Leave a reference for this hostQuiet and private bush lot available within village limits of Bayfield Ontario. Easy walking to public beach, village restaurants, shopping and gorgeous Lake Huron sunsets.
Welcome to our hideaway in Bayfield! Please feel to park anywhere in the clearing. Either on the grass or wood chips is fine.
Move the picnic table wherever you want as well. Please ask before having a campfire as you are surrounded by pine and cedar trees and our county often has fire bans in place.
You will notice a camera in a birdhouse on a pine tree to the east of the campsite. That was installed because we were told some kids were using the lot when we weren't around. We do not monitor the camera, but feel free to position yourselves to be out of view if you wish.
As any responsible dog owner is aware you must pick up after your pet.
Enjoy our downtown, restaurants and parks while you are here!.
Site is a grass clearing in a pine and cedar bush. Room to drive in and complete full circular turn to leave without any backing up.
Room for smaller rigs to turn around. We can accommodate larger class A, B and C but tow vehicles 25' limit due to driveway entry to lot.
Send us a message to see if we have a spot available to fit your timeline!
Walking distance to Village of Bayfield Ontario beaches, restaurants and bars. Near Lake Huron, Grand Bend, Goderich, beach walking, golf, many trails to hike.
This is a peaceful and quiet spot surrounding you with all of the beauty that nature has to offer. The hosts are couteous, respectful and very kind. It is a privilege to spend time here.
We love all that the village of Bayfield has to offer. Unique shops and eateries, lovely walking trails and friendly citizens.
We enjoyed our stay! Although it was only for a night as we were passing through it was just what we needed! very quiet and peaceful, all while a quick walk to downtown for some dinner. Would highly recommend!
We’ve stayed with them few times already and it gets better every time . The location and the host are wonderful, beautiful gateway for us .
Recommend 100%
What a wonderful secluded getaway right in the heart of beautiful Bayfield. Enjoyed a great
visit on their deck. Shared many travelling stories. Cannot believe how much we had in common. Thanks again. If you are in Huntsville please look us up. Ken & Holly
Serendipity. My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting the McBrides at Inverhuron Provincial Park while camping several weeks ago. We got talking about Boondocking with them and how they were hosts with a beautiful wooded lot secluded yet close to town (walking distance) and the lake. It did not disappoint. This was our first Boondocking experience, having only recently purchased a Pleasure-Way Plateau, and were blown away with the spacious site and ideal location. The site was large and quiet within a wooded lot. The McBrides checked in on us to be sure everything was okay. The town of Bayfield is a real Gem. We spent the day in town. Parked our RV at the Central Park and strolled the quaint historic Main Street, with it’s many shops and restaurants. We enjoyed a picnic lunch at the park. As well we took in the sites at the Marina. The Bayfield Retreat was a delight and the McBrides are gracious hosts.
The hosts assisted us in setting up on the beautiful site that they provide for guests. Private, nature and beautiful trees in abundance. This stay is a gift to be respected and deeply appreciated. We couldn'tt have asked for a better first boondocker experience.
The McBrides’ spot is great since it is located on an undeveloped lot adjacent to the one their home is built on. It is thus very quiet, even though it is located in a residential neighborhood. There are so many trees, you can’t see the street! The neighborhood itself is supber and within walking distance to everything that Bayfield has to offer (sunset on the beach, shops on Main street, Pioneer Park, etc...). A must!
Great stay , very nice couple makes you feel comfortable always with a smile .
Great place to stay, nice and level, nested in a wooden lot. It is very quiet and a short distance to a park to see the great sunsets and a few block away from downtown. Our host made us feel right at home and we had a nice chat. Unfortunately we had to leave earlier than anticipated so we had to pass on a morning coffee offer. Next time for sure. Thanks for a great night.
We spent 2 lovely days at the McBrides property. Our hosts made us feel welcome. They are knowledgeable about the area and gave us many tips on where to go and what to see. They are very experienced as Boondockers Welcome guests so knew the answers to all our questions. Their little spot next to their house was very private and easy to navigate. We hope to visit them again someday soon.
Lovely hosts. Unfortunately our rig was to large for the described spot. Host where very helpful in finding a alternative spot. And host helped a newbie 5 wheel driver on his first Boondocking experience 😁
Loved the evening chat and bike ride to see great sunset. Highly recommend this site.
The Mcbrides are welcome at our place anytime
All the best and hope you enjoy your summer
The Mcbrides greet us from 6ft distance and welcome us to their boondocking spot. Awesome place close to beautiful Huron lake. Quiet, private and awesome
Thank you!
Not intrusive, but Invited us to tea. We had a great chat. The parking spot was still somewhat soft and wet, but they warned us about that ahead of time. We were careful and all was ok.
We throughly enjoyed boondocking at Pine Croft's little lot in Bayfield. We highly recommend it!
We were pleased to have an opportunity to meet them and share each other's Roadtrek adventures - as well as some nice cupcakes and tea:) MnG, we look forward to coming again. Please visit us in London sometime.
OK, so we didn't stay here but we would have!!
I contacted Pine Croft to reserve a spot...it was very last minute, but everyone recommended Bayfield so I had to give it a try.
As it turned out, they were travelling themselves, but they made the effort, checked out our portfolio, and said we could stay on their spot regardless...thanks for the trust Pine Croft!
Unfortunately the skies opened up and they had mentioned that the spot might be a little soggy. I had visions of digging up their property and declined their kind invitation. I will FOR SURE be back to try again.

I want to thank "Pine Croft" for their gracious hospitality this past week. Their parking area is ideal for a Class B motorhome or smaller trailer. This location is near the downtown Bayfield area with it's many shops, restaurants and boutiques. It is also within walking distance of the shore of Lake Huron.
Since I have family moving to one of the retirement communities in this area I will definitely be returning.
Thanks for the coffee and chat time. Great meeting both of you.
