We are located approximately half way between Gilroy and Salinas, a few minutes west of Highway 101. Travel time to Monterey/Carmel and Santa Cruz are about 35 minutes (depending on traffic). Access to highways 101, 156, and 1 is pretty easy with interchanges in all directions. A grocery store, pharmacy, and auto supply store are nearby in case you need to get provisions.
We are very early risers but go to bed early, too, so keep that in mind when you try to contact us.
We live on two acres in a rural area between Santa Cruz and Monterey on the California coast. Morning fog is not uncommon, but that keeps our temperatures pretty mild. You are welcome to share the sunny gravel/dirt lower driveway where we park our rig. The lower driveway is not near our house or the neighbors so you won't need to tiptoe around. The area is quiet and our immediate neighbors have RVs, so you will be in good company! The site is suitable for smaller rigs (less than 30 feet) and you will need to back in. There is plenty of room on either side for slide outs and self-contained tent campers are welcome. Sorry, no electricity or water available.
Please no smoking or open flame outside your rig.
Generators should be turned off between 10pm and 7am.
No need to come up to the house, just enjoy your stay. We'll stop by if we see you.
Access to our home is through a standard-width, rural, two lane road. Once you turn onto our private drive the road continues uphill to our property (nothing any pull vehicle should have trouble navigating). You will need to be able to back in (or back out) to a right angle spot, but the private drive is not busy and the clearance is good. The trees have been trimmed to accommodate our 11' tall rig but taller vehicles should be able to fit, too.
We have two driveways, the lower one is approximately 60 feet long from where we park our RV to the street. There's plenty of room for a tow vehicle.
Our goal is to travel for one weekend each month, so send us a message to see if we're home.
Good spot when visiting Monterey/Carmel area. A couple of roosters and a dog bark or two, but didn’t bother us. Follow directions carefully. Thanks to our hosts for a good overnite!
We enjoyed listening to the owls at night here. Beautiful and peaceful. The friendly hosts were also very responsive to messages. We appreciated staying here!
Trish accepted my stay request on short notice and sent excellent instructions of how to get to her home. The property was lovely, private and quiet. I came in late and left early so did not meet Trish in person but chatted on the phone briefly. This was a lovely site. Thanks Trish and family for being a great host.
Trish and Ben were really nice and helpfull, they received some package for us from our family with parts for our motorhome. We enjoyed a lot to be at their place, they are really great.
We needed a one night stay in the area on our way to Big Sur. AntiqueHunter was quick to respond and so helpful, even recommending a coffee place in the morning for our coffee fix. We arrived much later than we planned but they had left a marker to let us know where to park and the directions were easy so follow. All just what we needed.
