to fabulous shortcake at Parkesdale Farms!
Stayed with them last year in April, great visit. Stayed again in November 2016 and for a couple nights in March 2017. They have always been extremely nice and helpful hosts. Boondockers Welcome hit a home run when Doverguy signed up to be a host. I echo what everyone else says . . . what a bonus to have full hookups while boondocking.
We spent a few night boondocking at doverguy's location and the experience couldn't have been better. They are wonderful people and we really enjoyed our stay. The location was incredibly convenient and the water, electric and sewer setup was fantastic. We would recommend doverguy's location without hesitation. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
My wife and I spent four nights boondocking with Doverguy this week and it was a great experience for us, and a great introduction to boondocking, since it was our first time. He and his wife have a great setup with plenty of room for several RVs to camp at one time, conveniently located near I-4. They made us feel very welcome and we would highly recommend them as hosts for anyone traveling in the area.
I stayed 3 nights on Doverguy's beautiful property in Jan '17. He and his wife are lovely, great hosts and so very accommodating. This was my first stay using boondockers welcome and I couldn't have been happier. He has 30A hook ups with water and sewer. He is also located in an ideal location in Tampa, not too far off of the highways with plenty of room to maneuver. I would definitely stay again!
Thanks again Doverguy for having me your hospitality was greatly appreciated!
Jason
I stayed with Doverguy Oct. 21, 2016. The location is convenient to Tampa and Orlando. I enjoyed not only the RV amenities but also our conversations about RVing, life, and family. I highly recommend their awesome hospitality. They even offered my dog the use of the fenced yard by their house!
Stayed with these hosts over the Easter weekend. Extremely nice couple. We accepted a invitation to attend Easter services with them, very glad we did. Hope all hosts that we meet through Boondockers Welcome are as nice as they are. Extra nice to have full hookups for the RV.
Dick and Pat are wonderful hosts. We stayed here while we went to the Tampa Supershow which is just a short drive away. They were so hospitable and could not do enough for us. The site is huge and we had access to electricity, water and a dump station if we needed them.
We spent two days here sharing their hospitality with a couple other boondockers. What a ball. The whole group intermingled. We felt sorry for Dick as he serviced everyone's needs in the pouring rain with a smile. We will be back again and had promises they will be up to visit us as well.
We are so happy to have new friends in this area. They are a delight to know. Sending a big thank you to both of you.
This was our first boondocking experience and we are happy that Dick and his wife shared their place with us. Great easy parking with full hookup during our stay and they provided many helpful travel tips during our stay. If you're passing through the Tampa Orlando alley on I-4 we highly recommend visiting with these folks. Easy access to interstate and multiple shopping options in the area. Hope to see y'all down the road.
Very nice accommodating couple. They had a rally to attend, but let us stay. Full hookup if needed and both 30 and 50 amp available! There are a number of spots on grass and lots of room for any size rig. The location is easy to find and not far from I-4. We had a peaceful quiet night.
