We have a wide carport where short Motorhomes can fit level, longer rigs need some blocks. You can also park on a grassy strip next to the fence, and use the backyard to sit in. Slide outs on one side should be OK, but it might be tight for Awnings.
Very large rigs and Travel trailers are not really suitable to our location, as we don't want to antagonize our neighbours!
Kids must have fun in backyard :-)
We have power for you, but not for heat or AC, as our Chest freezer is on same circuit!
Easy City streets
Sorry no Tow vehicles or extra Trailers, due to consideration for neighbours
We will be away part of the summer, but we are happy to host when we can.
Here a few local alternatives to staying with us:
If you are coming to Vancouver, most side streets on the city's west side are good for 'stealth' camping, you can spend the whole day at Locarno and Jerico Beach for free, and the KITSILANO community centre 49.261797, -123.162549 offers free showers, just have to ask for the 'community shower'. There you can also park for the day and take a short bus into town.....
WARNING: Three of our guest have been broken into when parked at tourist locations in Vancouver: Gastown, Yaletown and Granville Island are NOT good places to leave you RV. Park away from the top spots and cycle or take transit!
If we are not available, or you just want some boondocking sites, here are a few that I know work
49.237676, -123.154907 East BLVD good for overnight
49.272592, -123.204925 Close to the Beach and Youth hostel
49.274348, -123.092344 Next to playing field, but not greatest area, close to down town
In Richmond / Steveston
49.196367, -123.136807 Close to Airport, At times 1-2 trucks spend the night there
49.116533, -123.104844 Next to the River, very quiet, often see RVs there for the night
49.126133, -123.190298 In Steveston Village, great for off season, tough in summer
Everything Vancouver has to offer, plus we are only 20 minute walk from the historic Steveston Village, and one block from the Ocean. (Though there are no beaches, just Marshland and a Dyke to walk/ride/run on)
One block from our house you can catch the bus to the centre of Richmond and the sky train which takes you to the Airport or Downtown Vancouver. The whole trip takes about 50 minutes
We were gladly surprised bij the warm welcome of Rainer en Takaka. We got electricity and the code to use their WiFi. The map Rainer handed to us was full of tips and usefull information and the route to walk on the dyke towards the harbour. Thanks again for being our host!
Kind regards, Henk & Carolien
Very welcoming & helpful on suggesting things to do / see in the area.
Calm neighborhood & walking distance to great stuff !
Whiskey loved them !
We had a great time :-)
Takara are wonderful hosts who did everything they could to make sure our visit to Vancouver was enjoyable. Highly recommended! We’d definitely come back.
We spent two nights at Takara's home with our motorhome.
We were well welcomed from the beginning to the end...
Good advise given for visiting Vancouver and around (We took the public transport to visit Vancouver easily).
We enjoyed to share and discuss with our hote, an interesting and warm person.
Thank one more time for this moment
I was greeted when I arrived and got help placing my trailer. A folder was given to me to help me know about the local area.
Rainer and Takako were very gracious hosts. They made us feel at home, offered us water and electricity, and a folder of information, including the WiFi password. The little town Steveson is very close and charming. There is a dyke to walk on and stores and restaurants and a historical cannery. It is conveniently located nearby Vancouver.
Thanks so much for welcoming us so warmly! It is much appreciated!
Reiner and Takako are very nice hosts. They provided us a folder with lots of informations and tips for visiting Vancouver and the surrounding area.
We were able to use wifi and electricity. Our children were very happy. They enjoyed the basketball court and play with the youngest boy.
Thank you very much for everything and do not hesitate to come and visit us if you come to France!
Unfortunately, I was sick when we arrived and jumped right in to bed, but my husband met these friendly hosts and had a nice chat with them both. This location is convenient to the ferry and very close to the quaint town of stevetson which is fun to spend a few hours in. Good location. Thank you so much.
What a great place to stay! Rainer and co were awesome! For our first boondocking experience this was absolutely awesome. The hospitality was amazing, Rainer provided us with our hook up and a folder with local places to visit.
We felt very welcomed! Thanks for the wonderful hospitality Rainer and co!
It was our first ever stay from this website and it was fantastic, Rainer and Takara were great hosts , laid on water , WiFi and power for us , very friendly , and had loads of great tips for the local area and things to do in Vancouver area . Highly recommended
We were very appreciative of the warm welcome offered to us by this family.
The kids loved the yard, and we loved chatting with Rainer especially.
He had lots of advice which was massively helpful and is an all around great guy.
His wife and children are also friendly too.
Thanks again and look us up when you visit England! :-)
We stayed 2 nights in Takara's home. Very quiet and nice area. He make us feel very confortable and gave us a lots of tips to visit Vancouver and the area. We also enjoyed a lot talking with him, we even wish we could have some more time to talk with him! Very nice family!! We had a restful time here.
We had a very nice stay in Takara's house. It's very easy to visit Vancouver from their home.
Rainer was very helpful, from visiting Vancouver to choosing a new lens !
Kids were very happy to play outside.
We would be pleased to welcome them at home in Europe even if they don't have a motorhome !
We stayed here one night. Nice quiet location. Hosts were very kind and knowledgeable about the area. Would stay again.
We were Takara's guests and we really enjoyed knowing them and their 2 beautiful sons. We shared very pleasant times. They made us very comfortable.
We hope to see them again. Maybe in France ?
Thank you very much!
Our host was very available to us. We had great conversations about Vancouvers's culture and history. The spot is in the suburbs, but we were able to slide out our 35ft RV. Also, a nice short ride into the city by RV. I took a bike ride in the area and was happy to find biking/hiking trails right on the coast including whale watching ships. Great hosts and great town full of history.
This was our first boondockers welcome stay and what a great way to start. Very friendly welcome from the family. Really appreciated the loan of a few tools to help with our set up (we traveled from NZ, so nothing in the shed). Great walk along the Dyke to Fishermans market where they sell the fish off the back of the boat. Handy location if you are stopping over before sailing to Vancouver Island, only 30 mins to the ferry terminal.
Even though we came on short notice, this family arranged everything (even parked away all their cars) and made our stay as comfortable, as they could! We stayed only two nights, but we should have stayed longer, because we discovered that lovely sea dike only in the last minute... We used public transport into downtown Vancouver and it was no problem. The whole family welcomed us very warmly, they even invited us in and shared their delicious cheesecake with us, while we could have chatted the whole night! ;) Thanks for this great boondocking experience!
It was our first time to park overnight (actually two nights and one whole day) on someone else's property and we loved it. Rainer was already waiting for us and was a great help getting us to Downtown Vancouver through public transport. Thank you so much for the great cake (we loved it) and everything else!!
