Paved reasonably flat driveway, next to or in front of the shed. Please use boards or feet under jacks if it's hot out, to not leave holes in the soft asphalt. 15A circuit in shed is available.
Bigger rigs need to borrow the neighbor's driveway to get in & out, careful of the grass as much as possible. If you're not comfortable and skilled backing up, this may not be for you. Toads will need to disconnect to get turned around.
Close access to a fishing lake, canoes & rowboats available. Can fill water with good normal well water from the hose.
Bring your dog! Dogs on leash near the house unless they're well behaved. Neighbors have a small dog who may offer a chase or come running over, and many other critters offer chase. Other neighbor has a large dog with invisible fence who is not good with other dogs.
If your dog won't run off, there is a field and marsh by the lake to play in and explore off leash. Swim in the lake or the pond, but the mud is not so clean....
There is also a fenced garden that dogs can run off leash and our dog would love to play together.
Clean up after pets on the grass please. No worries In the tall grass or the field, go for it! Watch out for ticks in the tall grass; plenty of deer around, and lyme disease can change your life.
No loud or nighttime generators for the neighbors please. Daytime use of inverter or rv installed generators may be ok if it's brutally hot, but please try to manage with the 15a 110v.
I say 'any' size but, but... There is an odd arrangement part-way down our driveway, with a pair of trees on the left & right. With a van or medium motorhome or small trailer, fine to just drive in and turn around. May need to go on the grass to stay centered between the trees, and that's ok if it's dry out, summer or fall. Turning around at the house may take a little back and forth.
A medium or larger trailer, or longer wheelbase bus/rv, recommend you use our neighbor's loop driveway to turn around and back down straight to the shed area. Pull counterclockwise around the large pine tree in the circle loop, and toward the neighbor's yellow house. Then back down straight south on the extra driveway spur to the front of the white shed.
If you're not comfortable backing up, this is not for you. Careful of the neighbor's grass.
Leaving is easiest to go straight up the extra spur driveway, and out the neighbors drive, to the left of the big pine tree.
The access road has some trees over the road, watch for them, but there's plenty of room width-wise.
Couple of paved driveway areas
Hartland is a cute small historic town. Library (open 6 days/wk), small museum (limited hours), junk/antique shop, music hall. It's pretty around here generally, there are numerous parks, hiking, lakes, and cute slightly larger towns, all within 10 miles or so. In spring/summer/fall, the dirt backroads here are great for biking. Anything you may need shopping (Miejer, Target, Walmart, hardware, autoparts) is all within 3 miles. Other local towns (Milford, Fenton, Howell, Brighton) have cute downtowns with breweries, shopping, parks. Further away there is the Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village, a good day trip.
We enjoyed a great stay at Bullard Lake. Host site was easy to find and parking directions were spot on. Daklein and family were very welcoming and friendly.
We stayed a couple of nights. Our hosts were very gracious, accommodating and helpful. Daklein was eager to help with any issue. He gave us fresh water hookup and allowed us to fill up our fresh tank. Thanks so much. We will look you up next time we are in the area.
We really enjoyed our stay. They are a very warming and friendly family.
The Host helped me with several little issues on our tow dolly and motor home. Beautiful, quiet place. A great place to stop.
Beautiful location. Host actually straighten the bent rims on my bicycle! Could not have asked for more congenial. hosts. So glad we stopped. The strawberry pie ala mode was a delicious surpurprise' sy=erry Will definitely will ask to stay there again on our way homelater this
My first experience and was treated like a welcomed guest. Instructions to find correct site parking were specific and clear. The family made every effort to make my stay comfortable. Thank you Klein family
Our visit was short but nice. The owner met us out at the driveway and helped back our rig in. His wife and daughter came out and visited. They were kind and gracious. Because we are fully contained we didn’t need any hook ups but some were available. The spot is nice and quiet.
Thanks so much hosting us. Nice long lane and drive was great for walking the dog. It was fun talking solar and seeing a different setup. Kids loved seeing the cranes.
What wonderful hosts. Offered us use of their canoe, a shower if we needed it,... We had a nice visit with them. Thank you so much for your hospitality.
It was a pleasure to stop here and they were so hospitable and kind.
Please let us know if you plan to visit England as you have a place to stay with us! :-)
Enjoyed our evening, - they went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, could not be friendlier.
Wished it was not raining in the morning so we could have taken a walk around the pond in their backyard.
We very much enjoyed meeting these friendly folks who welcomed us to their beautiful neck of the woods. Their home is at the end of a pretty country lane and the driveway overlooks a pond and a lake. The hosts took us over to see their family chickens and shared what it is like to care for them, and gave us a dozen fresh eggs of different sizes and colors--almost too pretty to eat! Although we were encouraged to take out one of their rowboats or canoes, or stroll the grounds, it was too wet of a weekend for that. However, we did enjoy walking the paved lane and quiet country roads in the evening. I would highly recommend these members as hosts, as they are the kind of people worth meeting.
