We are only 2+ miles from Interstate 90 located on a blacktop (hard surface road). I've noticed the map you see initially when looking for my site is a little off. Once I OK your stay you will (should) see is a more accurate map to my location.
If you have questions please send me an email.
Parking location is easy to get to. Well water (my drinking water) and 30 amp electricity is available. Usually my WiFi reaches the parking spot.
Parking is quite level, parking could be on gravel drive or grass, depending if I will need to be driving in or out of my shed. Real quiet area.
Main trait we're looking for is - Be Friendly clean and neat and don't leave a mess!
We do not have an RV dumpsite nor do we allow any grey water dumping, drainage either.
Also, if you need to stay a little longer than 2 days and both of us agree on you staying longer, then I'd appreciate a $5 donation per day after the initial 2 days. Otherwise, no charge. Thank you.
Need to be careful. The township does NOT do a good job of making it convenient to drive tall vehicles without rubbing tree branches. Some places you will need to drive a little ways from the side of the road to miss a couple of overhanging trees. Typical Wisconsin county road, for an RV I would say maximum speed would be around 40 mph and up the hill and around some corners slower. I have no problem driving this road with my 40 foot motorhome and 25' trailer. This is a hard surfaced road, I call it blacktop.
If you are the 2nd person requesting to stay at my place, that's fine but it is a back in spot and would require backing around a circle drive and it will also accommodate a 40' rig plus parking for your tow vehicle. I back our rig around this drive all the time to back into our shed parking.
Plenty of space to park your tow vehicle and or trailer, right beside your main unit.
I don't wear a mask and neither do most other people in this county.
I receive emails on my phone, plus text messages, so feel free to use either if you are interested in stopping by. I try to respond quickly as I know from personal experience how frustrating it is when someone either doesn't answer you or takes a day or so to do so, But many times I'm operating a piece of equipment with and engine running so I could be a little late with a reply. I also understand about not being able to plan out a few days in advance, so last minute decisions are welcome. Da....the joys of an traveling in an RV, being independent, right!
Also, if you are in need of stopping by during some of my blocked dates....and if you have stayed with me before. Feel free to send me a request, We'd probably let you stay whether we are going to be home or not.
I look forward to meeting you.
If you are traveling with pets, I'm sorry but no matter how small, they are not welcome. I don't have any pets myself. I added this sentence because some people are not paying attention to the icons above.
The famous Elroy - Sparta bicycle trail is about 15 miles away. Most of the trail is open, had a severe flood a couple years ago and still doing some repairs on the trail.
Nationally known tractor pull is also held every June, only about a 5 mile drive.
Annual Warrens Cranberry Festival (Cranfest) is the last weekend of September every year (just a few miles north of Tomah). BUT it has been cancelled for 2020
"Young at heart" couple, you might think they're newly-weds. Great hosts, lovely place, and a lovely visit. Peaceful & quiet but attentive to our needs. We appreciated the thoughtfulness and the kindness Samson Acres showed to us during our visit. We believe we have made some new friends and hope to return next year when we come to visit Wisconsin.
Great couple! Spent two days here, never did see Samson. They came across to us as conservative patriotic Americans who love our veterans, the American flag, and our great nation. We were greeted as soon as we pulled in the driveway. Guided into a parking spot with great views of the valley. Easy to spot the driveway, with all the Trump flags and banners out at the road. Gorgeous views of the changing fall colors. We greatly appreciated the stay and great conversations. We would love to visit again in the future.
Ernie & Betty are wonderful hosts! Their house on a hilltop has a gorgeous view and lovely sunsets. We had great conversations with both of them. Easy to find and lots of room to park.
Our host couldn’t have been nicer. He was super responsive with messages. We had power and water and a quiet night’s sleep. Appreciate it all!
Such a warm and patient welcome. Due to first day trip chaos we ended up hitting the road much later than we had planned. Our host at Samson Acres was gracious and accomodating. Beautiful way to start our trip. Thanks!
This was an awesome stay. The location was beautiful and so easy to get to. We had a great time with our host and couldn't have been any better. I highly recommend this host site!! We hope to come back some day!!
Our 2nd BW on our trip out west and another great stop with a very gracious host at Sampson’s Acres. Arrived around 5, host got us all set in and we were able to cook a great dinner and sit down and eat before a thunderstorm rolled through. Thought that would be it for the night, but later we were able to sit out and watch the thunderstorm roll away with a beautiful double rainbow to boot. Sun made one last appearance then the birds began their twilight song rituals. Great experience, hope to meet again when we have more time to discuss those rocks 👍
I enjoyed my time at Samson Acres. Quiet and peaceful area and very nice host. Thank you.
No one named Samson lives here.
So why is it named Samson Acres?
The answer is a good conversation starter with the Host.
Very nice, quiet parking with power available. The Host is a pleasant person and enjoys conversations.
Thanks for letting us stay.
We are very grateful to have stayed at our host E’s place last evening. He has some beautiful acreage overlooking the hills of west Wisconsin in a quiet area, and a level driveway easy to access not too far off the highway for our truck camper. We also needed to change the oil in our truck and he allowed us to do so (and even chatted with my husband for quite awhile learning a few things). Thank you for the stay, we greatly enjoyed it!
We’ve had another great BW stay. Our Host was there to welcome us as we pulled in the drive.
We enjoyed our social time until it was time for dinner and the approaching wind/rain storm. We made arrangements to go to breakfast together and enjoyed even more social time.
We hope to meet again.
Was a great place to stay. Will be back and stay again.
Gorgeous 7acres. Wonderful hosts. Very friendly, helped us park. Had a short chat. Had 30 amp, water, and WiFi. Most generous and friendly. Had a really nice conversation before we left on Sunday. Bought some Wisconsin cheese, 😋. Will definitely stay here with our new friend when our adventures bring us to Wisconsin in the future.
An affable host plus a lovely setting with great views make this a perfect spot for a night or longer.
We stopped here for one night on our way out West and we wished we had more time to stay! Our host was very helpful, very nice and we had a great chat around the fire. It was a beautiful location, easy to find and very quiet. This was our kids' favorite location to stay in our whole 3 weeks of travel! Thanks again!!
I've only been on the road for five days, and arrived at Samson Acres tired, at dusk, after a long day of navigating construction on the way from Chicago. My host was so friendly and welcoming, and when I was daunted at having to back and reposition my RV, offered to do it for me, which I gratefully accepted. He clearly delights in meeting the people who pull into his drive and hearing their stories. I highly recommend him as a host!
We felt well cared for on Samson Acres . Our host waited for us even though we were delayed by traffic, was quick to reply to messages and generous in providing hydro and water. We were invited to join him at his campfire, and conversation was pleasant and comfortable.
This was a wonderful first boondocking experience for our family.
My wife and I stopped here on our way through Wisconsin and I have to say it turned out to be an unexpected gem along our road trip. We stayed several nights on the property and made our way to local cheese joints, visited the Amish, and met with other friends who took us to Devil's Lake, which are all very close to the property.
The host here was great. He was exactly "our type of guy". Not intrusive but sociable. He took the time to get to know us and we him and now we have a real friend! We still keep in touch via email because we had a lot in common and shared a really great night around his fire pit cooking and chatting.
The property was clean, level, had water and wifi. The views were great and no real traffic. The area had some nice hiking and my wife enjoyed jogging and cycling along the road. The "neighbors" are also great. We met a farmer who invited us to come see a new born calf if we wanted.
All in all, this is the best stop we've found on boondockers welcome. If you're in his neighborhood, I suggest you give Samson Acres a shout out. Instead of a "stop", it was a great experience. Thanks again for the great times!
We stayed with 'Samson Acres' for one night, but wish our schedule allowed for us to have stayed longer. 'Samson Acres' was incredibly welcoming and friendly. From our first email correspondece ... to receiving an email with directions, an invitation to enjoy a bonfire in their backyard ... the experience couldn't have been better. We really enjoyed our time, especially sitting with them, eating smores and getting to know them.
As an added perk ... The parking site was amazingly beautiful. This is an understatement ... the view from our rig was just stunning while parked at their home.
Thank you for a wonderful stay ... we'd love to come back sometime in the future!!
We had a delightful afternoon visiting with our host and daughter. The facilities were perfect for us. This is a beautiful, peaceful location with wonderful views - our only disappointment was not seeing any deer while there.
The parking site was level and easy to back into. Our host was most helpful making sure we were comfortable.
Our main reason for visiting the area was to bicycle on the Elroy Sparta Trail which was close by.
Another wonderful stay with Boondockers Welcome.
