Have you stayed at this host location?
Leave a reference for this hostWe're located in Spring Creek, NV - just outside of Elko. Elko is right off of Hwy 80 halfway between Reno and Salt Lake City.
We have a large field - approx. 4 flat acres. There is a possibility of difficult access if there is snow on the ground.
There is plenty of room for tow vehicle to park next to your rig.
We're 10 miles from Lamoille Canyon - a beautiful hiking and picnic area. There is also the Ruby Mountain Ballon Festival held in July - they launch from a field directly below our house. Elko has their National Cowboy Poetry Gathering the last week in January (unfortunately the weather isn’t great for RVing that time of year!)
We loved our stay at Dicsan. The hosts were so sweet and the place offered had a nice gazebo made just for boondockers to chill from the hot sun. We enjoyed a meal on the front patio with them and had lots of great conversations and laughs. We would love to visit them again in the future!!!!
Excellent experience for our first time using Boondockers Welcome. Sandy was so accommodating and the stay was perfect! Peaceful night and woke up to gorgeous views of the mountains.
Perfect location. Area for boondockers was very well decorated. Would stay there again without question.
I’ve now fallen in love with the Ruby mtns! Great location and super space. I usually have my sprinter but camping plans changed and used as a last minute camp out. A small oasis with lots of space for larger rigs for sure. Kind family and as always so nice to have a short visit (6 ft apart) whenever possible— since Boondocking is about the experience as much as the location.
Safe- comfortable and miles away from a social destination- the Ruby’s!
Sandy is an awesome, warm and welcoming host! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful property with us. Big Sky Montana style landscape view up to 50 miles in all directions. Plenty of space for all size RVs.
We planned to stay at Dicsan's until the weather turned on us. She gave us a heads up on the weather and was great to communicate with; helpful and friendly support on our journey.
We were lucky to have a major thunderstorm while visiting...entire sky visible against the backdrop of Ruby mountains. Sandy and Dick were dealing with unexpected family health issues but allowed me to stay even though time spent face to face with them was limited. Very kind people generously willing to share their acreage.
It is a beautiful setting. The hosts had to unexpectedly leave town but graciously offered us to stay while they were gone. Such a nice gesture. We sure hope to come back and meet them in person sooner than later.
Thank you so much for your hospitality. Visiting with you both really was special and we’ll definitely visit again as our travels bring us near. Thinking of you in the days and weeks to come.
The view of the Ruby mountains was just spectacular. Our hosts could not be more friendly or helpful in telling us on where to visit in the area.
A must drive is the Lamoille canyon.
Thanks again to our wonderful hosts

What gracious hosts. It was so much fun that our time went by too quickly. So much information was provided on the area and Ruby mountains. Hopefully we will meet again.
Dick and Sandy are most gracious and accommodating hosts! And, their location is simply spectacular. Thanks so much for your hospitality and the enjoyable chat. Hope to see you on the road sometime!
We were parked on their 5 acre property with a 270 degree view of the snow covered mountains. Sandy welcomed us and gave advice for our day trips.
Fabulous host and Wonderful location. We followed the location description in Boondockers Welcome, led us right to them, and yes our GPS tried to make it difficult. Lol. We were one of two guest that night and we all had a great glass of wine and chatted a bit. Would stay again if we are in the area again.
Sandy was so kind and inviting! Her place is beautiful with a spacious backyard and a great view of the mountains. She invited us to have a glass of wine and we chatted for a long time! 100% would stay here again and would always recommend their place to friends! It was just a 24 min drive off the interstate, and it was well worth it to be in such a beautiful, country setting. Thanks again for having us!!
Very kind host,we wish we had more time to get to know her but we were just passing by.
Awesome location with incredible views.
Thank you!
The best way to sum up our stay with Dicsan in one word is “perfection.” We could not have had a better experience. From their friendly and welcoming nature, their delightful sense of humor, and fantastic recommendations to see Lamoille Canyon and the California Trail Interpretive Center, our stay was one we will always remember. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be back!
We really enjoyed our stay at Rubies View. Our hosts were so very welcoming and gave us several options of places to park and recommendations on our upcoming travels. The scenery was peaceful as well as breathtaking. We had such a peaceful nights rest. We’d love you come stay again, reciprocate to Dicsan or connect during future travels!
Thanks to our hosts for a great stay. Their place is a large grassy field which was easy to drive our trailer on. We enjoyed their company and warm welcome. The view is stunning toward the Ruby Mountains. Our pups took advantage of the fenced in patio area to stretch while we set up the trailer. We hope to be back again and explore the nearby mountains.
We stopped off here on the way to and from California/Oregon. Our host was super great with directions (get them from her, not your map app), and very welcoming. The site off their driveway has killer views of the Ruby Mtns, and super easy for my trailer to pull in to. My dog Zoey loved playing fetch in the adjacent pasture. Really a perfect stop off....
We had a very nice visit with Dicsan; we spent a lot of time visiting and talking, it felt like staying with family. We hope to see them again if they make it out our way, or if we can meet up in the southwest. They have a great location and views, and plenty of room. There's good biking in the neighborhood, and various interesting day trips available that they'll tell you all about.
We contacted Dick and Sandy to know if can meet them but they already left their home for Arizona but they offered us to meet them at the place they stay near Quartzsite. We finally met them there and they were really nice and helpful. We were pleased to meet them.
We stayed with "Dicsan" for one evening on our way home from a cross-country trip adventure. Dicsan was very quick at responding to emails and texts, and providing detailed directions on how to get to their house. She was waiting at the end of the driveway, to show us where to park our rig. We enjoyed getting to know them over hors d'oeuvres and dinner. They definitely went above and beyond our expectations of just having a place to park our rig for the evening. Thank you for a nice layover, Dicsan!
What a view of the Ruby Mountains, we were parked in a nice level field behind the house. Spent time with Sandy sharing wine and stories. We were invited to spend as much time as we wanted. Hope to return the great welcome if you are ever out our way.
Stayed with Dick and Sandy recently on my way through Nevada to East Coast. They were great hosts and the site is level with a great view of Ruby Mountains. We shared some wine and stories from the road!
We had a great time staying with Dick and Sandy. They went out of their way to collect local tourist information for us, make us feel comfortable, and even invited us to their big, delicious, homemade breakfast after the Ruby Mountain Balloon Festival. Their property is spacious, level, and has fantastic views. Thanks, Dicsan!
A fun couple! Really sweet dog.
And they have GREAT taste in pizza! ;-) And know where all the best sites are in the area.
Oh, and the parking was perfect, lots of space, and very flat!
