Located on a hill overlooking the Garden Valley, the confluence of the North and South Umpqua Rivers. We live up a moderately steep gravel road. Because our RV is parked in our "parking area" the size of the visiting RV could be a challenge if too large (there isn't a turn around). Let's talk.
If you have dogs - they can go off-leash. However, we live in the forest (on a country road) and if you want to see them again - keep this in mind before you let them loose.
We anticipate being on the road between May 2018 - mid-August 2018 but will be in and out of the house on occasion. Contact us to see if we might be home when you need a place to park yourselves.
No smoking of anything on the property. Thank you,
Our chip-sealed road is moderately steep and needs a strong engine pulling your RV to make it.
We have a large parking area adjacent to our home. However, you MUST disconnect the tow vehicle before you come up our steep hill. There is ample area for this disconnect on a (fairly) flat road, PRIOR to climbing the hill to our home.
Like the rest of you, we like to scratch the wanderlust itch... check with us in advance. Water is available during spring, summer and most of the Fall.
Check on the local wines - quite nice. Our favorite is Hillcrest Vineyard. The ocean is about 1 1/2 - 2 hours west of us if you travel to Bandon, OR.
From the time they led eeus from town to their home overlooking the valley below to the visit the night before we left we had a wonderful time. They were great hosts and we would love to see them at our house in the future
Please visit this wonderful couple! Extremely hospitable, made us feel comfortable and offered a ton of invaluable advice for my wife and I, looking forward to keeping in touch. They live in a very charming pocket of wine country that is great to visit, we just had a great time. Thanks again!
We felt like a part of the family when we got offered a glass of wine and some dinner on arrival! Such a lovely couple and so nice to talk to. Lindaclary also made electricity available for us. The view is breathtaking and the surroundings just stunning! Thanks for the great time.
We enjoyed our visit with Linda and Jim. The nearby countryside is beautiful. Their commanding view of it is amazing. It was a pleasure to chat and get acquainted. I look forward to keeping in touch and hearing more about their upcoming adventures.
I had the pleasure of visiting with lindaclary on my way north along I-5. I received beautiful directions to the house. Close enough to be easy access from the freeway, and yet far enough that it was a peaceful country setting! Plenty of room in the driveway, and they provided a great parking spot. They welcomed me and my dogs. Very experienced dog people, that understood the needs of the rescue that I had just picked up and was bringing home. They were wonderful to chat with, and gave me so much good info from their RV experiences. I am looking forward to being able to stay here for another visit in the future!
We stayed at Linda and Jim's home on our way to Washington, and feel lucky to have met such a nice couple. We were greeted with an offer of hot tea, an electrical cord for electricity to our rig, and a gorgeous view and home. This was followed with enjoyable conversation as we sat in the kitchen enjoying our tea. I contacted Linda with a message through the website, and received a phone call within 10 minutes. It was a last minute decision because our plans were made as we traveled, due to weather advisories. Luckily Linda responded quickly! We will definitely stop here again, and appreciated the hospitality!
If I could award them from one to five stars, I'd have to give them six. I bought Linda & Jim's previous trailer and they invited me to stay while I got familiar with it. We had some great times and I look forward to seeing them when they pass through Texas. If I'm ever up that way again, they'll be a "must stop". You can't find nicer people, more fun, or a better view. Pay serious attention to their cautions about the hill and dirt road. They are not kidding. They have an incredible view because they live near the top of the "hill". Having said that, they're only 15 minutes off I-5. If your trailer can make it up there, you owe it to yourself to stop by. Take them a bottle of wine and tell them Rich sent you!
