Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostWe have an 1850 home in a town 18 miles south of Boston. Transportation into the city via boat or train is available just a short distance away. A calm and quiet location with views of several acres of farmland. To avoid some confusion - the farm land is behind the house and not clearly visible from the street. Our neighborhood is not "out in the country", as it once was.
No smoking on property.
We have limited access to backyard and expect folks to follow directions.
Because of limited access we cannot allow RV's to exceed 25 feet.
We welcome guests to our property. Send us a message to see if we have a spot available to fit your timeline. We do many last minute trips during the year.
City of Boston, Town of Hingham, Plymouth.
wow! What a beautiful setting. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Great location for public transportation to tourists sites. We had a wonder evening conversation. Thank you.
Beautiful area to park within the trees and garden. Our hosts invited us to arrive at our leisure, giving us time to arrange local transportation to the marina and other areas of interest. They came out to meet us and show us where to park. There’s a nice fire pit and sitting areas that are beautifully kept and so relaxing. We loved our time here and are so appreciative to have time to explore the area at our pace. Thank you again for letting us stay “On the Farm”. What a lovely time!
On the farm are perfect hosts, they have a beautiful place. Private, quiet and easy to get to ferry and train to Boston. Pleasant conversation. Who could ask for more. Big thank you for your hospitality.
Nice quiet neighborhood. We greatly appreciated the electric hookup to be able to run the AC! Thank you!
Such a convenient location! Hosts were incredibly gracious. They have a beautiful property with a surprising amount of wildlife!
We loved our stay here. It's a pretty, semi-rural setting with a charming village. The local movie theatre and pub were great. Very handy for getting to Boston by ferry or train.
Very accommodating hosts who move their RV to free up the spot....thank you!
Great stop for us westerners!!! Gracious and interesting hosts. We especially appreciated learning about some local family history and admiring a beautiful 1950 Chevy.
I had a lot of fun going into Boston just an hour away on my birthday. There’s plenty of things close by including a Planet Fitness which is always nice for a workout and a shower. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if they would have me and would welcome them to either of my properties in Colorado!
What a rare find... and I am not only referring to the property setting, but to the wonderful hosts. Really a delightful, welcoming couple. Consider yourself lucky if you stay here.
The hosts were warm and wonderful. Very helpful. Enjoyed the stay. Thank you again!
They are perfect hosts, and the parking spot we used was very beautiful and quiet. Plus, they play pickleball! :)
We would be honored to stay on their property again.
Wonderful folks and very thoughtful, always making sure everything is all right. Thanks so much for sharing such a location with boondockers. Just a boat ride away from downtown Boston.
Rod & Janet are a fun couple to sit & talk with. They have a beautiful home & a large backyard of several acres. It was my goal to visit Boston, Rod suggested that I take the nearby Ferry across the Boston Harbor. WOW! How convenient & a pleasurable trip on a beautiful day. I enjoyed & very much appreciated my visit to On The Farm. I hope that I may return again! Chuck
Everything was perfect , we really loved our first experience with Boondockers. We recommand these host for everyone who wants tranquility and an awesome landscape.
It’s hard to imagine a more beautiful spot to boondock. A canopy of trees in a spacious backyard, complete with an electric hookup if need be. Rod was also a most gracious host, responsive, warm and very helpful. This was our first and only use of this service (so far), and this experience makes us want to do more.
Thanks to Rod and Janet for such a warm welcome. Arrived late and Rod was waiting for me with a flashlight to take me to the back. Nice to wake up on the beautiful wooded area and chat with the hosts about our camping adventures.
On the Farm are wonderful hosts with a beautiful place. We enjoyed staying and were able to explore Boston. We recommend taking the commuter boat rather than the train into the city, but both work. Kind hosts who had lots of helpful info — we would definitely stay here again if we came back to the area.
We highly recommend a stay at this location. Our hosts were most accommodating and generous. Their local knowledge and suggestions about places to visit greatly enriched our visit. The setting is safe, very peaceful and nicely shaded.
We were overwhelmed by the beauty of this spot. Best of all, we were greeted with a big smile and a warm welcome. Only a 10 min cycle or 25 min walk to the Boston Commuter train. Hingham has a rich history to reveal too. They are a really lovely couple and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
Thnx. It was great. Nice spot in the ‘park’ behind the house. Very kind to taxi us to the boat for Boston. Om in het Nederlands te blijven.... een super plek.
Wonderful folks with a great spot! Accommodated our same-day request and helped us into the spot. Would definitely recommend! Thanks again!
Rod and Janet were really wonderful hosts. They offered all that they could to assist us, and more. The weather was grey and chilly, but we still had a wonderful stopover and respite from the road On the Farm. Keep an eye out for the wild turkeys, and be sure to try and mimic their call, they will respond! :)
Thanks for everything Rod and Janet.
Best wishes,
Shlo n Dash
What a nice couple. I've stayed with them a couple of days and they've been very accommodating. If I come through here again I'll certainly contact them.
This boondocking site is a quiet spot beneath the trees in a beautiful area of Maine. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming and it was great to hear their stories about the local area. They are just a couple of miles from the ferry to Boston which is a scenic and relaxing way to approach this vibrant city. Great hosts and we thank them for their hospitality.
From our request to stay "On the Farm", to the quick, and timely response, Janet and Rod were very curtious and professsional :)
Although we arrived a bit early, they had a warm greeting for us, and made sure that we would be comfortable during our stay, and the overnight stay was wonderful, quiet, and easy going for us.
The access to their driveway was easy, and there is no doubt we will return if in the area again. THANK-YOU Rod & Janet
Thank you again I know it was a quick overnight love Boston took the scenic route around the East Shore to avoid the downtown traffic! Quite fun! Passed the racetrack too! Really appreciate the quick in and out ...the highway looks good ...until next time! Kind regards Paula
We spent wonderful nights !
It was very quiet and safe.
We had all the commodities available.
Thanks a lot and nice to met you.
See you next time !
Cheers
Wonderful place to overnight. Friendly folks beautiful surroundings.
This location was our first boondocking experience through Boondockers Welcome and it was a good one! Our Hosts were lovely and their 'campsite' was perfect; close to public transportation into Boston either by train or ferry. They were very responsive when contacting on-line and generous with their time when we visited. We had a fabulous time.
We stayed 2 nights on the farm! It's a peaceful setting with lots of shade. Kept us cool and made for good sleep! Great spot for smaller motorhomes. Blessed with the presence of a couple wild turkeys roaming the property. Very cool to watch! Close to downtown area and harbor. We road our bikes to dinner and enjoyed walking along the harbor. Our hosts we very accommodating and told us about a local parade we attended the next morning with our 3 year old daughter! Hope to see them in Indiana when they complete their visit to the states east of the Mississippi!
We loved staying here. Our hosts were lovely, friendly people, with a great Boondocking location, which we would definitely recommend, very peaceful and safe location.
We stayed at "On the Farm" for 2 nights early November. Having visited Salem, we got stuck driving through rush hour Boston traffic on the way there, and with the sun setting around 4:30pm, we arrived there and it was already dark... They welcomed us and offered us to park near the house or out in the yard, among some big trees - that they have fairy lights set up in! With the lights on, and the colorful leaves on the ground, it looked like an autumn wonderland! We set up near the trees, and they kindly lent us an extension cord to reach the power source. I did some yoga in the yard. The next day we took our bikes and rode to the ferry. We did a whole day riding around Boston, the Freedom Trail, etc. Unfortunately we didn't get to say goodbye as they were at an overnight retreat - but they told us "stay as long as you like" before they left :) Very sweet couple, and gorgeous spot to stop if you are ever in the area! Thank you for having us! Maybe we will run into you in FL this winter!
