Thank you L for providing this place for us to stay and explore the area. The deer and the turkeys were a big plus.
This was a flat spot, convenient to various places such as Custer State Park and Wind Cave National Park. Very quiet and quite private as well. We were able to park under a shade tree which was nice.
We did not meet our hosts.
Wild and woolly were very accommodating on A days notice. Their space is very easily accessible, right off a main road. They look like a fun couple. Unfortunately they were having guests when I was there so I didn't get to meet them. Maybe next time around. However their graciousness was very much appreciated!
Easy to park and stay. I put down the camper, and explored the Iron Mountain Road and Needles Highway. Thank you!
Good location while exploring the area. Very quiet and peaceful night.
Thanks for hosting, perhaps another timne we will be able to meet up.
Our stay at another boondocker fell through because of the weather and this host reacted quickly and set us up at their town location.
Great, quiet spot (even saw some deer there!) near a lot of amenities, wind cave NP and the mammoth site. Also safe for our toddler to roam around.
Thank you!!!!
We did not met Laurie and his husband since they were out of town but they arranged everything to make our stay pleasant at their 4plex in hot springs. We have only spent one night but it was very appreciated. We highly recommend these host if you pass by Hot Springs and we hope to have the chance to meet them next time.
Found the spot exactly where it was supposed to be! Shady spot and very private despite being a town spot. Host inquired about our well being due to local emergency. It was all good.
We want to thank our host for everything. She helped us a lot!!!!!!
Even though we did not met eachother we had a good talk at the phone!
We were a little late arriving but Laurie met us with a smile! Very quiet place and a great nights sleep.
We stayed here for a few nights. The ground is a bit sloped but it wasn't a big deal. The views around the winery are really great with lots of beautiful horse fields. The winery was cool to visit and we enjoyed their six sample flights quite a lot. Keeneland race track is near by and we had a lot of fun there. Also visited the distilleries. We never met our hosts, but the experience was a good one. Recommended stop.
Laurie met us and our horses at the driveway and after we negotiated the tight fit through the driveway it was smooth sailing. Laurie had warned us about the bumper crop of sand burs they had this year and encouraged us to set up our horse corral on the only bit of green lawn still left after their landscaping project! The horses were in heaven! The spot for the RV was nice and level and not far from the horses. Laurie invited us in for some conversation, but we discovered some electrical issues with the coach that Dave had to try to fix. Thanks Laurie and family for a wonderful stay even though we didn't get to know you this time.
Maybe next year?
Jon and Laurie were the best hosts. Providing us with a very pleasant place to spent the night. Folks like these are the best!
Jon and Laurie made us feel right at home and like part of the family. The site was clean and level with good views. It was a great place to explore the Black Hills from and make new friends. Our son was thrilled to have the opportunity to see other kids and we all enjoyed our time there. Thanks again!
Jon & Laurie are great people and very interesting to talk to. Accommodations were everything we needed. Our only regret is we were short on time and had to get moving on our sightseeing and didn't have time to talk more.
Jon & Laurie are very cordial. We plugged into a 20amp for one night before going to Mt. Rushmore. We had a great conversation with Laurie about the experiences of adoptions the morning of our leaving. They are welcome at our Texas home anytime.
To get to meet you!!
We were delighted of our visit.
Big thanks for the conversation, the laughs and the help
Anne marie and I are waiting for you.... in any cities we live in

Jon and Laurie are great hosts. They're surrounded by rolling fields and pastures, far enough from the tourism hustle that it's peaceful and quiet, but close enough to the destinations that draw you to the Black Hills area that it's an easy drive to visit. We felt welcome from the moment we met! It's a casual, comfortable, rural environment and our whole family loved it.
Only a little out of the way, and we sure were made to feel at home. You don't get to know an area or country without connecting with the people who live there. A little tour of the Black Hills we took turned into a big one and regrettably prevented more time and conversation with this wonderful South Dakota family.
