We live on 2 acres (1 is wooded) in a rural area in southwestern Michigan about 1-1/2 miles from I-94, 7 miles from Paw Paw, a town of about 3,000 (25 miles from Kalamazoo--pop. 80,000). We have an access to Eagle Lake, a 5-minute walk away, for swimming, kayaking/canoeing, relaxing, fishing. We are 30 minutes away from Lake Michigan. We frequently bike the Kal-Haven (Kalamazoo-South Haven) trail, a 40-mile "rails-to-trails", paved with crushed limestone. We often access the trail at Grand Junction and ride into South Haven for lunch (a 24-mile round-trip ride). Wineries? We've got 'em. There are several good restaurants in Paw Paw and the surrounding communities--one of our favorites is the outdoor patio at La Cantina. Fresh fruit and veggies? Local Farmers' Markets are everywhere.

We are home much of the time May through December. Send us an email first to see if we have a spot available which will fit each of our timelines.
Lovely spot in the country that was perfect as a stopping point on our way to Ontario. Wish we had had more time to explore the lake etc.
I was greeted with warm hugs by Julie & Kel and immediately made to feel at home on their shady, spacious property. After a pleasant and informative chat with them I settled in for a peaceful night and even slept in, not realizing I’d changed time zones! No worries, my hosts came to say goodbye before heading off to see their grandchildren. This is a lovely, well-travelled couple who would make any traveler feel welcome. And Larry had a great time chasing chipmunks and squirrels, too! Thanks Julie & Kel!
Kjkohlhaas is a great place to spend the night. It’s a nice quiet spot and we had a deer walk right up to us while we were sitting outside in the evening. Thanks so much!
Beautiful setting, interesting conversations, very nice folks. If you pass up Paw Paw, you have missed out . Hope to see them again.
Very warm and hospitable people - always welcome to visit us in England anytime! :-)
These are some of the best people you will ever encounter. Be nice to them - or you'll have me to answer to ;-)
