My husband and I are retired teachers that love the outdoors, travel, gardening and dogs. We split our time between our large family and pursuing our dream of travel. Details: Rick and I raised a family of six children while we pursued a career in education. After 30 plus years, we have retired and we are loving it. We choose to say we are renewed, not retired. We live on a 20 acre hobby farm in North West South Carolina. We are close to white water rafting, the appalachian trail, and national forests. I'm a master gardener and grow as much of our food as possible along with lots and lots of flowers. We have also developed a line of goldendoodles and have two to three litters a year of health tested, temperament tested puppies. The parents are therapy dogs that work in local hospitals, schools and assisted care facilities. Between the dogs, our growing family, the farm, and our outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling and kayaking, we stay pretty busy. Our favorite way to travel is in our RV. We take our two mini goldendoodles, Frisco and Calhoun and travel far and wide across the US. We always seek out boondocking opportunities. We do not care for the "resort" type rv camping. We are so used to living out with no neighbors that we seek out remote places with as few campers as possible. Our favorite trips are to natural areas such as Zion, Brice, the UP of Michigan or anywhere else where we can get out and hike, bike kayak and enjoy the National parks. We sometimes find it difficult to travel with the dogs as so many places, such as many of the national parks, do not allow dogs. Home Town: Westminster SC but we are 12 miles outside of town in the Pisga National Forest Favorite Boondocking Locations: Anywhere that is out in nature. The more remote the better. Skills or Expertise to Share: We have learned a lot about rving in the past five years. Our longest trip to date is 90 days and 9,000 miles. We are good in the woods and spent the first 25 years of our marriage back packing and camping with the kids. Mechanics we are not but we can cook just about anything on an open fire. Birding, wildflowers, woods skills, anything to do with dogs are our expertise. Rick is a historian, guitar player and loves to share his knowledge. I know a lot about animals and dogs in particular. I train and raise goldendoodles as therapy dogs and pets for families. I am also master gardener

The site was a nice fairly level paved pad with water adjacent.. art night due to lack of ambient light the view of the stars was amazing.. great location on top of a hill.
