I have two acres just north of Vallecito Reservoir, north of Bayfield, Colorado. It is about 8000 elevation and is always nice and cool with low humidity. My property is covered with large pine and spruce trees. There is a stream running through the property and there are other streams where you can fish. I'm also about 3/4 mile from the lake. Suggested Local Attractions:There are many streams and rivers to fish for trout; there's also a good size lake where you can catch trout, salmon, bass, pike and other species. You'll also find many hiking and ATV trails in the area. There is also Durango and Pagosa Springs within an hour's drive.

Age:

Retired from the military (USAF) and Univ of Texas. Details: I enjoy traveling and meeting others. I enjoy hosting/meeting people from other areas. Summers (May-Sep) I spend at my cabin outside of Bayfield, Colorado. I spend the winter months in the country outside a small town 30 miles southeast of San Antonio, Texas. Home Town: Winter - Floresville is a small agricultural town with an old courthouse on the square as well as a few antique shops, an old downtown section and newer grocery stores including a super Wal-Mart. Summer- I live at Vallecito Reservoir, north of Bayfield, Colorado. It's a great mountain area with lots of hiking and fishing opportunities. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Most anywhere in southern Utah or any mountain. Skills or Expertise to Share: Not much in this area. Kind of a jack of all trades and master of none. Love classic cars. I rode motorcycles for 45 years. Quit riding a few years ago though.

Thank you Gary for your great hospitality! We arrived later than we planned and Gary let us and showed us where yo park. nice big LEVEL area too! Close to a bubbling creek and a picnic table! Gary offered us 15 Amp and brought out a LONG cord and when we ran out if water, let us fill our tiny tank. Great stay and we look forward to returning in the future! Thank you! Great location and Gary was a host. The area is beautiful and Gary pointed us to a nice place to hike a few miles away. Really enjoyed our stay and appreciated Gary’s help.

Gary & Maggie were so welcoming. We had a great time under the big giant shade tree right off the lil'river running thru their land. Gary helped us get all set up when we arrived and was very helpful in general. Wonderful people! We loved the area - first time over near Vallecito Reservoir. Love it all and great stars at night! Thanks guys!

Gary and Maggie are the perfect hosts. I'm so glad we stayed two nights and had a chance to explore the area. They made us feel like part of the family and we can't wait to go back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cool-o-Rado. Gary and Maggie were incredibly hospitable (including a mug of hot apple cider with rum on a cold and rainy July evening!) and regaled us with their stories. It was nice the first evening strolling down to the creek with our camp chairs to sit and enjoy a drink in the day’s waning hours, and eating dinner at the shaded picnic table nearby. We look forward to staying again!
