Have you stayed at this host location?
We are just a few miles from the Wisconsin Dells overlooking the Baraboo Ridge. We have space with electric (20 amp) and water hook up and we are just a few miles from a dump station. We are on 25 acres of land with walking paths where you can take your dogs off leash. Mirror Lake State Park is less than 5 miles and Devils' Lake State Park is about 15 miles. This is a big vacation area in the Midwest and we have a lovely place for folks to stay for a day or two. We can accommodate two vehicles if folks are traveling together. We are exactly half way between Minneapolis/St Paul, MN and Chicago IL.
Please respect our property and our pets and our neighbors. We like having guests but remember we are not a campground. Let us know what your arrival and departure times will be, treat us like family (if you treat yours well) and we will be fine. Your dogs, if you have them, must play well with others.
Paved, just a few miles off freeway. Take a look that Semi Rig coming down our driveway to access the field behind us. Unless you are bigger than that, you will make it in just fine!
Parking next to your rig.
We are home for most of the spring, summer and fall into early winter but take off for trips during all of this time. Let us know in advance when you are in our area and we will be happy to make arrangements for you.
Wisconsin Dells Water Parks and Amusement Parks, Circus World Museum, House on the Rock, International Crane Foundation. Mirror Lake State Park and Devils Lake State Parks are great for hiking and fishing, Taliesen (Frank Lloyd Wright Home), American Players Theatre.
We arrived just ahead of the rain but Dick and Jaye had us cozied in and hooked up to 20 amp electric by their pond before it let loose. We shared a wonderful hour or so of wine and conversation accompanied by their two beautiful Irish Creme Golden Retrievers. Later their "puppy" came over for a romp with out little terrier. Morning broke rain-free so our dog and their dog and I had a great walk through the property. Birds everywhere. Heard but did not see Sandhill Cranes.Jaye is a great birder and Dick is into golf. We had a wonderful time and are making this as a favorite in our account.
An exceptional place to boondock, provided by exceptional hosts. Although I didn’t meet Dick (he was out fishing on Lake Michigan) Jaye made me feel right at home on their beautiful property, just minutes off the highway. Can’t say enough good things about this warm, gracious and lovely woman who, from the minute I pulled up, seemed like a friend I hadn’t seen in a long time. Her two beautiful Golden Retrievers, Maisie & Trixie (a raucous pup!) were a hoot and my Yorkie had the time of his life chasing Trixie all over Jaye’s beautiful back yard (although “acreage” is a more apt description than “yard”!). I was actually sad to leave but had to get on towards my destination. However, with the amount of travelling Jaye & Dick do, I wouldn’t be surprised if we’ll meet again.
Great location wonderful fun and educational visit Very nice folks pleasure to have their company thank you and I hope to see you again
Great place great people great time So nice and helpful too.
Hope to see them again
We had a delightful two night stay with these hosts. Wonderful quiet location and thanks for the welcoming sit by the fire.
From the minute we arrived we were treated like family! We were welcomed by three beautiful dogs and a warm and inviting bon fire. Jaye is very knowledgeable about the area and gave us some great recommendations - Dick's experience in building is echoed in their beautiful log home/garage/workshop. Their property and views of the surrounding hills/ridges are spectacular!!! Wish we had been able to stay longer, but we will definitely try to go back again sometime - and we look forward to hosting them when they travel to our area!! Thanks again Jaye &Dick!!!
What great people. Enjoyable conversation and location. Perfect for someone traveling I90 through Wisconsin. Q-U-I-ET!
We ended up not actually making it to Dick's and Jaye's but I wanted to say thanks for all your efforts to get us there and we will likely make it another time since Teri's son lives in the area. Thanks again!
