Description

Hello Fellow Traveler,

PLEASE NOTE: MY DRIVEWAY MEASUREMENTS ARE 17 FEET WIDE AND 18 FEET IN LENGTH.
THE DRIVEWAY IS NOT FLAT. SEE THE PHOTO BEFORE REQUESTING A STAY, THANK YOU;)

I am located approximately halfway between Gilroy and Salinas, a few minutes west of Highway 101. Travel time to Monterey/Carmel is about 15 minutes. Santa Cruz is about 35 minutes (depending on traffic). Access to highways 101, 156, and 1 is pretty easy from my location. Several grocery stores, pharmacies, a brewery, restaurants, and an auto supply store are nearby in case you need to get provisions.

I live in an urban working-class neighborhood in Seaside. Seaside is located between Santa Cruz and Monterey on the California coast. Morning fog is not uncommon, but that keeps our temperatures pretty mild.

You are welcome to boondock in my driveway.

The driveway site is suitable for vans or smaller Class B rigs (less than 20 feet) and you will need to back in or back out. I am not sure if there is room on either side for slide-outs.

Electricity and water can be made available if requested for a $15 donation.

There is a small seating area in the front yard for you. No other amenities are available.
Happy trails to you! See You Down the Road...

A quiet and relaxing place.

I appreciated the host letting me stay on her property. She was very friendly and suggested different activities that I could do while in Monterey. The spot was relaxing and quiet.

Wonderful hostess

We were honored to be california1’s first-ever Boondocker guests. We arrived after dark so didn’t have much time to chat, nevertheless she was warm and welcoming. The driveway was too short for our Sprinter van but we found room on the street in front of her house and got a good night’s sleep. In the morning we discovered her entire yard is full of gardens including a section to sustain Monarch butterflies.
