We have a 13 acre property at the edge of a small village on the south shore of Rice Lake, about 15 minutes north of Highway 401 at Cobourg. The boondocking spaces we offer are treed and relatively private, located between our pond and the road. A gravel driveway leads off the paved road, through a lawn area with the boondocking sites on either side, and continues another 300 feet up to our house. There is an electrical outlet near the boondock area that can be used for light electrical loads (no A/C units or electrical heaters as the 15 amp circuit is at the end of a long run from the house and will not support a large electrical load). Parking your unit on the lawn is weather dependent, too much rain and the ground softens, in which case we situate you partway onto the gravel driveway. Suggested Local Attractions: Proximity to beautiful Old Ontario towns of Cobourg and Port Hope, boating and fishing on Rice Lake and Trent Severn Waterway, Lang Pioneer Village and Canadian Canoe Museum (re-opens late 2023), Conservation Areas and Ganaraska Forest trails, Summer Festivals and Fall Studio Tours.

Location

Access Road Conditions: The county road to our property is a paved road, you then turn onto our gravel driveway. The boondocking area is on either side of the driveway as you enter. You may have to back your RV into our driveway and then onto the grass depending on how you want to orient your unit. We prefer that you park on the east side of the driveway (ground is firmer on that side) especially after rainy weather. Just to be safe, please review with us where to place your RV before parking it. If the grassy area is too soft, we may ask you to park along one side of the driveway instead. Tow Vehicle Parking Details: There is plenty of room beside the driveway for your tow vehicle.

A wonderful little spot just off the road, perfect for an overnight to be close to the lake for morning adventures. Extremely friendly hosts who chatted to us for ages!

We had a great stop here Maya and Terry are really great hosts they gave us a lot of useful information for our trip ahead and also walks in the area. Two lovely people we could have stayed longer just chatting away to each other, thanks again for letting us stop over.

Beautiful quiet location next to pond Willows and covered bridge. Owners are very kind and helpful. Only about 20 minutes to Cobourg, great little town. Just a few minutes drive to local small beach and general store. We will definitely stop by again on our next trip through there.

We got there late and were super exhausted so took a quick walk to the lake and iff to bed but host was super friendly and lovely dog , will be back again if we are ever thos way . very special unique cosy spot
