Unfortunately, ongoing health concerns make it impossible to host most of this year (2023). We will re open/reassess when my wife recovers from her surgery scheduled for this summer. Only two blocks from Pacific Ocean. You can drive along the worlds longest beach and find an isolated spot to allow your dogs to run, have a family gathering or just watch the sunsets. Just minutes from historic Oysterville, WA. Just north of Long Beach with some of the freshest and finest seafood available. Also, visit Marsh's free museum and say hello to Jake, the alligator man (supposed to bring good luck if you see him). Please, no wine. We have more than enough. Instead, stop by Willapa Oyster Company and purchase one of their fine frozen food items to go. You won't be sorry. Due to ongoing health concerns, we cannot accommodate at this time. Suggested Local Attractions: Willapa Oysters, ( https://store.willapa-oysters.com/ ) Marsh's Free Museum, Oysterville, Jacks mercantile (possibly the oldest one in Washington state, Ilwaco port and museum, and across the Columbia to Astoria, OR. https://opwa.com/things-to-do/

Mr. and Mrs. Lindsay & Lynn Bruce Details: Unfortunately, ongoing health concerns make it impossible at this time to take any visitors this year. (2023). Retired Federal worker, high voltage electrician. Vietnam Vet. Wife (Lynn) and I have been married for over 50 GOLDEN years. We are vacationing in place, with our two dogs, in our house on the lagoon, just two blocks from the Pacific ocean. Home Town: Ocean Park, WA very old community (only 80 years after Lewis & Clark arrived). Ocean Park was once a station on the Ilwaco Railway and Navigation Company, a narrow gauge railroad that ran along the Long Beach Peninsula from 1889 to 1930.[4] One of the oldest buildings in Pacific County is the Taylor Hotel building, built in 1887, currently in use as Adelaide's Cafe and Bookstore named after Adelaide Taylor,[5] the wife of the original hotel owner. The oldest building in Ocean Park is the Lamberson Cabin, built in 1883[6] by Buell Lamberson. The cabin has been kept in private family ownership through the generations for the use of Lamberson descendants. Endless beach you can drive on (4 wheel drive recommended) abundance of seafood. Jack's Country Store has literally hundreds of thousands of items, repotedly, the oldest mercantile store in Washington state. Historic Oysterville, http://www.oysterville.org/ and site https://www.visitlongbeachpeninsula.com/tips-tools/villages/oysterville/ just a few miles away. Favorite Boondocking Locations: Along I-5 corridor. Most (not all)rest stops along the way down to So. California. We have stayed in many U.S. Forrest Service sites, no fee and loved the peace and tranquility. We have not stayed at a host site yet, but we are looking forward to doing that. Skills or Expertise to Share: Have become informed on local sites of interest. I LOVE the ocean. And oysters!

L & L have a fantastic, impressively leveled, gravel spot for your rig. These guys take hosting seriously, and are so welcoming! Be sure to inquire about the local history of Oysterville, if you’re interested in learning about how many nearby portions of the PNW were settled. The beach is a very short walk from their house too!

This Boondockers Welcome experience has been the absolute best! Lindsay and Lynn were the most gracious hosts. They were the perfect blend of friendly and helpful, without being overbearing in any way. Lindsay took the time to take me on a tour of the area, as this is my first time in Ocean Park, and I’m now strongly considering buying property here at some point. He is so knowledgeable! I felt safe and at ease during my stay. The proximity to the beach is ideal for myself and my dogs. Jack’s Country Store is nearby and had anything I could possibly need - not to mention the nostalgic vibe just walking in there. This stay was an unexpected treat and I can’t wait to return!!!
