First I requested this stay at the last minute which I don't like to do to someone and this caused a communication mix up, once we got past this it turned out to be a great stay. He provides a nice parking spot and that's all you need from a boondocker host. He's has a mini farm with a few animals and lots of things on the property. Bob was a gracious host and would like to stay again if he'll have us.
Very friendly host near Antietam. Excellent location for visiting several Civil War battle sites.
I had a delightful two-night stay at this gentleman's country farm where he has goats chickens and an avid interest in restoring classic cars.
He graciously helped me get my bike to the c&o canal trail.
He also helped me look over my RV and help me to make sure that it was being maintained properly for my journey.
I highly recommend him if you are in the Antietam or Washington DC area.
He and his mother were gracious hosts the surroundings were very peaceful quiet and lovely.
We stayed with Outdoorsman for one night in November. He was great help getting us parked. In the morning we woke up to their baby goats, and chickens in nearby enclosures. And then we met their 5 hunting beagles! He gave us many suggestions of things to do nearby, and she gave us some delicious chard from their garden. Wonderful hosts! Thank you :) We ended up leaving in a rush as we signed up for a tour and wanted to get there on time - so sorry to rush out on you! Thank you for your hospitality!
I spend two nights at this location. Met Bob and his wife who were both very gracious hosts. Bob and I spent a couple hours the first evening chatting and getting to know each other. The location was well suited for my purposes. Fairly flat grassed area. It is an out of the way location but not that far from Route 15 if you are travelling that area. Less than an hour to Gettysburg. I also went to Harper's Ferry for a day trip before returning for the night.
Very quiet location ... except for the thunderstorm the first night. Did I forget to mention the hail as well?? No problems. It wasn't too severe and no damage.
Thanks again Bob ... look forward to seeing you again next time I head that way.
