Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostThis is a 6- acre wooded lot with a large pond so you will not be close to the neighbors. Pets are welcome if you keep them from running loose. Please clean up after them, or make sure they do their business in the woods - which are plentiful! Please contact me for more information. Fresh water is also available to refill your tanks and 15-amp electric can be made available.
If you smoke, please DO NOT THROW BUTTS on the ground - place them in your garbage. Please leave the driveway clear so people can drive in and out at any time. If are parking up near the house, please keep music low since there is a bedroom upstairs over the garage. Clean up any doggie do-do and throw into the woods. Please do not throw any plastic bags or trash in my BROWN recycling can (we can only recycle #1 & #2 plastic, glass, aluminum and steel cans, paper and cardboard). Feel free to throw your TRASH IN THE BLUE CONTAINER at the end of the driveway.
Easy access from Ohio Turnpike, Interstates 80, 90, 71 and 480. All paved roads and paved, level driveway. Entrance to drive has a drainage ditch under the driveway, so it is important to stay on the pavement. Driveway is 12' wide. Check with me on the parking situation to determine what is available for you to use. Be careful to NOT go off the concrete driveway since it is often very wet and soft and you'll sink in mud and destroy the grass.
The tow vehicle can park near where you park your rig. Contact me before you arrive about parking details - depending on weather conditions. There is not a good area to turn around if you have a tow vehicle.
You are welcome to camp even if I am not home, so just send me a message and we can arrange your stay. Winters in Ohio are probably not the best for camping, but if you need a spot and the roads aren't bad, you are welcome to try.
REST OF THE FINE PRINT: Pets on leash only, as we have 4 indoor/outdoor cats. Electricity is only 15 AMP. You may run your generator between 9 AM and 10 PM.
Our wi-fi is password-protected and I can give you the password when you arrive. If you have a really strong booster you might be able to receive the signal, so we can try. Verizon signal is good. T Mobile is very weak.
Downtown Cleveland is only 25 minutes away - home of the 2nd largest live theater district in the country, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Great Lakes Science Center- including the NASA Glenn Visitor Center, sports events - Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers, Browns Stadium, and University Circle - including the Art Museum, Natural History Museum, Modern Art Museum, Severance Hall (Cleveland Orchestra's home), Crawford Aviation and Auto Museum. About 1 hour away is Cedar Point Amusement Park, the Lake Erie Islands Ferries - to go to Put-in-Bay, etc. and great boating/Lake Erie fishing and swimming.
We were so happy to meet our host. She is very helpful. She treated us to dinner on her back deck the first night. Great conversation and even better company. Lots of stories shared & memories made. I hope to stay with her again at some point in our travels. Thank you so much for your hospitality 😊 Very happy campers
Great place to work for the week. Didn't get to meet the host but she was very kind and let us plug in for power and fill our water tank. Many thanks ForsythiaForest!! Great ATT and decent Verizon.
Nice and quiet. Our short stay here was a pleasant one. Took a day trip to cayahoga valley, and cooked a meal together
We had such a lovely stay. The grounds were beautiful and quiet and our host was very friendly and accommodating.
While the host wasn’t here, they still let us enjoy their hospitality. A very restful location, no cares in the world. I would recommend their site to anyone needing a great place to boondock.
It was very nice to meet you and thanks for the recommendation in Michigan. We are going there tonight.
ForsythiaForest was a wonderful spot for our stay! Tucked away from the main road, this was a perfect spot for us to work remotely during the day. And just a 30 min drive to downtown Cleveland allowed us to explore at night. At the last minute, our camper broke down and we couldn't make it on our first night, and ForsythiaForest was more than understanding. We had a great 2 days here--thank you so much ForsythiaForest for being a wonderful host! We hope to return again.
Tip for future boondockers: If possible, arrive during daylight to make the back-up job into the driveway a bit easier!
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. Your hospitality was greatly appreciated. Everything is turned off and as it was before we arrived. You have a little gift of chocolate at the front door waiting for you! Thanks again for everything!
It was very nice to visit again this beautiful place and get to meet again with my host. Such a nice and welcoming person! Thanks for everything!
Due to rain, we were having some trouble backing our trailer up the long driveway so our host graciously offered us to park in the neighbours driveway as it was wider. We had a comfortable sleep with a lovely view of a lake. Thank you!
Loved our stay at Forsythia Forest! Even though the host was gone on her RV adventure when we arrived she was still kind enough to let us stay. We parked in a big beautiful field where my dog got to play. He loved it. Quiet and beautiful, what more can you ask for. Thank you once again!
Forsynthia Gorest was a great place to stay. Plenty of space close to shopping and not far from Cuyahoga NP and Huntington Beach Bay Village. Great host who we"ll come back to when we're in the area. Thank you for great visit. Will definitely recommend.
My host was fantastic. She has a great sense of humor and did her best to accommodate my needs. Both being scuba divers, we had a lot to talk about, and with her neighbor being a pilot, as am I, we had dinner and swapped fun stories. You may need to back into her driveway (about 250 feet) to get to the parking spot depending on the size and type of your rig. I have a jeep and 20 foot travel trailer, so I backed it into the driveway and then disconnected the vehicle to park next to the trailer. You may want to discuss that with her prior to booking a stay.
Forsythia Forest was a great host. Very accommodating . Close to Cleveland and several parks that were great to bike and hike in. We enjoyed having dinner with her. She recommended GibbsButcherBlock store where we got some fantastic chicken sausage. We recommend staying here if you are exploring this area of Ohio.
I had a very relaxed and quiet stay at ForsynthiaForest. The host introduced me to one of her friends and we had a lovely dinner together.
we had a bit of a hiccough at first because of a miscommunication about where we were to park our rig but all ended up working out okay and our hostess was very pleasant
Regretted not meeting our hostess but enjoyed our brief stay. Hearing the train felt like home. Loved listening to frogs too!
Excellent place for a relaxing stay especially for a smaller rig. Convenient and easy for host and guest
What a wonderful stay we had with Valerie. We felt like we already known each other for a long time. We had the pleasure to share a real good vegetarian meal together and discuss about so many things. We would stay here again, Valerie is such a precious person.
Valerie was a very welcoming host. We stayed two nights and enjoyed visiting the grandkids as well as fly fishing in the Rocky River. This property has a lovely pond and we even spotted a nesting pair of Cooper Hawks! Thanks again, Valerie!
We enjoyed the quiet, country setting. Our host was very accommodating. We were able to get in with our 40 foot 5th wheel but the turn into the drive was a bit narrow so be prepared for that!
We had a lovely stay and the host was absolutely wonderful! Thanks for your hospitality. 🤗
We ended up being a day delayed, and had to cancel, but host was very accommodating, every step of the way! Excellent communication, and looking forward to meeting her in our future travels when in the area next! Highly recommended! *****
I’ve enjoyed this place very much. Place is great but host is even greater! Valery as many interest and skills, it’s a pleasure to get to know her. Very nice and generous person.
We had a wonderful stay at ForsythiaForest! She shared her beautiful yard by her pond with us, and we had lots of friendly, helpful talks about RVing and many other subjects. We enjoyed the quiet surroundings, and our many walks along the road, a great place to get some exercise. Thank you!!
Valerie is great company- she knows the area well and is friendly & out going. Her place is quiet and comfortable and within easy driving distance of Cleaveland. She is one of the best hosts we have had the pleasure of staying with!
Our stay in Forsythia was amazing. The hostess is absolutely incredible. She bent over backwards to accommodate us and make us feel welcome. Can’t say enough good things about our stay.
ForsythiaForest was a delightful host and it was fun to listen to her stories. Our arrival and departure were different than we'd initially indicated and she was very gracious and seemed little concerned. Our big rig was a bit of a challenge to get into the drive but with care and patience we were able without incident.
Valerie was an excellent host and Forsythia Forest was a great place to park our rig for 5 nights. She provided extension cords to help reach 15A service to our rig and we used our water jug to fill our fresh tank. The grassy parking space was big enough to turn our 33’ rig and level. It was solid even though there was a lot of rain in the weeks around our stay. Valerie went out of her way to make us feel at home and I can highly recommend her site for anyone passing through the area.
The host is wonderful and knowledgable about the area. The RV area is a distance from the house but there are extension cords available for use. We appreciated the generosity and would stay again.
We stayed in a corner of Forsythia Forest for 3 nights. The spot was level, partially shaded, and our host ran a cord out to us so we could have electricity. Valerie was friendly and fun to visit with. We highly recommend her location to anyone staying in the Cleveland area.

Forsythia Forrest was a great host with a phenomenal spot for boondocking. She was very pleasant and helped with information around town. I was only able to stay 1 night bc of my travel plans but wish I could of stayed longer. I definitely recommend!
I stayed 1 night while passing through. Host was very nice and friendly. Property was beautiful and peaceful. Appreciate the hospitality.
ForsythiaForest offered us a place to stay while visiting the Cleveland area. Great spot in the woods but not too far from the city. Felt very safe there. The host is very friendly and accommodating too. We enjoyed chatting about our shared RV passion and experiences. <emoji>
ForstythiaForest is an amazing host with a great property away from it all, but still close enough to drive to it if you want. We have a big rig so she allowed us to park on the grass in her yard, next to her pond. She even let us run an extension cord out to our rig so we could plug in. The driveway has a tight turn in but we are newbies and managed it just fine. We would gladly stay here again! Thank you for your hospitality!
Our family stayed with ForsythiaForest while visiting Cleveland and had a lovely time. She was so kind and thoughtful, has a beautiful property that felt like a touch of camping right near the city, and was a fun person to talk to about life and travels. We happily recommend her as a host to others and are glad we had the chance to pass through here on our trip. Thank you, Forsythia Forest!
Our host was welcoming and most obliging even though she was busy. We enjoyed our stay and our chats. Close enough to Cleveland.
We stayed 2 nights and it was very peaceful. Bull Frogs croaking.. and woke to Cicadas emerging and flying about.
Our host was having a new slab poured for her RV, so was busy with that. A very nice quirt spot to rest up. Very nice host.
Thanks, Ty & Maggie
Had a 1 night stay with ForsythiaForest. It was a great location as a gateway into Cleveland. We enjoyed getting to know Her. She had plenty of room for us in her driveway.
We stayed four days with this super smart, hilarious, thoughtful and generous host. We are self-sufficient with power and water, so we had a beautiful spot on the front lawn near the pond, and had awesome sunlight streaming down on our solar panels. It takes about 40 min to drive to downtown Cleveland, and there was a great local market with fresh fruit and veg about a mile up the road. Thanks so much ForsythiaForest - we had a great time sharing stories and wine!!
I would say to anyone considering staying with this member or having this member as a guest, they will be pleasently supprised. She was a great host and I look forward to
staying with her in the future if I need a place to stay in this area again. Nice setting in the country and very quite. I offer my thanks to her for being a great host. I am a new member and hope that she is an example of what I can expect from boondockers.
We stayed at Valerie's for five days. After only being there for a few hours we were like old friends. She makes you feel at home and she is very down to earth. Valerie put us at ease and gave us everything we needed and more.
Valerie was also great company and a great guide to the attractions of the area.
The place is beautiful. The area is sourranded by nature, with many birds and deer. We spent a night sitting at a bonfire making smores. thank you Valerie from your Italian friends!
