I cannot tell how much we loved to stay at bobnelson's place. We were received like family, had a great night and the kids really enjoyed the company of their lovely dog.
Bobnelson were just what we needed. Our front brakes had to be unexpectedly replaced. We'd been towed to Baker City on Monday morning - finally got brakes fixed by 4pm. We're not a fan of state parks and we were hot and tired - not sure where to go. On a whim, I emailed Bob and he called back almost immediately. We were only an hour away. Their property is beautiful - they invited us in and treated us like family. Even shared dinner and non-stop conversation. Thank you! Judy & Larry (Wanda & Vern)
Bobnelson are fellow RV'ers so they know just what is needed; great instructions, flexibility and such warm hospitality! They let me ask 1000 questions about their area, the history and they gave me wonderful beef tacos! Great discussion and a wonderful young woman (their granddaughter) made this a memorable stop. The spot where they live is special too; a great view, lots of critters (wild and domestic) and a nice neighborhood. I would love to come back and stay longer but I was within kissing distance of seeing my son so I had to move along! Hope they come visit NY! Molly
Thank you, Nelsons! We had a most wonderful time in June this year! All your efforts to provide for a lovely stay was met and surpassed! Many Thanks, Doyle and Susie Hughes
Wow what a great experience, gave a LOT more than just a gravel lot to park beef stew, apple pie and great friendship. Oh ya I guess I'm not suppose to tell you about the stew and pie. Don't be put off by the short drive off the hyway, the view at night alone is worth it. The only downside was we didn't have enough time to stay long but there is always the return trip home from the Baja right? Thanks again Bob and Betsy
Was unable to stay because he already had so many staying. But was great at communicating, especially as he checked for extra space. Thanks
Bob and Betsy are the friends you've always had but never met! WOW all I can say is they are amazing. Had a blast at dinner with some beers and as Bob would say, swapping lies and telling stories. They also brought water and 50 amps right to the rig. Their pup violet is amazing too! We came as strangers and left as friends. Truly great host!
We stopped for one evening on our southbound journey to Mexico and we will definitely be stopping by again. What a wonderful host couple... and so organized !!! Shelley was taking photos of Bob's camping gear and workshop to post inside my shop just to keep me motivated on how it should/could be done. We had a lovely evening. Thank you.
We only stopped for a night, but ended up staying two nights because our truck needed some repairs. I'm only mildly mechanical, so with Bob's lead and tools, we found the problem but weren't able to fix it because the issue was a bit advanced for both of us. He recommended a local mechanic and the truck was fixed the next day. Thanks, Bob!! The evenings were cool and pleasant, and so was the company of Bob and Betsy, sharing stories of our RV adventures, mishaps, and good times. We'd love to see them again when we pass back through the area. And then there's Violet. Violet is a dog. Violet is a big, happy dog. My kids love Violet. Violet loves my kids. You'll remember one another fondly. :)
Thank you - "B,B,V&PC" for a great stay! Love you guys !! D&S, DPS Life Members
Bob and Betsy were wonderful hosts. The are a bit off the beaten path (I-84) however, it's worth the drive. Lovely, quiet rural, scenic spot with electricity and water. Had a lot of fun talking over a delightful dinner. Got to meet sweet Violet Labradoodle and her friend, a visiting inspiring dog, Bell. It was the highlight of my week and I'll surely make my way back any time I'm in the area to reconnect. Highly recommend!
Warm welcome, delicious dinner, beautiful and shaded parking space, electricity, laughter, and friendship. Bob and Betsy are wonderful people, and made us feel at home and part of the family immediately. On our next trip to Montana, we will make it a point to travel this direction again, just to reconnect. Thank you for hosting us and becoming our friends!
