We are located approximately half way between Las Vegas and Death Valley in the beautiful Pahrump Valley. The boondocking spot is in front of the house so you can pull in and pull straight out when you leave. You will be parking on gravel. Slideouts/awnings ok if you park your rig so the slideout is facing the house. One pet would be welcome. No electrical hookup. Water hookup if needed.
No generator during quiet hours of 9pm to 6am
1 dog only please.
Clean up after pet. We have a completely fenced backyard where your dog is welcome to run for some exercise. Just let us know before you go in the backyard so we can make sure our dog is in the house.
No smoking on property.
Easy access from the major highways.
Street parking in front of house.
Available generally from mid-August through mid-May.
Winter and spring are especially nice times to come through, especially if you're going to visit Death Valley. Please send us a message to see if the spot is available when you'll be coming by.
We do a lot of last minute trips in the summer, but feel free to give us a shout and see if we can accommodate you.

This was my 2nd stay with the Desert Rats. As before, it was quiet and I was able to easily come and go. This time I was able to get in a day trip to Death Valley and it was stunning. Perfect weather/time of year. Great little oasis in Pahrump.
We had a great stay at Desert Rats place. Unfortunately our daughter wasn’t feeling well so we stayed at the trailer and didn’t explore much. Other than car’s driving by every so often, it was pretty quiet there.
We didn’t see much of our hosts because the lady was away and the husband was working. But we send them our thanks for being our first BW hosts!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit in Pahrump. Thank you so much for hosting us, we would love to return in the future.
Mrs. Desert Ray was very kind when I met her. We chatted for awhile and she has many interesting talents. The space is right in front of their house and it was an easy in and out. Because I drive a converted cargo van, the exact level front to back is not super important. I was level side to side will little fuss. It was very nice to have this option while I was in Pahrump. Thank you Desert Rats!!!
They invited us in and we had a nice talk.
We had some questions and immediatly they helped us by making a fonecall to get answers. It was a quiet neighbourhood and a perfect stay after leaving Death Valley. We can recommend this place to everybody.
I felt safe and comfortable parked along side the main road in front of the house. It is a quiet neighborhood, hardly noticed any traffic going by. It was a very pleasant stay. I would recommend these Hosts to anyone.
For our first Boondocking experience it was more than expected. We had a lovely welcome at the property (even after we changed plans and arrived early than expected) and invited us in, we chatted for a while and was given a cold homemade ginger ale to try, which was delicious. The plot to park on was nice and spacious and easy pull in pull off space. Great location between death Valley and Las Vegas. Thankyou for being a great host!
A quiet area with sweet and friendly hosts
I had a lovely visit with Marilyn in the shade on the front patio. The parking spot they have created for Boondockers Welcome guests is level along the street making access in and out extremely easy. It is quiet and dark - there were a gazillion stars. Harry Potter, my 15-year-old Beagle loved sauntering in the grass in the front yard.
Rainy day and you were busy but appreciated the hospitality and quiet night. May very well be out your way next year. Thank you
Marilyn met us upon arrival and welcomed us to their property. She was also kind enough to share a ladder so I could make some repairs. It was an easy in and out, parking along the street, for our 23’ travel trailer. We are thankful for Glen’s and Marilyn’s hospitality and generosity in letting us spend the night.
Stayed for 3 days,& had a very pleasant stay. Hosts were very accommodating. It was great being so close to the city to take care of many needed items, and yet stay in a quiet peaceful neighborhood! Definitely a plus to be able to be in a "pull though" type stop. Would love to stay here again if I am in the area :).
Thanks Glen & Marilyn
This was our last boondockers host for our seven month trip and it was wonderful!
We didn’t stay long (overnight only) but we did get a chance to have a chat and thank them for their hospitality. They provided us with everything we needed and were very kind. A+
We loved our stay at the desert rats! They are really friendly hosts and live in a nice quiet street. We enjoyed chatting with them and they have a really cute excited dog! Thank you for our stay :)
Very kind welcome, we had a warm night in our van thanks to the electricity provided and were happy to meet the host in the morning.
He let us inside to use the bathroom and our toddler was so happy to use the rocking horse for a bit.
He offered us to stay longer to stay warm with upcoming snowstorms, but we decided on continuing on so we can get to warmer temperatures soon.
Thank you for your hospitality!
The Desert Rats are wonderful. They invited us to have a lovely chat before bedding down.
We spent one night there and we wish we spent more! The location was great - only a one hour drive from Death Valley. Mountains are wonderful there and so was our boondockers stay :)
Thank you for hoting us, you made our trip even better than it was.
Wishing you the best,
Our hosts were welcoming and invited us in when we arrived. We chatted a few hours sharing stories. Nice people. Glad we met them!
We stayed for one night in front of their house on our way from Death Valley to Red Rocks. We spent a very nice evening with them and they are a really nice and helpful couple. They even let us bathe our little daughter in their bathtub.
We stayed one night at this Boondocker location on our way to Death Valley National Park. They were very nice and accommodating. Would not hesitate to recommend and would definitely stay there again. Quiet, nice neighbourhood. Thank you again!
Marylin and Glen are very nice and friendly. We had some car problems while we were there and they were very helpful and supportive. And they make the best fruit smoothies ever!
