Cornwall PEI - Center of town.
See the 2nd largest Linden tree on PEI (aka, Tilia, Basswood, English Lime), and take a day-trip to Victoria to see the largest!
Completely private -- an acre of treed property surrounded by 60 acres of lawn. Looks like a park. Skateboarding, swings, playground~s~ (plural), walking distance to restaurants, trails, community pool, fitness facilities, and five minutes from the capital city on the Trans Canada Highway.
Five minutes away by car is the largest shopping area in the province, movie theaters, one in five of all PEI restaurants (if you draw a circle that big), and a winery. Double that drive time and you have another winery, several golf courses, beaches, dunes, kayaking, deep-sea fishing, Historic Cavendish, and most of the historic sites on PEI. Add another hour and a half, in any direction, and you can see anything on the Island.
Absolutely perfect for families, artists, seniors, or just folk. A great place to rest and plan the rest of your trip. There's a proper dog-park you can walk to with your morning coffee, in your slippers if you don't mind damp toes, and room for Frisbee-golf, or just practicing t-shots! If you prefer to sit in your rig there's a lot of nice spots to give you a pleasant view, but if you like to be active, this is better than being in an expensive park near the beaches. Oh yeah, there are 1100 miles of coast on PEI, 1000 of it is beach. There's a private spot for you somewhere.
Up to 100 gallons of non-chlorinated potable (great tasting) well-water is free. Other on-site services, or mult-day stays, can be negotiated before arrival.
*municipal rules apply to playgrounds, trails, and dog-park.
Zero tolerance for drips or spills at our dump site. If you are not *certain* you can dump without missing a drop, there is a commercial dump less than 1km up the road which is open all day.
Leave the space looking as tidy (or better) than you found it and you're free to do pretty much as you please. Within reason you are not restricted even overnight with respect to sitting outside, running generators, or even having a loud chat with friends. There's no one near enough to bother unless you get out of hand. I'm a bit sensitive to seeing a cigarette butt on the ground, that's about it.
Please note: New software has removed the "play it by ear" possibility so I'm showing two night stays, one is standard, but longer is negotiable. Also, I'm showing water hookup because it's possible, not because it's available at sites - it is not. Electric hookup can be made available nearly anywhere ('specially if you keep an extension cord).
Excellent - directly on Trans Canada Highway
A wide selection of options available. Always available.
Availability is year round (no hookups in winter). No short notice bookings.
In the summer this entire Island (million acres) is tailored to tourism. There is a vast number of things to do and see here from major performances to road-side vegetables.
We spent two nights in Kevin's yard. Kevin, as soon as we arrived, showed a strong desire to make us comfortable, leaving also at disposal some games for the children. The spot is close to the road, and also close to a municipal park with skate park and playground, and it was good for our children. Kevin is available and likes to chat or share a beer.
