Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostWe have about 4 acres outside town. Our back 2 acres is a grassy field. You have to maneuver through the open gate to get there. I have no trouble with a truck and 30 foot trailer and a 37 foot motor home. It's not fancy, but you could call it a country location. We are about 2 miles from NAS Fallon and under the flight path. If you like airplanes it's good - if you don't, the noise can be annoying if you think you'll sleep in the daytime, especially during the week. If you park close enough in we can get water and 15 amp power to you. Winter presents special challenges. We are 3 + miles from "downtown" Fallon. Google earth will give you a looksee!
There is water and a holding tank dump facility at the Churchill County Fairgrounds, an easy country 3 miles from here. Dump is $5.00 and Water is $5.00 as of 12/2/17
NOTE: Elsewhere the system asks for stay and notice requirements, without any ability to add notes. The fact is that all of that depends. It depends on whether we're going to be here, for example. We are retired and may decide to leave. A simple message or call and we can talk about details. Same day is OK - if we get the request and are here. It ALL depends. Reasonableness is the key here.
Paved up to the property with a 200 foot dirt section around the corner, then through a gate of sorts to the back field. There's precious little rain in Nevada so mud is not "normally" an issue. A little steering is required to get through the gate into the back field.
The uploaded picture is an old Google Earth view and is not current.
We're on near 4 country acres with a lot of stuff around. There are boats, RVs and cars stored. No problem finding a place in the field to park and probably around the rig.
Note:*** Water is not available in cold months because of weatherization. An extension cord can normally be run out to the field, if required. Winter conditions can be challenging, as most RVrs know.
You'll have to check with us. We are retired so who knows! We do a lot of last minute trips year-round, but feel free to give us a shout and see if we can accommodate you
It's a small town, but decent restaurants, shopping (Walmart, Safeway), and small casinos in town. There's a small museum in town and several historic BLM areas outside town.
Host was most helpful, informative, and filled with good advice
Thanks very much for making our stay pleasant
Quick stop. Enjoyed watching the quail in amongst the trees. A little birdie sat beside me as I sat in the shade. The town of Fallon has everything. I recommend the Courtyard Cafe and bakery! Homemade, delishious, clean, fast and friendly! Roland really wanted to help me in any way possible. I didn't need anything; in fact I learned more about backing up longer distances out of the boondocking location! Oh, he has a collection of old vehicles like Mercedes and trailers like Airstream. I enjoyed watching the planes!
Very knowledgeable about other locations as well. Very quick in responding and keep communication easy.
Great host, wonderful place to see fighter jets in the air. Only flying during the day into evening. Turned off cool & quiet after dark. Will stop back by when in area.
Good spot for overnight stop in Fallon.
Had a good talk with the hosts ,talked over old times about the navy. Would stop again
I enjoyed my time here and the host was so kind. He provided an extension cord so I could park in the shade.
He checked to see if I needed anything in town and gave me lots of information about the route I was taking. He was available if I needed anything. He and his wife are very sweet. I stayed on a Sunday so there was no air traffic but on Monday the planes began flying but I did not think they were too loud. I would stay there again.
wrhj3 was a friendly host for the one night I stayed. I enjoyed talking about our shared Navy experiences with him. Also, he was very helpful suggesting places to camp down the road that he had experience with. Noisy during the day but the jets stopped during sleeping hours.
Wonderful Host. Helped me find my way around Nevada even after I had left. Lots of good RV and basic chassie advice. Place was quiet except for the planes.
I stopped by in my small RV while passing through the area, met wrhjr3 and his wife. Very quiet spot near the end of a road, had an undisturbed evening with plenty of space. Watching the planes was pretty interesting, not as loud as I thought they'd be. Highly recommended!
